It is taking so long, because tons of people have preordered it and they can’t provide enough shadow machines. Therefore it gets delayed.

it really depends where you live because not all datacenters are in equal demand. If you live near Texas, Chicago or Santa Clara you will receive your Shadow soon. People in e.g. New York have to wait a bit longer because of the high demand there.

I give up ordered June 7th Paris server and just got a delay email until October I am cancelling and will never try this again didn’t even get a chance to. Totally shambolic and non existent customer service I really hope a competitor comes along soon and wipes Shadow off the planet crap company can’t run with SLA must be a bunch of monkeys sitting at desks doing sod all how can creating a simple VM which you should have scripts to do take 3 months. If you don’t have the capacity be upfront about it. At least someone else will bump up the list a bit not that it matters load of crap
Thats part of the problem. They are accepting endless preorders with no linit. I think they need the preorder money upfront to pay for hardware for people ordering earlier. Geforce now atleast stopped taking orders and said they had reached max capasity, thats an honest move and the way it should be. Waiting up to half a year is just laughable.
I understand your mood, but there is a massive difference between these services and the financial power behind.
Shadow offers dedicated GPU for each customer so if there are not enough cards around and your supplier is out of stock you can’t host more VMs.
If you offer only grid compute this is way easier to balance since you do not need an actual GPU per user.
This experience at this pricepoint is unheard of and time is money. So if you want a solution now pay the extra, get a machine for which you pay per time of use and when your Shadow is ready apprechiate the experience.

Totally agree it’s almost as if they are doing a money Scam they hold onto thousands of users £15 or more and make interest off it. I didn’t know they guaranteed a gpu just for you I thought they may be shared in that case even better but they don’t deserve anyone’s money with this work ethic

I dont think its a scam, i think they have taken on way to much preorders,and when the expected delivery time you get the vm is all over the place, there is a big problem. This has nothing to do wirh what you get, you advertise a service, then you deliver that service regardless of specs, without multiple delays. that is not the customers problem. I tried to get a shadow before covid, and It was the same problem, so that excuse doesnt fly for me. Other cloud streaming services seems to do just fine on service and hardware. Im not waiting until my beard is grey for a shadow.
Taking too many preorders...although you already know you can’t fulfill them in a short period of time and NOT putting up information, that it takes way longer is pretty much a scam.
