Hi all, I’ve heard ‘through the grapevine’ that Shadow servers mine crypto while users are offline. Is this true?If so, why wasn’t this advertised better when signing up? It is definitely something that would make me think twice of staying with Shadow.Is there an opt-out option maybe?Again, these are just rumours I’ve heard, so don’t bite my head off if it’s all untrue.

Please keep in mind that this will wipe any existing data from your Shadow but will not reset additional storage. We highly recommend saving any information you’d like to keep on your local device before you initiate the factory reset. If you do not have an active subscription or outstanding bills, you’ll have the ability to delete your account here as well. This will wipe your Shadow and delete any existing information on it. After a year with no problems even through bankruptcy and all the scale back and changesI supported shadow and even committed to 1 yr to support the company!Yesterday received notice that they could not bill my account! Being very satisfied with the service and waiting 2 months for activation I do not want to lose the service I don’t want to lose it!I tried resetting the payment method did not work!Called my bank they said it was their end so I wrote as support tickedThe gave me some BS saying it was the issuing bank!Spent a hour with my bank to track down the problem and they said it was rejected by Shadow because the billing address did not match….this was not a problem before payment went through many time before!Tried to edit the billing address to match the debit card thier website did not allow me to do thisWrote another support ticked they sent me a link to update my payment!!The page did not allow me to change billing address or reset the debit card!! Hello, I have noticed its been 4 days since I ordered my Shadow and it still says under 1 hour.Do anyone have a approximate of the time? I sat the data center at Georgia, USA because I bought it for a friend with VR.would that be the issue? also my discord is in my profile if needed.
So, I ordered my Shadow Boost last week and I was told I’d receive it before March 1st, 2022. I’ve seen some other people say that this time isn’t correct in their state so I was wondering if that date is accurate for Ohio users (where I live). Now, I just mentioned I live in Ohio, but I live VERY VERY close (20-30 minutes or so) from West Virginia and Pennsylvania. I don’t know if it would benefit me to say I live in one of those states or just say that I live in Ohio. I am right on the edge and I don’t know if it will benefit me with connection/activation time if I were to chose another state. Thank you for your time for my somewhat long read.
Hi all. I subscribed 3 hours ago (from the UK so I'm assuming this will be the Paris data centre). I don't have any lead time when I log into my account page on any of the tabs (it just says "waiting activation"). Does anyone know how long UK activations take on Saturdays or roughly how long I can expect to wait? I don't even know if activations happen on weekends etc. Thanks!
Hello, Lately I've gotten more and more frustrated by the unavailability of the additional storage for Amsterdam. I have been very patient (been waiting for over a year, and never once have I seen additional storage available. I've asked support about this, but they say that I have to be patient. The problem is, that I can simply not play certain games like Ark: Survival Evolved, because it takes up more space then I have available. I understand that shadow cannot snap their fingers and create more additional storage, but I want to post a suggestion. If this is a monetary problem, I would be willing to pay a one time fee to expand the availability of the storage, to make sure that I at least can upgrade my shadow. I understand that one guy donating doesn't make a difference, but I would be willing to pay 50 euro's if I could have at least 250 gb of extra storage (and of course the 3 euros p/m that it costs for the extra storage). I'm quite sure a lot of other guys would also be willing
Florida, the third most populated state in the USA, gets its service from its next door neighbor New York (sarcasm). Ping times for most are above 40ms and many, myself included, no longer subscribe to Shadow because of it. Years ago, someone from Shadow said a data center for Florida was planned. Will Florida ever get a data center that could service the South East of the USA?
Hello fellow Shadowers and support team!I own a Shadow account located in Germany (or I guess Amsterdam, by checking here https://status.shadow.tech/)So, I am moving from Germany to France and I want my datacenter to be there.Can I have 2 shadows accounts, one In Germany and one in France and keep them both? The idea is to buy a second account located in France, test it out and if it behaves well, then leave the Germany one and keep the France one.From what I understood, switching account it’s impossible, and it’s not really an option for me anyway.Can I own 2 shadow accounts?
So I just paid for this service after seeing how quick and easy it is supposed to be. Decided to switch from GeforceNow after seeing it advertised and recommended by a friend. Now that I have paid for it, and it told me it would be ready in 3 hours. Now I see a lot of people are having the issue with this “delay” happening before they can access it. So now my 3 hours have passed and I am still waiting. This is false advertising in my opinion. You don’t advertise 3 hours everywhere, and then all of a sudden after the deadline has passed get to change my time frame to a longer one. I see your terms and conditions say that you are allowed to. But they do not say you have the right to after the deadline has passed. This is a shady practice I would say. Judging by the amount of post I see here about the exact same thing, you all do this a lot. If you do not have the capability to keep up with your markets demands then why advertise like you do just so they will buy what your selling? Needle
Dear Shadow,I've been using Shadow now for a good solid year with a yearly subscription.I signed in to Shadow due to the fact of having this neat set up which I can take where ever I go and still having decent performance with my own Virtual PC on whatever device.Mostly I'm using an Intel NUC mini PC to connect to Shadow to play games, but during travels I would use my Chromebook for some normal administration work.So far I've been a real fan of the concept and how it worked.However… Now, since the price increases significantly, and I need to sign in for subscription renewal, I wonder if it's still worth it.The machines are not being upgraded, service and communication went down the drain for large part of the year (since the big announcement) and it doesn't seem to improve soon.Isn't it just cheaper now to buy a laptop with fairly decent specs?Example: Asus ROG Strix G15i5 10th Gen, Nvidia RTX3050, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD > around 1000 eurosSo lets say I keep it for 4 years, that's 100
Just got my Shadow PC built yesterday. I noticed higher latency and I was surprised to find out that the Chicago Data Center is not up and running. I live in Michigan and it appears I have been moved to Dallas or New York. Just curious if anyone knows what is going on and what to expect in the future. The latency currently isn’t ideal but in the short term is fine, but I still would like to eventually have a Data Center closer to me.
