Shadow says "starts on july 6th 2020.
My Shadow says subscription starts July 6th 2020. I show Storage amount. My orders read (0) is there a delay of a day or two when I can start it? It shows under my subscription but I have not received an email. If this question has been asked I couldn’t find it sorry :(

You can find your subscription period in your Account Page: https://account.shadow.tech/. Shadow is a monthly recurring subscription so each payment will be due on the same day each month. Your subscription also won’t start until your Shadow has been activated so you won’t be losing any paid billing time. For example, if you purchased Shadow on April 21st, 2020, and your subscription wasn’t activated until May 2nd, 2020, your subscription will go from May 2nd until June 2nd and you won’t be charged until June 2nd. If you’re on a monthly subscription, you will also have the ability to cancel your subscription through your “Subscriptions & Billings” tab. Once you initiate the cancellation request, your subscription will be cancelled before your next invoice is set to be sent out. You will get to use Shadow for the paid amount of time. For example, if your subscription is for May 2nd to June 2nd and you cancel your subscription on May 21st, you will be able to use your Shadow
Future of the Chicago Data Center?
Just got my Shadow PC built yesterday. I noticed higher latency and I was surprised to find out that the Chicago Data Center is not up and running. I live in Michigan and it appears I have been moved to Dallas or New York. Just curious if anyone knows what is going on and what to expect in the future. The latency currently isn’t ideal but in the short term is fine, but I still would like to eventually have a Data Center closer to me.
Random bans for "Crypto mining"
Well, I am writing this with absolutely zero hope for a solution to be found here but as I am apparently not allowed to discuss this on the Discord and support has been less than helpful. I am now trying a new avenue. A simple search here or on the Discord server can show you that people are being randomly banned for crypto mining who very well might not be. I know I for one was not, and any simple look at my Shadow would show that. Not really sure what else there is to say. I turned my Shadow off the night before, woke up the next day and napped at some point. Around 1 p.m. I received an e-mail saying that “forbidden activity was detected” followed by a ban about 30 minutes later saying that I was stopping Shadow from turning off. My Shadow was not turned on, nor did I ever do anything to stop that. Obviously I believe this to be an error and I see a lot of other people having the same issue. Despite that support sent me an accusatory response basically calling me a dirty crypto miner
Hello all, I’m moving to New York from Chicago later this year and I was just wondering what the policy on switching my shadow to a different datacenter would be. I bought the 1 year package so I am kind of locked in. At the time of buying I had no idea I was going to have to move. Now that it’s set in stone and locked in I was just wondering if I could have my shadow moved. Thank you!
So I forgot about my shadow and have not used it just over a month, however today is the last day before my bill renews and I am currently trying to cancel yet the option is not there. I have sent support a ticket but I don’t know how long that will take, does anyone know why the option is not there?
careful with your referral codes
I just had my referral code AND discount deactivated for unknowingly abusing a rule. Shared it in an oculus quest VR group, even people I play with and it was deactivated without warning regardless of the fact that 70% of my referrals are friends and family. So my advice is only share your code via private messaging to friends and family. I was frustrated by this because on the referral page it literally says "X NUMBER OF REFERRALS UNTIL FREE SHADOW!!" but nothing about rules of abuse.
So what's going on with London?
So, I'm a bit confused here. Have pre ordered shadow in London. (Ordered 18 Jul. Says….Oct? delivery...wow) What's all this talk about data centres. When I joined the forum it made me choose a data centre...but there didn't seem to be one for the UK / London. Does this mean that my shadow when it's eventually delivered will run out of France or Amsterdam….isn't the latency going to suck coming from a different country?? What happened to a UK data centre?
Shadow Still Not Activated
To whom it may concern, Ordered my shadow boost back in april. Have opened multiple support tickets. Shadow is still not activated. No one can give me an eta on my shadow which i find to be a complete lie because someone in the data center has to know what system their currently working on. Ive missed out on multiple game releases because of this. I understand the whole corona virus but if my own retail store in NY can be open and i manage online orders im pretty sure some egg head can atleast give me an eta on what rig their installing. Sincerely, one pissed off consumer.
when can i get shadow?
Right when can I actually get shadow? I’ve been waiting for a while ago as I was a shadow customer in the past but cancelled it as I never got the chance to use it due to work commitments, but now I don’t I’m really wanting to get into it again, I’m currently away with work for 6 month and don’t have a gaming pc I have my iPad, this is where shadow would come in really usually as I could use my controller, and wireless keyboard and mouse to play games and keep me occupied, but it says not available until 2021 but yet I see people posting about there current shadow plan? When’s the earliest I could get on shadow? And do I actually have to wait until 2021 to use shadow?
Getting Fed up !
After a year with no problems even through bankruptcy and all the scale back and changesI supported shadow and even committed to 1 yr to support the company!Yesterday received notice that they could not bill my account! Being very satisfied with the service and waiting 2 months for activation I do not want to lose the service I don’t want to lose it!I tried resetting the payment method did not work!Called my bank they said it was their end so I wrote as support tickedThe gave me some BS saying it was the issuing bank!Spent a hour with my bank to track down the problem and they said it was rejected by Shadow because the billing address did not match….this was not a problem before payment went through many time before!Tried to edit the billing address to match the debit card thier website did not allow me to do thisWrote another support ticked they sent me a link to update my payment!!The page did not allow me to change billing address or reset the debit card!! Like I said love shadow
UK activation timelines
Can someone from Shadow clarify exactly why activations are taking more than 6 months?..Having placed an order I have been given an activation date of the 24th of June, is this correct?? if so why would it take over 6 months to activate.Its a node in a data centre nothing more. I work for a distributor of I.T. equipment in the UK and if a client orders a node to be input into a datacentre it takes 3-5 days to do the build assuming parts are available if not add 2-3 business days for shipping.An engineer can then be assigned to go to site and install and it literally takes them minutes to get it up and running. Even with Covid restrictions in place this makes no sense as engineers/installers work in solitary anyways so its not like they have to worry about overly crowded data centres. Its not due to GPU shortages either as the GPU Shadow use is not a retail based GPU and as such is widely available.Some clarity would be appreciated here please as I am seeing alot of the same questions b
Ultra Activation - 1 year and 3 months of waiting.. for nothing
I have been waiting for more than a year to activate my Shadow Ultra (Paris Datacenter)One year and 3 months..The delivery date has been pushed back many times for unclear reasons.Every time I contact customer service I always get the same unnecessary answer "we'll let you know when the service is ready"I mean, I've been waiting for over a year, I’m loyal and all but I'm seriously starting to doubt the seriousness of this business.I understand the difficulties of the company, but would it be possible to have a clear and detailed reason for this delay?Lack of money ? Technical problems ? Covid?I'm not the only one pointing this out, @NIC, @InstinctCommunity and many others have asked the same questions. But it remains unanswered as usual.Lack of communication is really the worst thing you can do.I hope that the arrival of new investors in two weeks will unlock the pre-orders .. quickly.I love Shadow and I love the service.. but this has been going on for too long and no one is giving us
Why did my GPU change?
When I first setup my Shadow it was a 1080TI gpu now it is showing a Quadro 5000 I kinda feel like I was bait & switched. Why did this happen? Also will this be changed back as i am still being charged the 29.99 per month and not getting any of the 3 tiers of service offered my service is equivelant to the 12.99 tier?
Roughly when can we expect Ultra/Infinite to activate?
I know it says “End of summer 2020”, but does this mean August? September? Could it be tomorrow? The boost upgrades seem to either have already been done or are within the next week-ish. So, should we be expecting to wait much longer for ultra/infinite? I ordered in October 2019
New update on activations?
Hey there.I’m sure this is the N’th new thread about this topic, but I would really like a new update on activations (for me in Amsterdam). Weekly updates are still promised but the last update was 2 months ago. The activation date in my account has now passed and I would like my Shadow activated or a new estimate.Thanks!-Nick
