Information on infinite activation progress

Hi there,

 

so while searching for any official news regarding current activation progress on infinite preorders, I couldn’t find anything.

On german discord servers, moderators said, that the “by end of summer 2020” means the latest activation date.

So I guess it is safe to assume that some/most people will get activated earlier. What is the status here?
Why is there no official post about infinite activation progress?

As mods said, people should be activated by the latest(!) end of summer, this means there should be a lot that’s actually happening right now.

End of summer is about in ~2months.

 

They can’t pull up the same shit they did in February again.

 

Ridiculous enough that there hasn’t been any single official mail with ANY information.

“sorry for the delay we are currently planning xyz”

“our goal is still valid, we are working on abc”
“it will be delayed again / people do already get activated”…

 

Nothing...just nothing.

Because the mods likely know as much as you or I do. We just have to wait and see. Also, the current world events aren’t helping matters either.

The pandemic is still there - somehow - sure, but that doesn’t prevent you from informing and talking to your customers.

Totaly agree with Wellnice. No news at all by this point very upsetting. Should be something by now.

Also why does this forum exist if the moderators arent any more aware of whats happening in Shadow than on Discord? This was supposed to bring the community closer to the development of Shadow.

I don't think anyone expects the preorders for infinite to start tommorrow but some offical news or progress updates would be appreciated. Even better would be a timeline to release, like what happened late last year.

What are the current blockers, what is being done to push past them, some pictures of the build out for infinite in the server rooms or some other interesting tibits about how things are going.

@Lily I completely agree with the OP. Not giving us a status update of ultra/infinite is a bit lame in my opinion. There is always news if You really want to keep us updated!

Why not tell us about the current status, how building the datacenter is coming along, what the current problems and blockers are? Will there be a delay again? I’m fully aware of the current world situation and for me it won’t be a problem to accept another delay.

Is there a problem getting all the hardware? Ok, no problem for me, that could be expected in the current situation. But why not tell us if it is so?

Are there problems with the new configuartions running smooth? Ok, thats to be expected and will need more tweaking. No problem for me.  But why not tell us if that is the case?

Many others and me just would like to know what is going on! My pre-order of ultra is from december 2019 and I need to make a decision now: Get a new gaming pc now or keep waiting for ultra...

I simply wanna know, what is going on, whether there is another delay to be expected or not which at that point they, as a running business, should be 100% able to tell.

I am also thinking about getting a gaming PC and if there is no new information, they may lose me as a customer. As I’m waiting and asking for news for months already, I get the strong feeling they don’t give a shit.

I have a feeling this will end up the same as in February...if everything would go on as expected, there would be people either here or on discord servers, telling others, that they got activated..but nothing for weeks and months.

We just have to be patient and wait, I’m sure they will be posting updates when they have something worthy of updating. If it was delayed they would have likely already updated us.

@Lily That’s the same message we always get. Are you able to reach out to the Shadow team and ask? I’ve tried doing so, even on the live stream Q&A but they seem to always skirt the issue or answer other questions.

As @Costanius and @Wellnice have said, and I agree, you cannot take orders and then have no communication about them for more than half a year now. We have acknowledged that with the pandemic we don’t expect miracles or tight deadlines. We just want some updates, regular ones, even if those turn out to be ‘No progress this week’ or ‘Deadline slipped because of X & Y...’

The team themselves must have an internal timeline, perhaps sharing that would help ease everyone’s concerns. While I don’t expect to be looking to buying or building a new PC myself I can’t help but wonder if Infinite will be cancelled at this point. It seems more likely than it going ahead at this point given there has been nothing about it said recently. 

I’d rather know, than not. And I’d rather Shadow be open about issues and difficulties. There isn’t much we can do to support the team as they work in troubled times other than offer our best wishes. We can’t offer even that if we don’t know what’s happening.

Questions to support are answered with generic responses about not having any information or unable to help.

To be clear Shadow is fairly good at keeping us in the loop about most things. Infinite Preorders being one of the exceptions.

This makes absolutely no sense.

There are so many people waiting, if things would go on as planned, there would be people that get activated from time to time, same as boost.

But there is just nothing.

If the plan is, to activate 90% of the remaining waiting customers all at once (which I highly doubt as it makes absolutely no sense), this is important information that should be shared.

There is something not working as planned at all...and they’re probably just afraid to tell, otherwise, there is no reason not to come up with a short statement like “everything is going well, the schedule is still valid”. 

Also, I thought official staff is available here and would make a statement after seeing this...also nothing.

Sorry to post it like this but i pre ordered the infinite package on release day and by the looks of it i “MIGHT” get this by the end of Summer????? 12 months almost is shocking by any company standards.

And Please Lily unless you work for Shadow don’t insult me with the same lame crap Shadow cant be bothered to tell me in the first place other than read the activation post…….. Starting to get very annoyed with shadow and the customer service.
