Well, I am writing this with absolutely zero hope for a solution to be found here but as I am apparently not allowed to discuss this on the Discord and support has been less than helpful. I am now trying a new avenue.
A simple search here or on the Discord server can show you that people are being randomly banned for crypto mining who very well might not be. I know I for one was not, and any simple look at my Shadow would show that.
Not really sure what else there is to say. I turned my Shadow off the night before, woke up the next day and napped at some point. Around 1 p.m. I received an e-mail saying that “forbidden activity was detected” followed by a ban about 30 minutes later saying that I was stopping Shadow from turning off. My Shadow was not turned on, nor did I ever do anything to stop that. Obviously I believe this to be an error and I see a lot of other people having the same issue. Despite that support sent me an accusatory response basically calling me a dirty crypto miner clearly without even looking into anything. This is clearly an on going issue for months with no resolution. I feel the fact that the “warning” and ban came within such a short window before most people would even be able to respond and do anything speaks to the validity of this ban as it is clearly an error. Had I received a warning and been given time to investigate or speak to support I would have done that as I would never want to do anything to put my use of the system at risk. All I have done on this pc is play Halo, Final Fantasy XIV, Runescape, and Back 4 Blood. That is it.
Random bans for "Crypto mining"
Hello
Just checking by.. you are more than welcome to discuss things on the shadow discords. We, on the shadow discord, would be happy to hear what you and other users want to say. As long as you are using the proper channel to discuss things you are completely fine.
Do you have evidence of them calling you a “dirty crypto miner” or that they did not look into your case before responding or are you being hyperbolic?

Hyperbolic, it was mostly a joke as to that particular aspect. I just felt the way the support answer was given was as if talking to someone in a condescending way without actually looking into anything or caring. I don’t believe anyone is naïve enough to actually believe everyone is falsely accused and that everyone is a victim, of course not. But I can assure you that it really should not take much to see that something is wrong if anyone were to actually look into my case but I feel that it is not going to happen. I would not care so much if I did not know this to be an injustice.

Has support closed your case or is it still ongoing. While they do take cryptocurency mining seriously as it impacts everyone's experience, they also would have sent you emails pertaining to your account status if things were manually reviewed.

I received a warning and a ban about 30 minutes apart. While my Shadow was turned off and I was napping. The ticket I sent they told me it was closed but they did say that my “feedback” would be passed on. Whatever that means. They did mention an investigation but I can’t help but feel that meant nothing considering they called my ticket feedback and said my ticket was closed. I highly doubt my Shadow was accessed by someone other than me, but it is possible, but if it was the case they have done nothing to see if it was.
If support has said that the issue has been escalated then it has been. They have no reason to lie about that, they could have just closed the ticket. You may have received an email from one of the teams in regards to this however it does sometimes take time to manually review a case. Most likely as support can not do anything else on their end the case was closed. I would recommend keeping an eye on your email
As I said, and I will quote directly from the ticket, “Your ticket has received the following response and marked as solved.” I am not saying they lied, but I am saying they did seem to close it. Here is the entire response:
You've received this email because we've detected activity that violates our Terms of Use on your Shadow.
Therefore, your Shadow account has been banned and the data on your Shadow will be deleted within 15 days of termination.
Our teams will not communicate further about detection methods.
As a reminder, here's the link to our Code of Conduct.
Thank you for your message, XXX, and we'll pass on your feedback to our team so they can investigate.
I am not saying they lied, but I cannot help but feel this response does not seem to assure me they are taking appropriate actions.
Have you checked to see if they have emailed you? If it is an abuse related issue support can not help hence the closing of the ticket.
They only stated that they will not communicate about the method of detection. You were banned because of one of those detection methods. Beyond that support is unable to help. They did however say that they were forwarding your issue to one of their teams so unless they say otherwise they are looking into the matter.
