Florida, the third most populated state in the USA, gets its service from its next door neighbor New York (sarcasm). Ping times for most are above 40ms and many, myself included, no longer subscribe to Shadow because of it. Years ago, someone from Shadow said a data center for Florida was planned. Will Florida ever get a data center that could service the South East of the USA?

Hello! Unfortunately, a data center for Florida is not planned in the near future. however you can keep your eyes peeled for OVH building any new data centers as Shadow is closely related to OVH now. That would be your best gauge to see when a data center would be coming.
Good to know.
Fun fact - In America we’d say your reply was somewhere between pointless and worthless.
I’m not a Shadow rep but, if I were in their shoes, I think I would prioritize things that have high requests then things that have little to no requests even if there are a lot of people using it. You should know that I don’t know which one applies here. Although, I don’t see them adding a data center for Florida because it wouldn’t cover a lot of area in comparison to the other 2 data centers. If anything, they would probably put one in Mexico as close to South America as much as possible. Then again, I don’t know how many users they have in South America. Fun fact: South Americans call themselves Americans, as well, and it’ll look like you’re self-centered if you call yourself American when talking to a South American.
