  • Describe the bug (required)
    • Audio will randomly cut out after a large lagspike, requiring me to restart the stream. This can interfere with quite a large number of online games, often disconnecting you. This is especially disruptive during competitive games

  • Steps to reproduce the bug (required)
    • There aren’t steps. It just sometimes happens

  • Application/device, official or beta, and version number (required)
    • Should be windows official 1.7.9… That’s what the quick menu says.

  • Additional Context
    • Not much. Lagspikes aren’t too common but do happen, running at 25mb/s, usually stable. Internet speed is about 60 to 70 usually. Not much else

Hi AdamCF,

Thank you for reporting this bug.

There is a potential fix for this sound issue that we are testing in Alpha.

Could you please download and test the Alpha client to see if the fix works?

Windows (64-bit): https://shdw.me/winalpha

Windows (32-bit): https://shdw.me/win32alpha

Mac: https://shdw.me/macalpha

Linux: https://shdw.me/linuxalpha

If the issue is still happening on the Alpha client, could you provide the following:

  • Screenshot of your stats in Quick Menu when the issue occurs (10-min span preferred)
  • Whether the issue occurs on these settings:
    • High Quality Audio enabled, disabled, or both?
    • Adapt max bitrate to network conditions enabled, disabled, or both?
    • Prefer Speed (UDP), Prefer Reliability (TCP), or both?
  • Send logs from the (?) Help Section of your launcher:

Thank you in advance.

Alright, thanks. I’ll test that out and reply in a couple days, or whenever it happens again

While I haven’t experienced the issue with the alpha version, which is good, my microphone has completely stopped working on both the official and alpha builds since I first used the alpha one.

Hi AdamCF,

Thanks for testing Alpha and I’m glad to hear you’re not experiencing the issue on Alpha so far.

This audio bug will be marked as “Fixed in Alpha” status for now but please let us know if you notice the issue returns. It will still undergo further testing before being released to the official client.

The microphone issue is a separate bug that is a known issue. Our dev team is currently investigating and working on it, and you can follow its status on our Known Issues page under the ‘Windows’ section.
