Video freezes on Apple TV 4K when using the slow connection (H265) mode.

 

Applications/Devices:

Shadow Beta app on the Apple TV 4K

 

Versions:

Shadow app: Beta v3.6.1 (154)

tvOS: v14.4

 

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Start shadow on the Apple TV
  2. Start a game
  3. Play the game and within 2-5 minutes the issue occurs

 

Additional Notes

  • Configured resolution 1080p 60hz
  • Apple TV is using Ethernet
  • Xbox one controller.
  • The configured bandwidth affects the time and when it occurs.  70 Mb/s after 10-30 seconds 15 Mb/s after 3-6 minutes
  • The audio stream and controller are still working when the video freezes

At this time, our team was unable to reproduce the issue that you have described.

Typically for these internet issues, we suggest switching between TCP and UDP modes to see which one works better. 

If you encounter this issue again, I would suggest contacting Shadow Support, http://sso.shadow.tech and submitting a ticket.
