🤩 My dream setup: Raspberry Pi booting straight to Shadow Power's cloud PC. Any update on a native Raspberry client / OS?
Hi, I’m a long term Shadow user, last year I got super excited when Shadow announced an official roadmap item that aimed to support Raspberry Pi devices.Microsoft also announced recently that they are working on a feature that would let your computer boot straight to their cloud PC. Was wondering where the Shadow team got to as has been extremely quiet on this topic? My dream setup: I’d be keen to use the latest Raspberry Pi to replace my trusty (but aging) Shadow Ghost so I can finally run dual 4k monitors from one single thin client. Raspberry Pi would also enable many folks to lower the barrier to entry for affordable, fanless machines - once you’ve tried fanless pcs there’s no going back. The ability to have a Raspberry Pi OS booting straight to my Shadow (like what I can do on Ghost) would be a slick set-up. Don’t want to faff with booting Raspbian and later on having to load another app - am looking for a seamless / native experience. Could mount the Raspberry Pi behind the mon
I too have a Tizen Samsung smart 4k UHD TV and I mean it's not hard for me to plug in my laptop and just boot shadow and still use my TV specs by putting it in game mode at 60 refresh rate at 1920 1080p fluidly but in the terms of having a " smart " TV, it's app developer community is not popular, tho pretty powerful one, amount of apps for it is pitiful and that compatibility I know is there because there's many apps on the app store just seems that nobody's even tried to develop one that actually does anything remotely. other than watch and or """stream"""" Netflix, Amazon, Disney blah blah. No games, so that being said I think it would be pretty revolutionary for tizen OS to have a shadow OS, which would completely make my huge pretty dumb smart TV a smart gaming pctv all in one without the necessity of my laptop through HDMI
So I have this issue with my Shadow on Steam Deck. I can get everything loaded and log in using the Ubuntu version since it's Linux based. It loads fine but when the actual video feed from my Shadow shows up it's really red. It looks like infrared from Predator. I've contacted support who advised that other users who have had a similar issue have disabled the rgb10 drivers to make it work. They then gave me a link to a Reddit page ( https://www.reddit.com/r/ShadowPC/comments/tsx9b6/shadow_works_great_on_steam_deck/ ) where someone said basically the same thing. The problem I'm having is there is basically zero explanation on how to actually do this so I need some help with how to actually do this. A step by step would be awesome if anyone knows how. I'm sure this would be helpful to many people who have or will get a Steam Deck.
Hi shadows user,Debian (linux) and freebsd (unix) user,I always have problems with native applications, because it always corresponds to a very specific version of a distribution and we almost always have problems even with the distribution to recommend, a web version even restraining will not be more suitable for linux users and other unsupported system, just to know if a web applicationpotentially replacement for ubuntu 18.04 which will end long term support in april 2023,What do you think ?
😀 Will Shadow ever consider developing an app for Xbox? This has come across my mind a lot, and it would actually be the perfect solution for me. I use my Xbox Series X on my desk and have it connected to my monitor/keyboard/mouse for gaming. If I could run Shadow PC on it, then it becomes a full gaming PC for me as well! That would save me the $$$ to buy another gaming PC and also save the space on my desk. Will this be a dream come true one day, or will this stay as a dream forever? 😂
I have put up with the shortcomings as far as using it on the Chromebook. The keys not binding, my inability to use shortcuts, the slow mouse at times that requires me to readjust, the useless scroll button, and I can’t use touch properly. But now, since the latest update, it’s flickering at times, making Shadow a paying service that I can’t use properly on a Chromebook, the main reason I got the Chromebook. So, is there some way that this is going to get fixed?Bad enough that Chromebooks are hardly supported, even though there’s a big message about it in the updates.
Hey mates! Currently I’m using app store market from the country where this app is not presented for mobile devices. Is it any chance to download mobile app not from Apple app store? (TestFlight or something similar).Changing the region in app store isn’t an option for me since I already have some paid subscriptions. Thanks in advance!
I want to know if it is possible to connect Oculus Quest to a computer running Shadow client. I know that there is a VR app for Oculus Quest but I’d like to use it with ethernet and since the OTG ethernet feature was removed from headset the only way I can think of is connecting to PC which has an ethernet connection.
Hi, so i got this old computer Click here for specification and i run it with an old Gpu (Nvidia 9800 GT). Ive been playing some games on it with Shadow, mostly Borderland and nowlots of Tiny Tina Wonderlands, but i notice that i lag alot, my internet is stable 1000/1000, so im all aware its about my crappy hardware. Do you guys have any idea what i might replace in this PC in order for it to perform better in shadow? like an ssd? give me ideas, i wont buy another computer, i just want this one to perform better than it does. Having a hard time telling what components that are compatible and so on. If you were stuck with this PC, what would u start with to change in order to perform better in Shadow? i dont wanna buy a new motherboard with cpu and stuff. So whats your thoughts?
Hey Shadow Fam! Wondering if anyone has pre-ordered the Steam Deck and how they plan to use their Shadow on it. Also will Shadow have an explicit partnership to ensure quality experience on the Steam Deck? VERY curious to hear thoughts from the Shadow Team and Community! CHeers!
Hi!This is more à feature request than a bug report.First of all: Shadow is working great on Chromecast with Google TV, so thank you for that! The only frustrating thing is that I was not able to switch to headphones thru my game controller…Indeed, Chromecast does not seem to redirect the audio to that jack audio out port, when I plug headphones into it. Except in the Stadia app, of course ;-)As the Shadow client seems to recognize the type of game controller, would it be possible to switch Windows audio output to the headphones port of the controller?
Hi Shadow Community! I can’t get Wolfenstein 2 (Steam) to launch… It runs through the titles but then get stuck on a black screen with the audio playing. It’s probably a problem with the game, was really poorly optimised on my old gaming machine but just wondered if anyone has had any luck getting it to work?
So you’re trying to connect your controller to your Shadow but can’t seem to figure out how? Here are some links to popular controllers we support, and how to connect them. How to connect a controller (Xbox, PS4, Nintendo and other controllers) We also have another post here that you might like! There are a ton of devices that can be supported by Shadow. For example, here are a few uncommon accessories that the community tested out and that worked: 8Bitdo SF30 Pro Controller, HOTAS, Thrustmaster T150, and even the iPega 9023 Gamepad! You can help others by posting about your favorite accessories or asking questions! Be sure to check out our ‘How to post’ topic in our “Getting Started” category.
Yes, you can play Shadow on many, many, many devices. Yes, it is amazing. Will it work on your car’s screen? Who knows! Well… us and the rest of the #TeamShadow might know! In order to help each other out, please tell us in the comment section below which device you successfully used Shadow on! And to answer your question: we do have specific hardware and software requirements to make Shadow work that should tell you if it will work on your device: Device Requirements for Shadow And if you’re feeling generous, we’d love to see you come by the Shadow Setups topic to share pictures of your device experimentations. 🙃
Hi everyone, I know that Windows 11 isn’t officially supported by Shadow yet but I installed it months ago and my Shadow seems to be working just fine since then, in fact I’d say that most of the time it’s been working better than with Windows 10.Any thoughts?
This idea mainly comes from the newly added second screen support. I mostly use Shadow on my iPad Pro w/keyboard, and have my iPhone docked vertically on the desk next to me. I’d love to be able to move a social media window (like Twitter or Reddit) over to it. My iPhone 12 mini is a bit too small to read anything in landscape mode. Same goes for the iPad. When I don’t have it in my Magic Keyboard case, I’d like to be able to rotate it and have Windows automatically adjust. I don’t expect full tablet support (I’m sure that would have been done already if it were possible), but would be nice to have.
