Hey y’all I just started learning Blender for a research project. I found that using shadow on my iPad has led to some really cool tricks with the Apple Pencil and blender. I don’t know too much but I thought it would be great to start a thread for people to ask questions and help each other in learning blender.
I’m waiting for my activation and am curious what experiences you have had using Blender on Shadow. I guess since you’re new to Blender you haven’t had a chance to do much. But I’m curious what you think so far. Blender is the main reason why I am signing up with Shadow.
Same here. Modeling in Blender on my 2013 iMac got a bit sluggish lately (especially with a high polygon count) so I thought I had no choice than to build myself a powerful PC. But then I found out about Shadow PC. If I would buy or build my own PC I would have to maintain it, updating and upgrading various hard- and software etc. for years to come. But then I realized it would be much cheaper and MUCH easier to ‘rent’ a PC which would be maintained by somebody else. I’m a proud owner of my own Shadow PC for only three days but I’m already very happy with it. Connection works like a charm. It recognizes my Apple Magic Mouse. However I can’t swipe left or right so I use the ‘alt’ key to rotate. I also connected my Wacom Intuos (through USB) and installed the driver on the Shadow PC-side. So now I can also use Grease Pencil. I’ll keep you posted about my findings.
Yeah I have a 4/5 year old PC. High poly counts and/or complicated shaders slow my PC down. I also really don’t want to have to shop for and maintain a computer. Also I can do stuff on the old PC that takes less memory while I do renders.I just have to wait until July.

Originally I was told that I had to wait until august. But luckily I got my activation this week ! Maybe you’ll get your activation soon as well. (I live in Amsterdam)
