Hi guys,
Is it possible to get Dolby and / or DTS passthrough through Shadow, or does it only use Stereo output?
It’d be pretty awesome to use the surround options with some games.
Thanks for the help!

View originalI’m curious about this, too.
Are there any games which use DTS? I’m not aware of any, but am aware of some that use Dolby. However, those same games will use Windows’ spacial audio features when available, and use multichannel PCM when the PC is connected to a capable sound system.
When I use Shadow on such a PC (connected via HDMI to a sound system with all formats supported, which then passes the video to an LG TV), surround sound via multichannel PCM does work, but the Shadow VM doesn’t show the spacial audio features of Windows being used. So, I’m not sure how they are pulling it off.
I do not believe this is possible as of yet. There is the high quality audio setting, no idea if that will be able to enable this.

Yeah, same here. I use a receiver with hdmi and another hdmi cable that runs to a projector.
Windows within Shadow recognises multichannel, but when I do a sound test only stereo sound is played.
I was wondering if there would be a difference in connecting with an hdmi to usb-c cable. Haven't been able to try it yet, because I don't have one.
I’m returning to this thread in shame - I mistakenly believed that real surround-sound was working via some proprietary method (outside of standard Windows’ spacial audio), using the Windows client on a properly equipped/connected PC.
If you’d like to confirm this for yourself, consult the game list at http://satsun.org/audio/ and enter a place in the game which can verify if true surround-sound is working.
For my testing this evening, I was running Tomb Raider (2013)...all you have to do is run its benchmark. The camera rotates around Lara, and her breathing is only supposed to be heard from the front speakers. During my test, her breathing was coming out of the rear speakers, too.
Apologies for the misinformation! I do hope they add proper spacial audio support at some point. It works properly when using Nvidia’s GeForce NOW from a Shield TV, but their game library is quite limited. Spacial audio doesn’t work in the GFN Windows client, either.

Thanks for the update.
I had the exact same problem when simply testing the 5 speakers in Windows under shadow. The same two speakers were constantly repeated instead of soundtesting all of them.
I've talked to someone on discord who said he got it to work by using an usb c to hdmi cable to connect his amplifier, but I haven't seen or heard prove. I don't have a cable like that lying around so I can't test this theory.
