Hey There….

I would like to know this as well. I also have the T300 but I'm not activated yet….

I only play racegames and probably ACC in particular…. Really need this to work.

so please someone be helpful and make it work…. :grinning:

Also… does the T300 work with ghost?

All the best,

Marvin

Hey there, generally speaking racing wheels can work via the USB over IP feature that needs to be enabled in the Quick Menu. However, they’re also very upload bandwidth intensive which can cause issues (aside from not being recognized by Shadow)

HEllo,

Any news about the steering wheels and shadow?

I had shadow since few days and impossible to connect my T80 (yes I know it’s an old steering wheel lol).

It is recongnized as a USB pripheric but impossible to detect it qith the T80 driver and in games. I only try F1 2020.

@Reno Steering wheels are considered advanced peripherals and usually require a high upload speed and aren’t guaranteed to work with Shadow at this time.  You’re more than welcome to reach out to our support team to see if they can offer you any other solutions.

I’m already in contact with the support but I think it will be nice to have opinions of other customers :)

Hi Guys, Same here unable to connect my Fanatec DD1 set-up. As I don’t want to buy a large hardware system, Shadow is not my solution to my problem. Unless there is a solution coming up, regarding the upload…?

@Roti-Chicken you could use an ethernet cable to connect to your local pc, fixed every issue with me. Taking into account I have a really good internet bandwidth. (I have more then 100 Mbps)

For many people it’s not the download speed the problem (I have more than 125Mbps) it’s the upload.

It seems the optimal upload speed is about 20/25Mbps for steeringwheels.

Yeah you are totally right; although I did not mention it in this reply, I left a comment under logitech steering wheel | Community (shadow.tech) explaining how maybe as long as you invest on an ethernet cable, you bypass the common problems that comes with latency when it comes to partitioning your bandwidth across your devices. And maybe it’ll solve that problem for a lot more people.

I use an adaptor ethernet to USB-C too, maybe that too makes a difference.

With that said my settings on the launcher are:

Bit Rate = You can leave it at auto if you got more than 40 Mbit/s but I just leave it on max settings since I got a good connection; I have been playing around with Auto Adapting bit rate but I haven’t seen much difference on my end. Maybe tuning it on would be a good idea.

Streaming Preferences = prefer reliability (I get a lot of audio issues when using the wheel and when using ‘prefer speed’ I have a lot of trouble getting Shadow to recognize the wheel), my latency does increase on the charts by a few ms just a bit but it is not even noticeable when playing.

Audio Quality = If you’re having trouble, leave it on regular since higher quality would use more bandwidth but it should not be an issue.

I think most importantly, one should try as low end configurations as your devices can handle and work from there. I mostly play on iRacing so I’m constantly hoping Shadow does not break on me in the middle of a race. But I play constantly almost every day with no issues at all.

Anybody have some news about this problem?

Today I have my new connexion with 400Mbps download and 20Mbps upload, my steering wheels is still not detected by shadow…

Any help from shadow tech could be nice….. I take shadow for playing simulation games and it’s impossible...

Your download and upload isn’t nearly as important as your ping.

https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test/

If your ping is above 30, you will not be able to use USB over IP very well at all, and many devices, like a wheel, simply won’t work.

Ping between 18 and 19ms

Then you need to set it up as a USB over IP device, install the drivers on the Windows device you’re running the client on, and stuff like that. Have you done so?

No because I’ve no idea of what is that.

But I pay for a service I would like it to be complete and don’t have to make some “DIY”.

It’s a setting within the client and this feature is part of the service. You have to install it for it to work, though. Same as installing the client in order to connect, you have to install this part of it if you want to use a USB device.

Also, upon reviewing that article, it looks like high upload speed is needed for racing wheels (I didn’t know). So your 20mbps upload may not be enough. Still, I hope it works for you.
