Hi All, Started playing Doom Eternal on my Shadow Boost and loving it! But recently when launching it comes up with a window asking me to upgrade my Nvidia Quadro drivers up too the most up to date ones. Says I have an older version installed. I thought Shadow kept the drivers up to date normally (Yes I have that option checked to auto update Windows and Graphics Drivers) So wondering, should I update them manually? Doom Eternal runs without issues other than the box asking to either upgrade or run anyway.
Seeing Ultra and Infinite activations pushed back again. I am concerned that current hardware will soon become obsolete while customers wait for Blade to play catchup again for 6 months? A year? So my question is, is there a roadmap with clear deadlines and planned hardware upgrade scheme? Can we expect our service to keep up with the software demands in six months or a year? Thank you for your time and concern regarding this matter.
I had my first experience in attempt to render a high resolution single image for a world map and was cut off. The image was being rendered in the Eevee engine and it said it was going to take about 38 minutes. I understand that if a user is idle that you turn them off to save resources. However I was actually using Shadow for the reason why I signed up for it in the first place. My original attitude of satisfaction of this service has vanished.
Hi all, Please can you recommend a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for the Shadow Ghost? Do they work by connecting to the Shadow Ghost box directly or via a usb dongles? Are you able to pair keyboard, mouse and controller via Bluetooth at the same time? Thanks Will
Running Shadow (Ubuntu) on ChromeOS. So far, so good. This is going to be an experiment that I will do on my spare time, but so far, this is my result.I managed to get the Shadow.AppImage after a few trials and error. The mouse is working properly (you have to lock it) and works slightly better than the Android App as it recognize the input from the mouse better than the Android app and it works at native speeds. Can’t seem to get the start button to work, but it is a first run. I’ll have more to say on this later.
Any plans to support connecting to Shadow with a browser (e.g., Chrome)? The desktop client works fine, but one thing I really like about Stadia is the ability to jump into a game easily if I’m on a different machine without having to download anything. I realize things like peripheral support may not be possible in a pure browser scenario, but in my opinion that’s a worthwhile tradeoff.
I have put up with the shortcomings as far as using it on the Chromebook. The keys not binding, my inability to use shortcuts, the slow mouse at times that requires me to readjust, the useless scroll button, and I can’t use touch properly. But now, since the latest update, it’s flickering at times, making Shadow a paying service that I can’t use properly on a Chromebook, the main reason I got the Chromebook. So, is there some way that this is going to get fixed?Bad enough that Chromebooks are hardly supported, even though there’s a big message about it in the updates.
Related Info: Fiber connection 100+Mb (virgin Media) Using Shadow Ghost on WiFi Hi community, I have been struggling to find the perfect setup for connection reliability for my Shadow. I have been recently working from home and have been using my MSI laptop for streaming my Shadow PC. I have have minor issues with it but mainly due to my powerline adapter, sometimes the connection drops to an usable state and I have to swap to WiFi, but my MSI only connects to 2.4Ghz connection. I have decided to plug my Ghost back in and use this over the WiFi at 5Ghz connection. I have checked my router settings and it shows the Ghost on a 5Ghz connection, it has an as good a speed as my Samsung S10+ but, when I login and run a automatic speed test it suggests to run with around 10Mb bandwidth? There aren’t many devices on the network that would cause the connection to deteriorate, but it is becoming more frustrating to use. Using my ghost, I have to constantly restart the streaming because t
I don’t need to explain Docker and its benefits, those at Shadow reading this already understand the value of Docker virtualization.I have had Shadow for over a year, and don’t have any major complaints. The recent price increase has put me in position to look at other options. I am at a cross roads where am considering replacing Shadow with a new high-end PC that can do Docker (and other things) that Shadow does not currently support. I got Shadow as a personal test drive to see if it would be a good alternative to buying a new high end gaming system. For over the past year, the answer has been yes. The answer has shifted to” “Questionable” because of the price increase.I understand that Shadow is geared toward gaming and is not intended for virtualization technology such as Docker. To justify the increase in monthly expense I would like to be able to do more than just gaming partly because I am spending money on other cloud services to get technology that Shadow currently does not su
Hey All - This is my first post, but I didn’t see this being discussed yet. Has anyone been playing Valheim on Shadow? I have had Shadow for 6 months or so, and overall its been a fantastic service and games play wonderfully. However Valheim has had mediocre performance. Admittedly I ussually play on 4K resolution (i have base level Shadow). However dropping down to 1080p has not made much of a difference. I am usually getting around 30 FPS. If I drop all settings to absolute minimum with lower resolution i can get maybe 50 FPS. It’s not an overly graphical game, and I dont see the computer system manager spiking too much.Anyone else had similiar experience? Any tips to increase the FPS?
Hello. I am curious to know if Shadow will work with Windows 11. (Windows 11 on my personal PC, not Shadow) I normally download the insider builds on my personal computer. But I want to know if I should stick with Windows 10 beforehand. Will Shadow have issues at all - USB peripheral / drivers installation, graphics and audio issues, xbox controller compatibility, or if Shadow freezes a lot, and more laggy-ness?? Any answers and criticism would be welcome. Thank you all.
