Ahoi dear fellow users of the photonless universe,

I needed dual display support for my setup so i wrote a quick guide for everyone interested in doing the same. And before anyone complains, yes the native client main display is better for gaming because of the higher refresh rate (spacedesk has 30 FPS), BUT for anything besides fast paced First Person Shooter it is good enough.

All you need is ZeroTier (https://www.zerotier.com/) and spacedesk (https://spacedesk.net/).

  1. Setup a private network in ZeroTier (great guide found here => https://support.paperspace.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004997928-How-to-Create-a-VPN-tunnel-with-ZeroTier-Windows- )

  2. Install ZeroTier on your PC and Shadow AND accept network sharing

  3. Join the network created in step 1 AND Authorize the clients!

  4. Install spacedesk Server on your shadow and restart

  5. Install spacedesk Viewer on your PC and restart

  6. Open your Shadow to make sure spacedesk DRIVER is running (check in Taskbar by clicking on > "show hidden icons")

  7. Open spacedesk Viewer and your server should already show up as connectable device

  8. Connect to the display in spacedesk Viewer

  9. In your Shadow, a second display is now allowable in display settings

  10. Set the Resolution to 1920 X 1080 , apply settings

  11. Drag the spacedesk window to your secondary screen and press "ALT + Enter" for full screen

  12. Enter full screen mode in Shadow Client on your main display

Congratulations you have a fully working two display Shadow with a secondary screen.

If you have any questions feel free to read again in case you missed anything or ask if i forgot anything.

Okay so the second screen caps at 30 fps or both screens after connecting?

spacedesk, the software used for secondary screen, caps at 30 fps. This has effect on your native client.

Thanks, and yet the Reddit moderator removed my post instantly. I use Shadow as my daily driver with this setup and it is rock solid.

You, my friend.. Are AWESOME.

These programs are easy to install, i tried it without Tutorial and Videos, works like a charm.
You’ll notice the fps cap, but that is not bad for the most usages of a second screen, letting Discord run or a Stream Manager will be perfect.

Thanks.. for the Peace you gave me until dual screen is supported on its own! ;)
