Hey #TeamShadow,

Sorry to bug you but, we have an exciting announcement for you forum-goers:

The Bug Reporting category is now live!
https://shdw.me/bug_reporting

This new category is the perfect place to see if anyone else has run into a similar issue as you, as well as to share those rare bugs you stumble across when Shadow is misbehaving.

You can also:

  • Get your bug directly in dev hands and feedback on reproducible issues
  • Earn a cool badge for bugs that are qualified as bugs by our dev team
  • Meet new bug squashing buddies with similar issues and learn quick tips
  • Help build Shadow to be the best it can be!

Smaller bugs will have a home to gather in, and larger bugs will have more details to inform Devs when testing.  We’ll aim to acknowledge all your posts as best we can, while maintaining their status according to development updates.

To do so, we ask a few favors:

  • Check for duplicates before posting.

    • Duplicates will be merged/removed

    • If you find another user with the same issue, reply with your bug information to that issue thread

Then complete a few requirements to post in the category:

  • Describe the bug

  • List steps to reproduce the bug

  • Provide the application/device, official or beta, and version number

Example: Windows official Launcher v4.14.19 Client v3.2.17

  • Additional Context

    • Logs, DXDiag, connection speedtest, etc..

And you’re all set to post your first issue!

If you’re aiming to be a master bug hunter, we encourage you to subscribe to the Bug Reporting category to get email notifications whenever there’s a new topic to investigate.

Those most curious about the status of individual issues can follow the status of the bug using this guide:

  • New - Newly reported (initial status)

  • Under Review - We’re looking at it

  • Attempting Reproduction - We’re testing it

  • Block - Unable to reproduce, needs more information

  • Backlog - On the roadmap but not actively being worked on at this time

  • Working - We’re working on a fix

  • Resolved - Bug has been fixed

Now that you have an idea of how to help us catch these bugs, we offer you...thIS!

*tosses hand-made wooden net*

With that and the gumption of a horned dung beetle storming into battle, you’re on your way to hunt all the rare bugs our Devs are scouring for.

Happy adventuring, #TeamShadow!
