Any Playstation Now users via Shadow?

So I’ve been using Shadow for coming up to a year. I recently got a sub for Playstation Now. I first installed it on my laptop PC but would like to use it in the Shadow. Has anyone done this? I tried it once before but back then the Shadow had trouble recognizing my PS4 Dualshock controller.

I know I have to download the DS4Windows thingie and so forth on the Shadow to get started on this, but before I begin all that is there anyone here who does PS Now on their Shadow? And if so, do you have any tips?

I believe you have to somehow make the controller pop up as a PS controller.

Hi @BKinsky ,

I use PS Now & Stadia through Shadow iPad client using a PS4 or Xbox One controller via Bluetooth.

I use a software called reWASD. (14day trial on their page or 6€ for a basic license).

reWASD allows you to turn the controller into a virtual PS4 controller on shadow.

Gyro & Touchpad won’t work, but you will be able to re-assign touchpad click & the Home button to any key combination.

I have mapped the following using the virtual ps4 layout

L1&R1&X to Home PS4 (make sure steam is not running or you have disabled steam’s use of the home button in desktop mode)

L1&R1&O to Touchpad Click PS4

L1&R1&Square to F12 Keyboard for stadia capture

L1&R1&Circle to F11  Keyboard for Fullscreen/Window toggle in PS Now & Stadia

Since you are using a PS4 controller make sure that Shadow’s new PS4 feature is disabled.

In addition Xbox controller seems to have issues recognizing complex key combos.

ps: it seems that rewasd added gyro emulation support with their 5.3 release recently.
I haven’t tried that feature yet.

Thanks for this, it’s very helpful. Just a question. Does reWasd work with a DualShock 4 controller to make windows recognize it? Better than DS4windows?

yes it is recognized as a ds4 controller  so the mapping shows the ps symbols

i cant speak for ds4windows, i havent used it

the gyro doesnt work but one could remap

OK, so far so good. I have downloaded Rewasd. Remapped the touchpad to a key (M) and the home button to another key (P).

Have also downloaded and installed Playstation Now. All works, except the remapping of the M key to the touchpad.

I wonder if this is because when I remap there are four sections of the touchpad. And I only selected one? Do I need to do all of those?

Or is it because the Shadow is recognizing my PS4 controller (but not the touchpad)? You mention I need to disable that feature of the Shadow but I don’t see where/how to do that. I can’t find the Shadow Control Panel anymore and on the launcher I have tried to disable peripherals but doesn’t seem to do it. Is there an area I’m missing?

Basically I can do PS Now as long as I don’t use the trackpad but I need it for some games. I feel I’m close to solving this, just need the last little push!

For the touch pad there are multiple options. You need to select the one where the center dot is highlighted instead of the corner segments

i think the key is called touchpad in the ps sectioN

The touchpad & home button & gyro will not work on bluetooth. All you can do is assign their functions to another workable key.

if you are in the rewasd interface with your ps4 controller selected (bottom left) then click a key/button on the controller. If the input is recognized a window will popup where you can assign a funtion to it. In the rewasd interface next to the ps symbol you will see an icon a+b. This menu allows you to configure input combos.  Eg l1+r1+o = touchpad

Thanks! But I still have to ‘make sure that Shadow’s new PS4 feature is disabled’. How do I do that?

Thanks for all your help so far, Gaijin!

That’s on iOS TestFlight client. If it is enabled rewasd recognizes the ps4 controller as an Xbox 360 controller. If it’s disable it shows as DualShock 4

I’m not sure about pc but on Mac you access the menu via cmd o+ option + o

so I guess the pc equivalent is windows + alt + o

And it worked! Thank you so much to Gaijin for your help here!

Hello,

I talked to support, and they said that will be submit a query to dev staff to solve this issue, but until now nothing!!! I need the touchpad and ps button to work.. I play PlayStation Now on Shadow too… I used flexihub to play, and the touchpad and ps button worked, but too laggy… any solution until now?

Check above, the solution to making PSNow is all there with screenshots. Or at least it worked for me!

the touchpad slipping too? For example, to play Until Dawn, needs to slide at touchpad to pass in some parts of the game…

Oh, that I don’t know. You’d have to look at rewasd app and see. The good news is that it has a 15 day free trial which is what I’m on.

The latest version supports remapping of ds 4 swipe, zoom and taps. I have not tried these myself yet. You’d follow the same set-up only while setting up key combos you’d set them to swipes, zooms, taps instead of home and touchpad click.

What is the delay when in PS Now? Is it playable? Thanks

I don’t game competitively and have only played Rocket League in Multiplayer, but I didn’t have a problem. Certainly had hardly any problems with games like Spiderman, Uncharted, God of War etc. Every once in awhile when I was on wifi it stuttered a bit. But rarely.
