Is this actually a gaming PC or do you just work with it?

Since I get under 5 FPS in any RTX game and have performance that’s worse than my 2019 gaming PC.

Are these PCs actually meant to play anything halfway recent? E.g. Control, or FS2021? Nothing above medium settings and non RTX works for me.

If I want that I could have just kept using my PC, at least that doesn’t have a 40 ms input lag from sending data across four state-lines…

Just trying to figure out if I’m meant to use it for bitcoin mining and CAD rendering rather than gaming.

After discussing this with support; Nvidia won’t let you have RTX cards for commercial use. Ergo Shadow PCs can’t have RTX cards or features.

 

So essentially you pay $30 a month for a medium-class gaming PC that does pretty okay with most games, just that it has a horrible input lag and doesn’t make use of it’s $3,000 video card unless you just throw a bitcoin miner onto it when you don’t use it.

3 fps in Control RTX for $30 a month (Shadow)

60 fps in Control RTX for $10 a month (Stadia)

I don’t have high hopes for you, Shadow…

 

 

That’s simply not true. I was a shadow ultra subscriber a few years ago. It included an Nvidia RTX graphics card. I was able to play Control RTX with all the ray tracing features. Since then shadow discontinued the RTX Servers and sold them off.

Are you saying that Stadia has RTX for commercial use even though you’re saying Nvidia won’t let you have RTX cards for commercial use?  If Nvidia is the problem, then how does Stadia have it but Shadow can’t?

Hi all,

When I see Shadow, my needs are not gaming.

It’s a possibility to have a good computer in the cloud.

And I am plenty satisfy; I can work on my SF novels and my articles with all my “heavy” softwares anywhere. 

Have you seen the price for Windows 365? Shadow is not so expensive.

Then for gaming, I use steam and Geforce Now.

I will test later gaming with Shadow.

Shadow currently uses GTX 1080s or equivalent (NVIDIA Quadro P5000). Newer generation Quadro cards do support RTX and can (could, may) be implemented into Shadow in the future. Hardware upgrades are planned and we will get some more information later this year about some more details.

Yes its a cloud gaming pc where you can play  and edit videos
