As it’s one of the biggest releases of 2020, and one of the most demanding and beautiful, I thought it’d be good to have a discussion going!

I’m personally having little luck! The full install is a massive 152Gb, which unfortunately is greater than the (roughly) 125Gb you have available with Shadow if just keeping the essential files. Doesn’t look like additional storage is available at the moment so I’m out of luck.

Has anybody else had any joy with it? Would be a great title to show off :)

How are you all finding the game?  I am on Boost and i am finding the game very juttery, intermittent frame reduction etc.  What settings are people using?

Im on boost also and the lowest preset.  the game uses all the ram and crashes. i cant even play it

Very strange. I'm on basic and running on Ultra I'm getting 25fps in 'normal' areas and around 15-20 FPS in the high Def cities (whatever they are called). This was with thunderstorm at 100% and at sunset, whilst flying through broken cloud low-level over Rome. I was pushing it…

I'm also on wireless so have added latency from WiFi.

Frame rate wasn't perfect by any means but I could get from A to B without an issue...this isn't exactly twitch gameplay so don't need high frame rate.

Do you have the latest Nvidia drivers?

I would try completely uninstalling (make sure it is not running in Task Manager and ensure that you remove all components from ‘Add or Remove Programs’ and the remove (or check they have gone) the folders and contents of:

  • %AppData%\Local\FlightSimulator
  • %AppData%\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe

My understanding is that when it installs for the first time, the installation software downloads 2GB packages at a time, unpacks from there to the destination install folder and then removes the downloaded package. So, in my previous post in the thread about setting up VHDX, when the installer is good to go and starts downloading packages, it does that to my %AppData%\Local\Packages\ on my C: Drive, I leave that to the default. It installed fine and much faster than I thought it would.

I did try to pause that second phase of install and resume the following day but that did not work.
