What Games Do We Officially Support?

First, let’s make things right. Shadow is not a library of games. And that’s a good thing. Because it’s much much more!

Why? Just because.

But also:

👉 On Shadow, you can play any game from Steam, EpicStore, etc. pretty much any game launcher you like!

👉 You’re more of an Indie game player? We’ve got you covered: you can download your favorite games on Shadow!

👉 And of course, do much more than gaming. But if you’re here, we bet you already knew that!

So yes, Shadow can support pretty much any game under specific conditions: as long as Shadow meets the hardware requirements for a specific game and the developer allows virtualization, we’re all set!

That being said, you wanted us to publish a list of games that we tried on Shadow. Unfortunately, we don’t have someone (yet?) to try ALL the games that exist on Shadow (if we do, please help me get that job). In the meantime, here is a list of popular games among Shadow users:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

  • League of Legends

  • Grand Theft Auto V

  • Fortnite

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

  • Destiny 2

If you try a game that isn’t on this list, please let us know in the answers below!

Shadow is designed in a way that makes it possible to play any and all games that you would be able to play on any physical PC.

Lately there have been some issues with a small handful of games, which also happen to be very popular games. These issues are based around the fact that the shadow pc runs in a Virtual machine(VM).
(So like imagine if you were using a mac computer, and decided you wanted to use windows so you download an app that opens a windows desktop within the mac desktop. )

So I just tried to find the post that shows all the confirmed games that don’t work as of currently, but for some reason it’s been moved and brings up a 404. That being said I am pretty sure I remember the list.

  • Red dead redemption 2 - had issues with crashing on the main menu after a recent patch, may or may not have been fixed but I don’t believe so.
  • Valorant - my understanding of this is that the anti-cheat software does not allow VMs, therefore as you may have guessed it prevents valorant from running on shadow.
  • Genshin Impact - this game blocks VMs, apparently because one could use a VM on their existing desktop to abuse the game’s systems (if I recall correctly)
  • Xbox game pass games - I’m not entirely sure about this one, although reports suggest there are problems with trying to download games from game pass.

There may be one or two others I can’t remember completely off the top of my head.
I’ve played a lot of games on shadow and so here’s a list of games that have worked great:

  • Terraria
  • Minecraft
  • ARK
  • CSGO
  • R6: Siege
  • MGSV
  • Death Stranding
  • All call of duty games
  • All battlefield games
  • GTAV
  • LoL
  • Star Phantasy Online 2 (Microsoft store)
  • Overwatch
  • SW: Battlefront 1&2
  • Apex Legends
  • Fortnite
  • Dauntless
  • Spellbound
  • Rocket League
  • Rogue Company
  • Escape from Tarkov
  • Star citizen
  • Elite Dangerous
  • No Man’s Sky
  • TF2
  • Gmod
  • Literally any indie game I’ve ever played
  • Literally any game I’ve attempted to play on steam
  • Literally any game I’ve attempted to play on Epic Games
  • Literally any game I’ve attempted to play on Origin, Uplay and Blizzard.

As you can see, it’s exactly the same as if I had my own physical pc and can choose/play games at will. Ironically I have never played the games that are experiencing issues, and it does suck that some games block VMs and aren’t putting enough effort into helping the shadow gamers out. Hopefully this will change with our new ceo, I have faith.

P.S. even before shadow had 3 different options (worse than current boost tier) I could run any game on mostly high, half of that on ultra and some on medium. Being lucky enough to have pre-ordered Ultra early and getting it in march earlier this year I’ve been able to run anything I throw at it on ultra max settings 1080p@60fps.
With the exception of star citizen, because that game currently isn't designed to run at more than 25fps lol

Sorry for the length, hope this helps!

Thess where all play be me on shadow boast with 60 to 80 FPS and most of all games are on a high to ultra setting @ 1920 x 1080

Some of these game im sure I could move to ultra but they are just as good on high settings with no lag in video or sound quality.

The only problem I have come across is with multi-player and getting my microphone to work and thats it

Dayz --- high to ultra setting

Assassins Creed Valhalla-- high setting ( started playing 11/10/20 )

Fallout 4 -- high setting

Anno 1800 -- high setting

Gta V - high setting

State of Decay 2 -- ultra

Frostpunk -- high setting

Survive the Aftermath-- high setting

Grounded -- high setting

I’ve played FFXIV, City of Heroes, and World of Warcraft so far on the Shadow, plus a few emulator games. Everything seems to play well except FFXIV seems less smooth than the others for some reason. I’m not sure why. FFXIV is perfectly playable mind you, and the in-game fps tracker shows my fps over 100, it’s just that on my screen its not as buttery smooth looking as WoW or CoH.

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 3

Tiny Tina Wonderlands

Age of Empires 4

Skyrim

Dual Universe works great! I am currently running 5 accounts through my Shadow servers while I play my main character off my local computer.   Shadow’s Nvidia Proton 5000 video cards rocks my characters daily.  I am so glad that I found Shadow over GeForce Now.

No te preocupes, ¡te tenemos cubierto!
