What Games Do We Officially Support?

First, let’s make things right. Shadow is not a library of games. And that’s a good thing. Because it’s much much more!

Why? Just because.

But also:

👉 On Shadow, you can play any game from Steam, EpicStore, etc. pretty much any game launcher you like!

👉 You’re more of an Indie game player? We’ve got you covered: you can download your favorite games on Shadow!

👉 And of course, do much more than gaming. But if you’re here, we bet you already knew that!

So yes, Shadow can support pretty much any game under specific conditions: as long as Shadow meets the hardware requirements for a specific game and the developer allows virtualization, we’re all set!

That being said, you wanted us to publish a list of games that we tried on Shadow. Unfortunately, we don’t have someone (yet?) to try ALL the games that exist on Shadow (if we do, please help me get that job). In the meantime, here is a list of popular games among Shadow users:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

  • League of Legends

  • Grand Theft Auto V

  • Fortnite

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

  • Destiny 2

If you try a game that isn’t on this list, please let us know in the answers below!

I've been testing some of the more buggy and intensive games I own on Shadow, and they run great. Cranked all of the Bethesda Fallout Games up to high or ultra, and was able to play lag free for the most part, all lag and frame jumping I have is from my computer which turned 8 or so this year, with it's rickety old Mobo and processor (i5 2300 3.10 GHz 6M, set in an old ASUS Mobo) it just doesn't take kindly to speedy demands despite my best efforts

However, using shadow for Android on my phone, I get 💯 lag free picture, every time. As for crashes, I've had very few, and each of the Fallout games is running a massive amount of mods and graphical improvements such as 4k texture packs and script extensions. Even so shadow delivers a buttery smooth picture and virtually lag free input environment. Even with it's much newer than the rest of the rig 1050ti handling all the graphical work, I can't possibly get this smooth an experience on my home PC, even at medium or low graphics. The Motherboard and CPU just can't keep up with the demand it puts on them, but Shadow does it, no questions, while streaming all the way from IL to MN.

A word of caution, I have noticed that the Shadow PC itself can sometimes experience network pings over 30ms, which introduces jumpy visuals and audio even though my ping to the shadow is under 25ms, I'm not sure why the Machine is having a harder time providing a low latency connection on Gigabit internet, butif you're having issues like that, it may well be an issue for you as well.

Final Fantasy XIV works amazingly well for raiding. Input and movement lag is minimal and not even noticable in most cases.

I have been using Shadow for a while now and enjoyed

  •  Elite Dangerous
  •  Transport Fever
  •  They are Billions
  •  Oxygen not included.  (runs very well in comparison to on my local PC with the amount of plumbing and wiring)

Its also nice to be able to switch and swap from my steam catalogue due to the fast download speed

Latency for me hasn't been too bad here or there I get input lag but I can play FPS fine and be competitive. SC is laggy to begin with are you meaning latency is bad with star citizen or and FPS in general?

Hi Max. It’s just my anecdotal experience. In my case, I’m 300+ miles away from the Santa Clara data center and running Star Citizen on Shadow Boost over a 100mbps Spectrum connection. For me the stream sometimes freezes for 10-15 seconds. Star Citizen is definitely not optimized and the game lags even when played locally.  I’m sure it’s not related to SC or Shadow’s hardware.  What I’m experiencing is most likely the result of latency caused by video data propagating over long distances. Undoubtedly, experiences will differ for those who are located much closer to their data centers.

I’m sure the Shadow devs have large datasets that break down the averages based on hardware, OS, distance to server, internet service provider, etc. With so many variables outside of their control I’m very impressed with the teams ability to provide such a quality service. However, until technology catches up (can’t wait to see how much 5G can improve my ping rate) I’ll just have to settle for non-competitive game play or pick up and move closer to the data center. :)

Hi. Are you using Boost ? I am getting max 28 fps ( I don’t know if it is related to the game (or server side) performance or CPU and RAM are bottlenecks.

Microsoft flight simulator  👌

Looks amazing) I am still waiting for my alpha invite… how is it running for you ? smooth ? are you using Boost or Ultra ?

Adding to the list, the Origin games launcher also has been working for me. I've used a few different games on it, with the most notable being Sims 4.

I play a lot of steam and rift vr games on shadow through virtual desktop on my quest and it is an amazing experience! It looks better than quest native games and there's usually no lag or anything that i notice. Anyway, of course I'm gonna add to the ongoing (and very helpful) list:

The forest (both vr with oculus touch controllers and flat with a ps4 controller)

No man's sky

The walking dead saints and sinners

FL studio (not vr but i used my quest to do it so i guess it counts as vr on shadow)

Kobold

Echo arena

Lies beneath

Seeking dawn

I'm realizing now that i may have issues with buying games! Lol. This is actually  a MUCH longer list and i don't wanna try to rack my brain trying to remember them all here but if, in the future, any of u are curious how deep the rabbit hole goes, I'm always willing to say if I've tried a particular game you may be curious about.

I originally played on what’s now referred to as Boost. I know have Ultra. I believe it to be a server side issue. Some days I get 40-60 fps and some days I get 25-35 fps…. Same game, same settings.

how is fortnite on their “official support list” I put all low settings and I cant even get 90fps like the game runs pretty bad compared to a $500 pc.

Do you have mouse click issues with DRG? Sometimes the mouse doesn’t register the click so you have to triple or quadruple click the mouse to shoot?

Shadow has ran everything I’ve tried to the 9’s.

  1. Warframe
  2. X-Plane 11 v11.50
  3. The Division 2 (someone else mentioned this one already, but I can confirm)
  4. Star Wars The Old Republic

I love Shadow.
