Red Dead Redemption 2 - After recent patch game crashes from main menu when choosing Single player, Multiplayer or Settings. It affects all of the shadow users I believe and some other unlucky folks. Im honestly surprised its not a thread here yet. There is a lot of threads on steam and other forums. My copy is thru Steam , but I believe it doesn't matter muchAny recommendations online were not able to resolve this issue incl:Editing settings. file to switch DX12 to Vulkan and back Windowed or fullscreenHDR On/OffAsync On/OffReinstalling whole game Reinstalling / updating drivers Logging in under new user Run as administrator (game wont even start)Running game in Offline mode - Forever loading screenWindows Event viewer doesnt show any reason for app crashing.Literally nothing works, last update just bricked the game completely for us My only guess knowing shadow system is some kind of game/online protection that now affects Shadow remote machines. I submitted a ticked to Rockstar. Hop
Morning All, Really hope someone on here can help with this one as I haven’t found a single working solution online and Microsoft don’t seem to care. Basically any game that is in the XBOX Game Pass (PC) app or Windows Store that states “Administrator Approval Required for Installation” will not update if it was installed prior to that note being added or install at all. Example Gears Tactics was working fine until it needed an update and now the update won’t download. Uninstalling works but then you can’t reinstall as it won’t download. Streets of Rage 4 does not have that note and installs and updates without issue. I have reset my shadow, updated Windows completely and have all the latest drivers installed and the result is the same. Prior to this Steam, GOG, Epic and other launchers all worked fine with out issue. Anyone have any ideas?
First, let’s make things right. Shadow is not a library of games. And that’s a good thing. Because it’s much much more! Why? Just because. But also: 👉 On Shadow, you can play any game from Steam, EpicStore, etc. pretty much any game launcher you like! 👉 You’re more of an Indie game player? We’ve got you covered: you can download your favorite games on Shadow! 👉 And of course, do much more than gaming. But if you’re here, we bet you already knew that! So yes, Shadow can support pretty much any game under specific conditions: as long as Shadow meets the hardware requirements for a specific game and the developer allows virtualization, we’re all set! That being said, you wanted us to publish a list of games that we tried on Shadow. Unfortunately, we don’t have someone (yet?) to try ALL the games that exist on Shadow (if we do, please help me get that job). In the meantime, here is a list of popular games among Shadow users: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare L
Hello there, As many of you know, Vanguard, the new Riot anti-cheat system, denied Shadow players' access to Valorant. Discussions between Blade and Riot are in progress, but final decision is up to Riot. To show to Riot how we are determinate and impatient to play Valorant, we have launched the #FreeValorantShadow and a petition with about 50 signatures at the moment. If you want to play Valorant, feel free to share your wishes on twitter with #FreeValorantShadow Edit : petition link - - > http://chng.it/PBbM9x6VWh
Hello everyone, today I propose a small solution to play Genshin Impact on Shadow. To do this you will need: -An Android phone-The Octopus app on your phone-The ApowerMirror app on your phone and pc-A USB cable to connect your phone to your pc-An xbox one controller-Turn on developer mode on your phoneand of course Genshin Impact on your phone :) Step 1 :Download all the appsGenshin Impact on smartphoneApowerMirror BOTH on pc and smartphone,Octopus on smartphone. Step 2 :Put your phone in developer mode and enable usb debugging mode To do this you need to, Go to Android device settings, go into system settings, go to "About the phone", tap 7 times "build number" and then the options for developers appear in system settings.* *Screenshots are there for information and may vary depending on the brand of your phone Step 3 :Set up your xbox one controller with Octopus I'm sending you back to a tutorial (not mine) for that. Step 4 :Setting up the ApowerMirror app* It's simple, just open the
I have been playing the new Flight Simulator since it came out and I love it, however, I was expecting better FPS (I have Shadow Ultra). When I first loaded into the game, it set the graphics automatically to medium, but I thought that was not correct so I tried with High-End instead. I went into a flight on a medium-sized airport with a propeller aircraft and the FPS were really not good. I had around 15-20 fps in or out of the cockpit. So I changed back to medium and things got a tiny bit better, but not much. Now in the cockpit I had around 20-25 fps, and outside I had a bit more, roughly 30 fps. I decided to watch a series of videos from Squirrel about setting up the sim, I spent many hours tweaking graphics, figuring out what degraded the perfomance and all that. I came to this conclusion: I can not play on High-End graphics, only Medium. The factors that contribute the most to the FPS are the airport, the plane you’re using, and whether or not you are in the cockpit. So, let’s s
As it’s one of the biggest releases of 2020, and one of the most demanding and beautiful, I thought it’d be good to have a discussion going! I’m personally having little luck! The full install is a massive 152Gb, which unfortunately is greater than the (roughly) 125Gb you have available with Shadow if just keeping the essential files. Doesn’t look like additional storage is available at the moment so I’m out of luck. Has anybody else had any joy with it? Would be a great title to show off :)
So, the story here is (it is a TLDR story don’t worry): I bought an Oculus Quest a couple of months ago. Enjoyed the library of games. Then looked to getting into PCVR. Didn’t want to spend $$$$$ on a VR capable PC. Saw Shadow. Bought. Waited. Activated. Installed Steam, added 256GB extra HDD. Bought & installed Half Life Alyx. Installed Virtual Desktop on the Quest, then sideloaded to get full capabilities. Fiddled with settings in Virtual Desktop to get best experience. I am like 30 or so miles from the datacenter so latency is a non-issue (SO HAPPY) I am probably, right now, half-way through the game. Only complaints I have with the VR experience is when my internet (xfinity) has a wobble and the network lags causing 2fps for a few seconds. Sometimes need to reboot the Quest / Shadow to jump back in without lag issues. All in all, experience is at an 8/10. Most of the time it is a 9/10 due to my good internet and close proximity to the datacenter
I have been part of the European Discord server since September last year and people often ask me for optimization guides for their games. Recently I have been working together with a couple of other people on figuring out the break points for Microsoft Flight Simulator. These settings won’t massively boost your FPS but it does provide stability for your game client and a better flight experience.Important note:When using Shadow Boost you should be aware that your FPS is bound to the processor and not your fancy P5000 or GTX 1080 that is assigned to your Shadow. The preparation:Go to Options -> General -> GraphicsFirst thing to do is to remove all the current customizations and preset settings from Microsoft by hitting the F12 Key. This will likely take a bit so grab a drink or beverage and await till this process is completely done. The Settings:Display Mode: Full ScreenGlobal Rendering Quality: MediumV-SYNC: OffRender Scaling: 50 (1080P Screens / Most Stable) or 100 (Less Stable
Hello People! First of all, Congratz on getting a dedicated Forum! Great new tool (besides discord for example) to engage with Shadow customers and staff. Wanted to get some feedback on People who currently have Shadow Boost and play COD Modern Warfare, specifically Warzone: What are your settings ? How much FPS do you have? On my side, I have pretty much every setting on Low and can only hit 70-ish fps on average, can go up to 80 fps (that’s like very occasionally) with frequent drops to 50-60. Would love to have your feedbacks! And if anyone’s got some tips to boost performance while I wait for the Infinite/ultra to roll out. Cheers, Stay safe ut there!
Wondering why Detroit: Become human is re-compiling shader pipelines after each reboot of my Shadow? The documentation states that this only occurs on first launch or after a GPU driver update. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or found a workaround.
My mouse will randomly disappear from the screen. I use my shadow for gaming and I've had this issue happen in every game I have tried. The mouse appears to still be there as I can move it around and see it highlighting things. The only way I have found to get the mouse cursor back is using the windows shortcut for the shadow overlay. When I toggle that, the mouse comes back for awhile but then disappears after some play time. Anyone have any ideas?
VR Streaming via Virtual Desktop - Oculus software "Cannot reach server" when attempting install - Solution
This is a success story, I swear! Just read until the end. I also have a few suggestions of how to better handle the topics covered.I attempted to install the Oculus runtime so I can use Virtual Desktop game streaming with my Quest 2, however I had some issues. When I tried to download the software, I got a 404 error on the Oculus website. I resolved this by transferring the installer (which I had no trouble downloading from Oculus.com on my local machine) to the shadow box via Google Drive. Now the issue is that when I run the installer, I get the error “Looks like we can’t reach the Oculus server. Please check your connection”.I suspect that Oculus may be blocking the IP range which the datacenter uses, which is not a great sign for compatibility. Also, yes, I had added firewall rules for the installer and tried other common fixes.I have a personal VPN I use for all of my internet traffic that runs through a datacenter in Dallas, and I know for sure Oculus isn’t blocking it because
So I’ve been using Shadow for coming up to a year. I recently got a sub for Playstation Now. I first installed it on my laptop PC but would like to use it in the Shadow. Has anyone done this? I tried it once before but back then the Shadow had trouble recognizing my PS4 Dualshock controller. I know I have to download the DS4Windows thingie and so forth on the Shadow to get started on this, but before I begin all that is there anyone here who does PS Now on their Shadow? And if so, do you have any tips?
I’m sure this is posted somewhere else but nothing else is working and I can’t see a comment that is helping. Im using Oculus 2 and Virtual Desktop on Steam VR the lag and black borders on both left to right when ever I turn my head and I really need help fixing it. I’ve tried YouTube videos and other forums and I can’t get to the bottom of fixing it. my laptop is a basic laptop which is why I use shadow as my laptop is not powerful enough for PCVR games, I use a PlusNet fibre optics router which I have enabled 5GZ on it, speed is 70mb I’ve spent hours trying to research this with no luck what so ever, if someone could give me advise I’d really appreciate it. Even if it’s get a new router to 6 or what ever would be great. Also I’m not computer guy so technical stuff will go ever my head. thanks in advance.
