Shadow on Chromebook Question!I have the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook and was wondering if anyone knows any alternative to shadow on Chromebook besides using the android app? I’ve seen some posts of people using the Linux version of shadow for their Chromebook and apparently it’s the greatest thing to use. However I’m a bit confused on how to do all that and was hoping if someone here could direct me in the right direction if possible.
i have had shadow since nov2021 and I was origiinaly on the New York(NY) data center with a consistant ping of ~10ms from Pensylvania ever since the tombstoning of the NY datacenter and swap to the Washinton DC datacenter i have had a ping of 35-45ms and i have even seen it as high as over 100ms making my shadow almost unusable. why the switch from NY to washington DC?
Sometimes I have to wait for people, so I have just to stay online and wait. To make sure that it doesn’t shutdown I play around a bit so keyboard and mouse getting detected every several minutes. But sometimes I also miss this a bit, until the message appears which is questioning: “If I’m still there”.The only issue is that it often doesn’t recognizes my following activity again. The popup stays, irrelevant of mouse or keyboard activity until the shadow-instance starts to shutdown.I’ve tried to reconnect, even close both Shadow Applications (ShadowLauncher, ShadowStream-Client), but in that case it even can’t reconnect anymore until it also says that it shutting down.Device: Mac Mini M1 (Macmini9,1)OS: macOS Monterey Version 12.4Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Really fed up now. It's taking an hour of multiple reboots and driver reinstall's to get USB devices to forward. No help from support and even reformatted my local machine. On the verge of cancelling my card as the service is not fit for purpose. Shadow used to be good but has got significantly worse. I signed up for 12 months but the service is now awful, I want out.
Hello, Lately I've gotten more and more frustrated by the unavailability of the additional storage for Amsterdam. I have been very patient (been waiting for over a year, and never once have I seen additional storage available. I've asked support about this, but they say that I have to be patient. The problem is, that I can simply not play certain games like Ark: Survival Evolved, because it takes up more space then I have available. I understand that shadow cannot snap their fingers and create more additional storage, but I want to post a suggestion. If this is a monetary problem, I would be willing to pay a one time fee to expand the availability of the storage, to make sure that I at least can upgrade my shadow. I understand that one guy donating doesn't make a difference, but I would be willing to pay 50 euro's if I could have at least 250 gb of extra storage (and of course the 3 euros p/m that it costs for the extra storage). I'm quite sure a lot of other guys would also be willing
Hello I have a little issue I hope someone knows a solution to:When playing games on Shadow using the app on Chromecast with google tv the audio is not sync. Video is good(1440p,60), no input lag to speak of. Example: when i fire a weapon the bang is always later than the flash. Also makes conversations hard to look at. It's just off.. Not a full second but enough to notice. I never have this problem using any other app on the Chromecast (Stadia, Netflix, YouTube etc.).I can rule out Shadow itself. No problems on my android phone OR on my PC. Audio is perfect.Network is also not very likely te be the problem, networktest shows at least 70MB/S. I have shadow set at 45MB/s. So I think the problem might be some other setting in the app or on the Chromecast itself. Or perhaps hardware limitations?
Does any have any advice on how to log into Facebook from the shadow desktop?I try on the link from the Oculus app and get the message “Access Denies. You are not allowed to access this page at this time”.I also try to log in via the mobile website in the browser, based on a thread I seen on here, but get the message “You've tried to log in too many times. To protect your account, a temporary block has been placed on logging in. Please try again later”.This was happening on Sunday and I’ve gave it a couple of days, tried again today and same messages.I can log in with no issues on my own laptop.
Have to wait till 30th December for my shadow service to be up and ready on boost yearly sub I'm just wondering when I came in and started setting this up it asked for database however I'm unsure so I put Paris database was I correct I mean does it matter or?
Hello!After I enable USB Peripherals, install the drivers, and use the USB device on Shadow, my Surface Go’s Type Cover becomes totally unresponsive after I unplug the USB (while using Shadow).This has happened twice now. The first time I tried everything on the book (or on Google, to be sure), like restarting computer, uninstalling the Shadow USB drivers, disconnecting the Type Cover, using a DIFFERENT Type Cover, using my Type Cover on another Surface Go (and it worked), reinstalling drivers, etc. The only thing that fixed it back to normal was a hard reset, but of course that takes time to do and it’s a pain to reinstall and set everything back up. Has anyone had this experience? Any solutions?
Hi I use an Nvidia Shield Pro 2019, 60hz samsung monitor and shadow app on 60 frames per second.The game I am playing Iracing only uses 59.940hz on all resolutions and have used the game graphics auto configure and tried manually. When playing on a 60hz monitor with the Nvidia shield set at either 59.940 or 60hz it glitches every minute or so. I cant change the monitor from 60hz. The Nvidia control panel on Shadow is set as 60hz. Looking for any ideas to stop or reduce glitching.
Hi guys. I have the shadow ghost and using the microphone via the aux input. The microphone sound is so low in the stable version that a lot of people can’t understand me. In the beta version the volume is fixed, but then their is an other problem.. there is a cracking sound all the time. So with all the other problems i read about the microphone.. it isn’t fixed yet :(.
I haven't been able to access my Shadow VM for over a week now (member since 2019) due to an “internal billing system conversion for legacy customers”. I have a ticket open and “on hold" with no ETA provided.While I understand issues arise with major backend changes, it's pretty bad when there has been no updates. Could you imagine if your internet provider or Netflix “lost your account” but still billed you and only said “sorry, we are working on it" for over a week? That's pretty unacceptable and I'm really disappointed with Shadow at this point.I'm now asking for help in a public forum because every reply to my ticket has been “sorry, we are trying to figure it out and working it on a case by case basis".
If your having skippy audio uninstall all forwarded drivers.Shadow will auto set up your primary audio so you can hear sound.for the mic click the option to use microphone by using win+Alt+O menu. If u forwarded drivers via the Launcher and are using your fancy headset and mic with shadow that way I noticed the audio is very poor and skippy.Im using shadow on a local PC(ryzen 5 2600/RX 580 8GB/16GBRAM) and with 800download 900upload internet with 4-5ms ping to shadow.So the issue is not on my end.It could be a temporary issue shadow is having or maybe when u try to use audio this way its just not good for some reason. I discovered this issue because i forwarded drivers to shadow to use my webcam.and for some reason after doing this my mic wouldn't work with shadow.which never happened before, when I say before I've used shadow in the past and have just recently returned and this is the first time that this was a problem. The speed is high but latency averages around 45 ms with couple of seconds extra. Before going to spend more money on crap wifi amplifier looking for recommendation.Would like to connect direct, but router in wife office, and don’t care to be in there trying to use.Ordered a scanner for 3d and was going to use with Shadow and usb forwarding, but latencymaybe too high.No hurry. Scanner was Kickstarter project, will be month before it comes. I love Shadow so far.Just not wanting to buy laptop to run scanner. Already too much money spent for hobby use.
