Launcher v4.14.16 Client v3.2.16) Local device CPU - Intel Core i5 - 1035G1 CPU @1.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.2GHz Local device GPU - Intel UHD Graphics Family 4GB Datacenter location (check status.shadow.tech) - Chicago Connection speed (Datacenter speed tests EU: Paris | AMS or US: CA | TX |CH | NY) - Chicago 124mbps download, 6mbps upload, ping 25ms, jitter 2ms, ethernet connection Description of issue - My audio in stream cuts out after about 1 minute of using shadow when I am on both prefer speed and prefer reliability settings. Also the sound on my laptop continues on like normal, it’s just the stream that loses audio. Shadow also recognizes but doesn’t transmit sound from my headset microphone. If I don’t touch my mouse, nothing happens. Date: 6/6/2020 Yes I took some actions. I turned down the allocated bandwidth, I turned on prefer reliability, I also switched to the alpha build of shadow. None of which alleviated the issue. I don’t use a antivirus or VPN Cant take a screenshot but The stats were, Frame Rate: 36 FPS Bandwidth: 5.2 Mbps Latency: 22.0 Ms Connection Drops (Packet Loss): 0.0%
I’ve been having problems when i stream using streamlabs obs. None of my overlays are showing when i steam. On streamlab, i get a black screen and like i said, i cant see any overlays. I use display capture, and ive tried window and game capture, and get the same result….I’ve seen that you cant use any of those on laptops, but since im using shadow, does that matter since it is a virtual machine?
I got started with shadow about a month ago and have enjoyed it so far. I’m home near Chicago for the next 3 months and got started with my shadow while here but then I will head back to school in Florida in August. When I head back to school will the connection I experience change dramatically or can I expect the same experience. If the experience does change for the worse because of the distance between Florida and the Chicago data center what would be options to get it fixed? Would it be possible to move to a new datacenter that is closer? Or what other options are available? I’m not concerned about losing data because a majority of the games I play are saved to online servers anyways so it would just be a matter of redownloading the games which isn't an issue. I’m trying to get an idea of what I should do before August so it can transition as smooth as possible. Thanks for any feedback/ideas!
For some weird reason im not able to get 60 fps on and 8 year old game and that game is borderlands 2 is there any thing I could do to fix it i also cant get a constant 60 fps on gta 5 online or story mode i use shadow boost and im in the us i play on 1080p btw i can get above 60 fps on warzone and that has way better graaphics than borderlands 2
Hello everyone! I've been using CCleaner on my own PC for years. Not on my Shadow as I don't browse on it as often. (mostly just to check fixes for stuff). But now I read that Kaspersky considers it malware. Now it feels like it flags it as such because they have a similar product, but I'd like to have some more insight on this. Since it's not my own PC I tend to take more care of my Shadow than my own… if that makes sense.
I have a macbook air 2013 with OS Catalina. I’ve been using Shadow for some time, and I’ve noticed that the fonts just don’t look right. I’ve got two examples here. https://imgur.com/SHCyGJb Notice how the “download” looks and here https://imgur.com/dpT5o3S Everything looks washed out, and the contrast seems off, and it’s hard to read. I’m at 50 for the bandwidth, little lag. No night settings on. True tone is not on. Anyone have any solutions, or is this just how it’s supposed to look?
My one year contract ended at the start of june and shadow decided to renew it WITHOUT my permission. I think this is a pretty unethical thing to do and I should not have to continue paying for this. I really enjoyed shadow until i got my own pc ; but something like this is going to make me tell people to stay far away from them. Really leaves a bad taste in my mouth
Hey I used the support bot but it wasn’t very helpful even though I followed the advice about lowering bandwidth and so on. Basically I got activated today, went through the whole testing download/upload, everything was fine, but when I wait for the shadow to actually start it just ‘loads’ halfway through the bar and then after a bit it says “Shadow is off”. Thanks for the help
Hi, last year in autumn I pre-ordered a Shadow Ultra as an existing customer (from Germany). Unfortunately there were problems and the activation of my package was postponed to early summer. Now it's the end of May and next week the summer officially begins. Unfortunately, I haven't received any updates as to when I can expect an activation. I have absolute understanding that further problems or the COVID-19 crisis might cause the whole thing to be delayed. However, a little more transparency would be desirable, when it finally goes on. Hence the question: When can I expect my Ultra to be activated?
This has been happening since about last week since an update came, around the creation of the Shadow forum. Every few minutes there is a huge freeze that I usually fix by toggling Low Bandwidth mode on or off. Is this a common issue? I’ve seen topics about it but the conclusion is always that the issue is on their end and not Shadow’s. Another clue that leads me to believe that it’s not on my end is that checking the “Fullscreen on start” option on the launcher makes it so that when you start your Shadow, the task bar on your normal PC is still visible (usually fixed by going into windowed and into fullscreen again.) This hasn’t happened since the update. So there must be something going on here, right? I’m going to try to reinstall Shadow to check if that fixes anything first.
Hi everyone! Quick question, have any of you experienced any performance issues on a Linux/Windows Dual-boot unit? It works flawlessly when I run Shadow on Windows, but on Linux...yikes, a completely different story with key presses and mouse movements registering after about 10 seconds and the visuals / sounds being ultra slow, as you can imagine. Don’t think internet speed/performance is an issue, as I mentioned it runs great on Win10, but it might be, I don’t know! Here’s some info on my machine HP Elitebook 8470p Laptop / 8GB RAM / Intel Core i5-3320M / Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (dual-boot to Win10 Pro). Wanted to see if anyone has run into this or had any tips to fix. Thanks!
Does anyone know of a solution or workaround to get games running at a 4:3 aspect ratio on an iPad using shadow? (2160x1620). some games allow for this in video settings (doom 2016 for example) but many don’t (outer worlds and Gears ultimate edition are locked at 16:9 for example) it’s just irritating to have black bars top and bottom. Anyone know of a solution?
