(Oculus Quest 2) Is Hand Tracking availble/planned on ShadowVR?
I recently discovered Oculus Quest 2 systems have hand tracking available out of the box, but upon trying to launch Shadow VR, it forces me to switch to controller. Is there a way around this?If not, is it a planned feature Shadow VR will have as it develops?Thank you for your time.Madeline (HoneybeeSorceress)
Its just broken.
My Shadow Vr app hangs and stops responding anytime I try to start shadow Vr. Initially I believe I had an older version installed up until yesterday, which when I tried to start shadow Vr and play it would just say it was updating, load from zero to 100, and then go back to zero and repeat. Is there anything I can do?
Community Workaround: High Latency on Virtual Desktop and ShadowVR
Disclaimer: This is a community workaround (not official). Please advance at your own risk. Since about 30th June, people using the Paris datacentre have been experiencing really high latency but only while using Virtual Desktop or the VR app and not while using the desktop or mobile app.If this is what you experience, try this simple fix!If you just get a high ping in general, this will likely have no effect. Step 1: On your Shadow, Open Settings (shortcut: win+x, n) then click "Network & Internet" Step 2: Click “Change adapter options” Step 3: Right click "Ethernet" and click "Properties" Step 4: Click "Configure…" Step 5: Find “Large Send Offload V2 (IPv4)” and change “Value” to “Disabled” The stream will break, so quit Shadow (Win+Alt+Q) and reconnect. Quit the Virtual Desktop Streamer app and re-open. Enjoy VR streaming without the insane latency! If this doesn’t work, try disabling “Large Send Offload V2 (IPv6) too. SteamVR not connecting to Quest 2
Hey guys, Got my Shadow this weekend. Installed Steam, Steam VR, updated drivers using Nvidia experience. When I would start Steam and SteamVR, it would pop up saying something to the effect of the headset was ready to use. I don’t recall having to do anything extra to get it to that stage. Everything was working great using the Shadow app on Quest 2. Suddenly today, I try to launch ShadowVR on the Quest and it hangs on “Starting VR service.” That’s when I notice that Steam VR says “Please plug in your VR headset” now. I wanted to try just re-installing Steam and SteamVR but that was being a little goofy. So, to be on the safe side I decided to just reset my whole Shadow and do the entire process over again. Unfortunately, I still can’t get SteamVR back to the point where it’s recognizing the headset. I tried installing the SteamVR beta but no dice. I also tried installing the Oculus app to see if that would somehow help. Is there some sort of key step that I accidentally did the first
Great Shadow VR Early Access!!!
I want to congratulate Shadow team. Shadow VR works really great. It’s impressive how Shadow VR has evolved on time. I hope you don't stop developing this absolutely great technology.I think it would be useful to create a guide for new users on how to take all advantage of Shadow VR.I have a question, how can we use a steering wheel, a joystick or a gamepad throug Shadow VR? for example to use a steering wheel in Asseto Corsa at the same time I use VR.Thanks, and please continue this great job!!!
Fix found for step 6!
I had this problem on 2 different shadow configurations where I couldn’t manage my password using netplwiz. This is not convenient for VR as you might know, and I have never saw anyone fixing this problem so I just wanted to show this fix I found, because I realy think it should have been added to the tutorial. So some people are able see the checkbox when they op netplwiz:But some other people newer configurations don’t see that. The fix I found was opening Registry Editor: Then paste “Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device” in the top bar: Dubbleclicking “DevicePassword...” and changing the value form “2” to “0”: At last, open “netplwiz” (again): Now the checkbox will appear: I would hope this could help some people out.source: [Fix] “Users Must Enter a User Name and Password to Use This Computer” Checkbox Missing in Windows 10 – AskVG
Switch to VR not working
Starting Friday 29 October I can't switch to VR mode using the VR Alpha app for Quest 2. I noticed this happened after Shadow installed an update that day. I checked that I'm using the latest Shadow VR Alpha app from Sidequest (3.7.3 of 12 October). Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a workaround or should we wait for a fix?
i dont have the bubble to deactivate password log in
In the step 6 of the vr set up it says you have to disable password windows log. And in the walkthrough it is really straightforward it seems you just have to take off the checkmark. But on my system I don't seem to have the checkmark that says "users must enter a username and password to use this computer" do yall have any idea why? Ps when I try to start the vr it just brings me to the 2d desktop
Has anyone managed to set up vr gaming with kat walk c?
Hello, I recently got a quest 2 and managed to get steamvr working on it by sideloading the shadow pc beta app with sidequest. It's very cool and working pretty well at the moment, but I have a kat walk c (omni directional treadmill) coming in a month or so and can't seem to find any advice on how to set it up with a shadow pc. Has anyone managed this or have an idea how it could work? Thanks for your help!
g920 not working on cars2
New to shadow Been trying to get shadow VR to play cars 2. The streaming is great but I have no controls. Won't pick up my g920 (shadow pics it up no problem on normal mode). Anyone have the same issues? Using VD is just too laggy to be enjoyable..not sure what I'm doing wrong. It seems that shadow VR streams directly to the quest and don't go thru the PC so it can't see controls or usb accessoires.. hope someone has a fix. Thanks
Black screen, Shadow unrecoverable when switching back and forth between VR client and Desktop client

Do not understand "Use the 'Stay Connected to Steam' Option"
At the 0:34 second mark of the Shadow Beta YouTube video, right after it shows how to install Steam, it shows a slide that says "Use the 'Stay Connected to Steam' Option".I do not understand what this is in reference to and I cannot find it in Steam Settings, do I need to reinstall Steam and all my applications to see this option?I currently have an issue where I have to log in to Steam every time I start Shadow and it’s difficult to do so in VR, does this step rectify that issue?Any help would be appreciated :)
VR Beta on Quest
When I got my Quest I tried the VR Alpha and was disappointed. The connection was a buggy lottery and even when it did connect the terrible vomit inducing jitter made it unusable. I guess I wasn’t expecting it to be that Alpha.Having tried the Beta, it works flawlessly! I can pop my Quest on and be in Steam VR just by opening the app. If you have a Quest (and a strong internet connection) Shadow gives you wireless PC quality VR.The only thing missing now is Xbox controller support for games that need it.
Shadow VR Nightmare
Hey everyone, have had my Shadow for a bit over a week now and getting my Oculus Quest 2 setup has been a nightmare! Finally got it running a game and the graphics were terrible!I haven't been able to port all my games over to download them. I'm still new to VR so I'm hoping it's because I'm still in my learning phase. But holy crap it's been frustrating!
Shadow VR beta in Sidequest = great experience!
Just wanted to say the day I decided to set up my Quest 2 with Shadow was the day I saw the “Beta” version had been posted to Sidequest alongside the Alpha, so I went for it and was blown away.Once Shadow VR will be a quick install from the Quest Store and a simple login with your credentials it’ll be a game-changer. My SteamVR copy of Arizona Sunshine installed lightning fast and booted flawless with no lag or diminished image quality (and this was through an Eero wireless repeater into a larger room).Only issue I had with it was quitting, I’m not sure if it crashed the machine or I selected the wrong option and closed out of Shadow by mistake but it was jarring; that being said I’m looking forward to jumping back in this weekend for some extended play time!
Having problems connecting your Oculus Quest to Shadow Alpha?
Hi guys!If you read the feedback about the latest SteamVR-update (last Friday) the issue seems to be the SteamVR update – not Shadow Alpha it self. The feedback on the latest SteamVR update here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/250820/eventcomments/3162083441793504997?snr=1_2108_9__2107So the solution might be reverting back to an older SteamVR-version. I will keep you guys updated trying this and would appreciate if anyone has already tried using an older SteamVR with Alpha?Best regards, Kevin
Steam VR not detecting headset, help?
Anyone else having problems with Steam VR not detecting Oculus Quest 2 headset after Steam updated their app last Friday? I belive Shadow`s software (Alpha) is not corresponding with Steam`s new software update. Any suggestions? Appreciate all the help as I currently can not access the VR stream but only the 2D desktop. Ps: I know many are using Virtual Desktop – but until now I have been very happy using Alpha. And not interested going through the hassle of using AirLink – as my experience so far is Alpha should do the job with out any “extra” (VD and AirLink). Thanks guys! Best regards, Kevin
I have sideloaded the Shadow VR Alpha on to my Oculus Quest 2. When I open it, it takes me to the sign in page. For some reason, when I try to log in, it keeps telling me "login failed" I tried changing my password and the new one will not work either. I know I am typing it in correctly, and I've logged into my Shadow on other devices numerous times using the same password. The only thread I could find with a similar issue had one answer, stating that either the person was using the wrong password or their Shadow has not been activated. I have been using Shadow since January and know for 100% fact that I am putting in the right password, so that thread did not help. What am I doing wrong? Is there something else I am missing? It seems like no one else is having this issue..
