I havnt seen anyone else use this damn template, idk what half the shit your asking for is because i literally just started using Shadow pc for one day and it stopped working. I just want help getting my steam vr to detect my headset nothing more, i dont see how anything from the "template" above will help, If a template is required we should be forced to fill it out like that when even ASKING the question. This is a help forum, where you ask questions with your own worlds, not amazon customer support.
I have the same issue at https://forum.shadow.tech/let-s-talk-shadow-vr-early-access-52/shadow-vr-just-does-nothing-and-just-goes-back-to-home-almost-immediately-4370
I was wondering, have you ever logged in steam vr ever with any VR headset? I’m asking because I noticed that if i switch steam to my wifes account it works fine. She has logged into steamVR in the past on a rift and went the the tutorial / setup stages.
I’m thinking that this issue may happen to people with steam accounts that have never entered steamVR before.
Anyways, I responded to

Wont boot to VR. drops you to main menu. You can go to 2d as OP described, click launch VR, waits 10 seconds drops you to menu again.

the bug behavior VS. the expected behavior (what should happen if working properly). - It's not going to 3D. And also when operating normally, if you go to 2d desktop. You can see that it has started SteamVr. it is not starting Steam Vr at all. If you start it from 2D desktop, SteamVR does not see headset

1. Start Shadow Beta on Quest 2
-
When menu shows, click Start shadowVR
-
Screen is displayed showing "Starting Shadow VR". 30 sec or so passes, and it goes back to menu without displaying any error or other feedback.
-
pressing Start shadow VR again simply does the same.
-
You can go to 2d desktop, and if you press Launch VR, it goes to the Staring Shadow VR screen for 10 seconds before returning to menu. No error or feedback.

Have not been able to get on Shadow for a month, found I still had alpha version. Unistalled it, installed beta version. It worked for a week, until this problem started last week.. On sidequest I only find alpha and Beta versions.

Hello
I succeeded to solve this issue by reinitiating my Shadow and installing Steam and SteamVR.
OK, found the problem with mine. Since it didn't seem to be seeing the headset, I chect the oculus app on shadow. All seemed good, but I was going to uninstall and reinstall. It gave me a repair option, which I tried. All of the sudden it found updates to the oculus app. It installed then on its own, and now it's working. So repair or reinstall the oculus app on the shadow machine may fix you problem.
