I figured it out myself, it’s not what i meant whatever you answered but if you think the wait is worth, then thanks for your info. I do believe it’s worth it, if you havent used a good pc in your life and want good games.

Ende Oktober bestellt, Aktivierung für Januar geplant und heute bekomme ich eine Mail von Shadow das Sie die Aktivierung auf ende Februar verschieben müssen weil es wegen Cyberpunk 2077 einen zu hohen Datenverkehr gibt :joy::joy::joy:  

Das ist einfach lächerlich es auf das Spiel zu schieben!

Sagen sie doch einfach die Wahrheit! Das ihr Team gerade überfordert ist wegen dem Ansturm durch Covid19 wegen Home Office das ihre Server gerade einfach zu schlecht sind mit der Aktuelle Nutzer Zahl umzugehen.

Ich habe mich zum Glück doch entschieden meinen eigenen PC zu kaufen und Cyberpunk 2077 zuhause in 2 Wochen gemütlich durchgespielt.

I urgently need my shadow because i need it for my school work and my laptop is basically dead and i cant do anything. If u could activate it that would be great. I wont be playing games

Only a few Days before my activation week I get a message that it will change to the end of February. I can understand that it takes a little longer because of the work. But a postponement of a whole month? And i find the second one already quite cheeky by now. 

I had hoped to use Shadow as a long-term solution but, slowly I get more and more concerns.

I have had two Shadow PC’s.  While it was in it’s Beta phases, I was still dealing with a few bugs and things that kind of turned me off of it. I understood that it was Beta so the Shadow team was still doing work on the applications. I came back a few months later to see if anything had changed, and they have made some new changes. They had each of my Shadow PC’s ready within a couple days. This is before they had any Data centers here in America. I feel the wait times we are experiencing now is the cause of how well the company is doing. People enjoy the Shadow PC. They have many of them to set up. I am coming back to see what changes have been made. It has been about 3 years since my last Shadow PC. It is going to be nice to see the changes that have been made.

There is nothing wrong with prioritizing existing customers over new ones for a small company. You can expect no down time when you get it so I am not sure what this prioritization has to do with the long-term solution for actual users. It is actually good that they are doing this. Why pay 15$ for something that might not work half the time ? They make sure that existing customers have no down time and when you will get it, you will also have no down time, hopefully.

as someone who ordered on the 10th for Chicago servers, I will answer on his behalf. on the 21st “ activation day” it was then postponed until end of February.

I was kind of skeptical about January. (Chicago DC) I am similarly skeptical about February. I am thinking I’ll go ahead and build/use a PC and if Shadow works out, I’ll sell the PC. Sure, I’ll take a loss, but I will at least have some compute while I wait. My use-case for Shadow is Oculus Quest and I’m impressed by Shadow’s efforts to support it properly, so either way I’ll hang in there.

Some have remarked on the extra long wait for Europe. Obviously I have no real insight, but my experience is that while Europe is lovely and very efficient in some respects, it is sometimes hard to get things done.

Please hire more people. I ordered my shadow nearly 3 months ago and I was really hyped to get my shadow pc this week. Unfortunately no activations this week for amsterdam servers:rolling_eyes:

Were you still paying while waiting for them to set up a pc?

I feel you are under the impression that they have set up my NEW shadow PC already. This is not the case.  This was about 2 years or so ago when they had them set up in a couple of days. Seeing as they also expanding to countries across the world, I could see the wait. But these are TOP OF THE LINE pc’s. All future upgrades. Newest Graphics cards, processors, all the time. All games on ULTRA graphics. These are by far some of the best PC’s that I have seen set up. But the date I have for the new one is the 28th of this month. 6 days. But I am also in the California data center. As long as you have a decent internet connection, you are going to LOVE the shadow PC.

You should read the payment details they sent you in the mail. It’s under “Terms and Agreement.”

Sounds good. I get mine on the 28th to so I’m exited. I have 5g internet so I should be ok. It’s cool that they are top of the line.

Apparently, they have shifted the activations for this week to the end of February.

I just received an e-mail regarding this. I ordered it on 1st November and was expecting it this month. but they have moved it to next month. They really need more people….

Bruh, i ordered my shadow from texas cause im in Georgia and it said mid of January, it is the mid of january but now they say no because of more people r using it. Shadow team, if ur reading this, i will take out my order if you guys dont activate my account by wednesday

Hahaha! You're too funny Bruh, you actually think these people give two squirts that you're going to pull your order from them? You should probably get a handle on that immediate gratification thing it's going to come back to bite you in the ass at some point. Let them do their thing is what I say because personally I would much rather have a fully functional well-oiled machine as opposed to something that's glitchy and stupid because they're rushing to get you your order.

Not a question asking for my activation to be expedited but just one to hopefully help clear up some confusion!

I’m a UK based customer, and on “My Account” page it details the below:

Ordered on

16 January 2021

Available on

August 30, 2021

 

And on the first page it says activations this week are until August 30 for UK customers..

 

Does this mean that I’m likely to get activated this week or does it mean I’ll need to wait until end of August? I’m happy with either but just want to know where I stand to manage expectations!

It’s forreal, you better search up on alternatives. I’ve been waiting 3 months for my Amsterdam instance, only to recieve an email a few days ago, that it has been delayed another month (which already happened in december, where it was delayed to january).

 

I’ve tested a Texas instance and tbh: You don’t even get what is advertised. You think you get an RTX? No. It's a similar one called “Quadro” with less power ment for businiess. Same with RAM. Nowadays you even have 16 gigs on an office laptop. But your Shadow instance will only have 12 gigs. Nice.

 

Now you probably think “Well there is Shadow Infinite. Costs more, but has 16 gigs”. Yeah have fun waiting for that. Just look in the threads here. People have preordered Infinite in 2019(!!!) and are still waiting for activation. It feels like a Scam!

 

Shadow will loose to it's competitiors sooner or later. Better use something like Paperspace or AWS with Parsec/Proton. It will cost more, but you won’t have to wait 3-12 months.

Sad that it takes so long. When I finally have it and can't expand the memory, I'll go crazy. Had one before, but had to cancel it because I had too little memory.
