Not a good sign. Multiple delays in service activation for various reasons, in what looks like every region that they’re in for every subscriber for the past several months.

Now they are delaying their notification of delay.

Sounds like they are imploding, but still accepting money from people that will never get service.

 

Geez, thats like the only thing thats bringing shadow down, im sure its a great service once you get it and all, but man it really do be sounding like a mess atm 😕. Bright side I can see is that atleast they don’t charge you monthly, not right after they activate your shadow.

Just, like, from a PR perspective, "I cannot give you an update because I'm getting inconsistent information internally" does not strike me as something the representative of a company should be saying in a blog post lol. But hey, you do you Shadow

Hi, I ordered from Chicago servers January 11,2021. It says activation date is January 21, 2021. Is this still gonna be activated on this date or will there be given another date of expectation?

so have i, im hoping we wont have to wait until next week and we will get it on the 21st like what was promised.

I ordered January 5th, and it said available on the 21st. But doesn’t look like they are doing any activations this week in the Chicago Datacenter. 

honestly think its bullshit that they have specific dates almost s if they are promising that we will get it that day but then they are just like “lol, yeah no. wait an extra month.”.

Exactly. Blew my mind when I saw that. Major red flag.

Must say though, I haven’t been personally delayed, yet. Nothing I have seen is giving me any hope. My activation is this week (supposedly).

when I heard of Shadow I was hyped.. signed up and everything.. turns out I have to wait until August 2021...making me feel less hyped about it.

Happened to me. Ordered on early January, they said it’d ready by the 21st. Well, the 21st came and I logged in to find that my activation was pushed back until the end of February 🤦🏽‍♂️. Seems like ill have a better shot finding a ps5 or XboxSX before ill get my order activated. 🤷🏽‍♂️ 

How do you know if your shadow gets pushed back? Do they send an email or something? Mine was supposed to be ready on January 14th when I bought it in the 5th, but I mean it never happened, im just hoping that the next activation post has texas on the list ahhhh.

I was supposed to have a Jan 21st activation but like everyone else it got pushed back to the end of February. I woke up this morning and my shadow had been activated. 

 

Did that happen for anyone else? Chicago data center btw.

Also for anyone wondering, it's great. I got it for mostly VR and it does the job. I did max it out on no mans sky though. Looked and ran pretty bad on medium.

My activation was supposed to be yesterday. Im in chicago datacenters too. I hope I don’t have to wait like 3 months or before. I didn’t get an email stating it was being pushed back though.

I’m literally about to kill myself waiting this long. If I don’t get this at the beginning of February I am going to be piss and I’m going to cancel and do a refund.

I waited 5 months, was well worth the wait! Playing fs 2020 now and it is amazing. The wait was like waiting for Xmas as a child, all part of the fun lol!

I have the impression that those comments are somehow fake. They are meant to keep us waiting people in line. I mean why would someone who’s account has been activated bother to read and write in this thread?

 

This adds to my anger I have regarding the delay and the unprofessional behaviour of shadow. 

 

  1. Its ridiculous that you have to look for your activation date in such a chaotic forum. The timetable for your datacenter should be in your account.
  2. When the company itself shows to he public that there are huge problems - shit is getting real.
  3. Calling Cyberpunk the reason for delay is just a joke. I mean you offer a service so that people can play a game. It cant be a surprise that they do want they are meant to do: playing games. Its like you are running a club and it appears to be a problem for you that people are dancing.

Funny thing is: I do. I have/had a Texas instance. And yes, it works when it’s finally activated. But the wait time is a joke.

I got a eMail that my January Boost will be activated in Feb… Bad. Maybe i will cancel

why can you still order if you can't keep it anyway. Why can I order things that are specified that are not stored in the system.

Not fake at all, I ordered on 22nd August 2020 and was activated on 11th January 2021. A month earlier than my quoted activation date of by end of February!

Cancelling my Geforce now account as I can play all the games now rather than the limited library they have. 

Oh my god, the activation post is still being delayed? This is so god damn unprofessional, it’s not even funny anymore. HOW ARE YOU ALL SO INCOMPETENT?

 

Maybe you guys should reconsider if you are really ready to join the global market. Because with a business performance like this, you will just get sued by investors and loose your community to the competition. And even worse: The few of your community who are not angry right now, will also go over time. I mean: Peak usage in multiple data centers, over more than a month? Thats insane. My tip: Close the data centers! Stop the activation queue! Not the activations, the god damn queue!!! STOP ACCEPTING NEW PEOPLE IF YOU CAN’T DELIVER WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.

 

This is making me so damn angry. Not only from a customer sperspective, but from a business perspective as well. Does Shadow even have a CEO?! Because it looks like an intern is just dicing on what to do next.

 

But the best thing in my opinion are the 5 customers I noticed here, that keep calling people like me (and 99% of you) “crybabies” for complaining about the >aweful< service. Well go on sheep, defend a service that lets you wait a full year for what you can setup in an hour. You are literally the reason why there are companies that think this is okay. But how would I know how that impacts the decision making process, right? I’m just leading a few companies. Nothing special.

it's up to each individual to decide for themselves what they consider to be intolerable behavior from a business that they decide to do business with. One thing is for certain there are better channels to contact people at the company to voice your disapproval of their current business plan surely the comments in a public article are not the proper way to complain up the chain of command or to formally submit a suggestion. so typically comments of the ol' woah is me type  this taking so long boohoo wah wah like the ones I've seen here is crybaby behavior and and usually if someone acts like a crybaby typically they're a crybaby. I had Shadow previously back in early 2020, and it was great. I can confirm shadow is not fake, and have you ever heard of what demand is? They have to get the hardware for everyone’s shadow, it’s not just as easy as making a VM and booting it up. They are probably saying Cyberpunk is the reason for the delay because many people’s computers can’t handle the game, so they come to Shadow.

But crying over crybabies is kinda the same, isn’t it? People complaining about the service and people complaining about people complaining about the service. Both are acceptable human behaviour. While I agree, that this won’t get far in the chain of command, it’s still a valid concern. And besides: If I just send an email to Shadow, what would happen? They are not even answering support tickets for your own activation time. Why would they suddenly answer a complaint mail? Right, they won’t. So you are just there with an ignored mail. I mean, how do YOU know that there are so many unhappy customers? From here, don’t you? Because >this< is the only channel where the whole community can say what they think and see the opinions of others.

 

And tbh I really don’t get the crybaby thing. They are a company. They promised a product for december. And everyone of us payed for that already. Yes it’s just like 15$, but that’s not the point. Being cheap doesn’t give you the right to not keep your contract and deadlines. So they couldn’t keep it and are now at a postpone time of 66% (2 months). That. Is. Not. Okay. Everybody should be perfectly fine to complain about this, especially since information on the topic is scarce and Shadow is known for just ignoring these complaints.

Mine was activated the other day. So just be patient. It will happen.
