This week’s activations are rolling along at a steady pace across all datacenters. We do not have activations scheduled in the CH or TX datacenters this week due to high peak usage.

Please hire more people. I ordered my shadow nearly 3 months ago and I was really hyped to get my shadow pc this week. Unfortunately no activations this week for amsterdam servers:rolling_eyes:

I just got an email, I hoped it would say “Hey, we’ve activated your shadow”, but NOPE, you have to wait another month.

Hi, I ordered from Chicago servers January 11,2021. It says activation date is January 21, 2021. Is this still gonna be activated on this date or will there be given another date of expectation?

I still don’t get why US-Datacenters can activate within 1-2 months and EU-Customers have to wait up to 9(!) months for activation. Just got my delay from “End of January” to “End of Febuary” minutes ago - I DO NOT UNDERSTAND - get more employees or optimize your processes or get at least more transparent WHY! “High usage” because of “Cyberpunk” isn’t a real transparent reason for waiting customers!

e.g. state how many activation you do per day/week per datacenter, say how many orders are currently waiting, show on the customer account how many activations there are in front… there are soooo many possibilities you could do for your CUSTOMERS - the ones that PAY for your job!

Only a few Days before my activation week I get a message that it will change to the end of February. I can understand that it takes a little longer because of the work. But a postponement of a whole month? And i find the second one already quite cheeky by now. 

I had hoped to use Shadow as a long-term solution but, slowly I get more and more concerns.

I really don’t like how people keep calling other people crybabies in the forum.

First for the people who keep complaining about the long wait times. True the company shouldn’t be taking in preorders if they haven’t fulfilled the current ones but this is just 15 dollars. 15!!! Your not at a loss here since you can take back your money at any time.

Second for the people who call others crybabies, that’s honestly pretty low. We paid money for this product so we should get what is advertised including wait times right? If a company promises something then immediately changes it after we purchase the product is that good or bad? So these people are automatically crybabies because they just voice their opinion on the companies doing or because of the long wait times. People are impatient and that’s never going to change. But don’t call people crybabies just because they are worried about the wait times and where their money is going. Imagine if you paid for an RTX 3080 or some similar graphics card and on the site it says ready to ship. Then when you pay for it, it says it’s on back order until 2 months later. Your not just gonna sit there and accept it. Of course your going to contact the company. This is just the same thing on a smaller scale.

I ordered on 16th Oktober 2020 and I just recieved a mail in which they say that the activation will be end of februar 2021 instead of end of january. What the hell? 

 

Because of Cyberpunk? Are you freakin kidding me?

So is this how it's going to be?. I wanted shadow cause I was looking for a cloud based setup for my emulators. When I signed up the wait time didn't seem so long but now I'm reading all these stories of people having to wait 8 months. Now my January 21st appointment is moved to the end of February even though according to THIS post because I ordered on January 4th I should be getting it by the end of this month. For what? A PC with a 256 gb drive and a GTX 1080.

 

If your having problems then say so. Be more open about what's actually holding things up don't promise activation days you know you can't keep and then changing it on them without so much as an email.

 

Someone please tell me right now is this their M.O. Lure you in on the pre order and keep moving the goal posts till 6 months go by and you forgot you ordered the damn thing. Someone tell me now I'll cancel my pre order and walk away before this gives me any more of a head ache.

Oh my god, the activation post is still being delayed? This is so god damn unprofessional, it’s not even funny anymore. HOW ARE YOU ALL SO INCOMPETENT?

 

Maybe you guys should reconsider if you are really ready to join the global market. Because with a business performance like this, you will just get sued by investors and loose your community to the competition. And even worse: The few of your community who are not angry right now, will also go over time. I mean: Peak usage in multiple data centers, over more than a month? Thats insane. My tip: Close the data centers! Stop the activation queue! Not the activations, the god damn queue!!! STOP ACCEPTING NEW PEOPLE IF YOU CAN’T DELIVER WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.

 

This is making me so damn angry. Not only from a customer sperspective, but from a business perspective as well. Does Shadow even have a CEO?! Because it looks like an intern is just dicing on what to do next.

 

But the best thing in my opinion are the 5 customers I noticed here, that keep calling people like me (and 99% of you) “crybabies” for complaining about the >aweful< service. Well go on sheep, defend a service that lets you wait a full year for what you can setup in an hour. You are literally the reason why there are companies that think this is okay. But how would I know how that impacts the decision making process, right? I’m just leading a few companies. Nothing special.

No activation this week?  I ordered 19 oct 2019...still wait for infinite :-)

Ordered during October and should have gotten activated end of January. (Amsterdam)

Now i received an email tellibg me that my activation has been pushed back to end of February.

 

Shadow vould atleast give us a free month now for the extra wait, but of course, nothing.

This is ridiculous and i will just refund now.

Ende Oktober bestellt, Aktivierung für Januar geplant und heute bekomme ich eine Mail von Shadow das Sie die Aktivierung auf ende Februar verschieben müssen weil es wegen Cyberpunk 2077 einen zu hohen Datenverkehr gibt :joy::joy::joy:  

Das ist einfach lächerlich es auf das Spiel zu schieben!

Sagen sie doch einfach die Wahrheit! Das ihr Team gerade überfordert ist wegen dem Ansturm durch Covid19 wegen Home Office das ihre Server gerade einfach zu schlecht sind mit der Aktuelle Nutzer Zahl umzugehen.

Ich habe mich zum Glück doch entschieden meinen eigenen PC zu kaufen und Cyberpunk 2077 zuhause in 2 Wochen gemütlich durchgespielt.

Not a good sign. Multiple delays in service activation for various reasons, in what looks like every region that they’re in for every subscriber for the past several months.

Now they are delaying their notification of delay.

Sounds like they are imploding, but still accepting money from people that will never get service.

Damn coldjackie you need to grow up and wait for your turn. I have to wait until September but you don’t see me moaning about it. The reason why it’s probably taking a while is maybe because they are short of staff because of COVID and there are thousands of activations they need to do and it takes Time. So shut up and be patient 

Think a little further. COVID is here since a full year, not just a week. The right decision would have been to disable new preorders in july 2020. They didn’t do that, they never even did anything close. You can still preorder everywhere, but now people who already have registered, are pushed 2 months further. You think thats okay? Its not. The problem is not the delay per se, but the sheer unresponsivness to the problem. They continue to gather money from people, stating a date when it’s going to be activated. And by experience and reviews here, you can see that alot of people are NOT getting it at the date they were promised to. Now you tell me if Shadow should be accepting >new< preorders, if the current ones cannot be dealt with.

Paris Data Centre times are actually ridiculous. I know that there’s many people waiting, but waiting 8 months for a shadow is extremely long, worth it, but I hoped it was shortened by a few months. Hopefully, infinite, etc, come out so that wait times can go down a little. 

A lot of you are complaining about the wait time; let me tell you it’s well worth the wait! I have had Shadow before and the activation would take about an hour, but now I have to wait 3 months for my virtual machine (New York Datacenter); it just goes to show the high amount of requests they have now. I am assuming because of COVID? Everyone is home and wants to game, but can’t afford to spend $2,000 on a gaming PC. I fully understand why there is wait, Shadow is perfect. Cheap and super reliable! I remember sitting in class, and being able to play Total War during those boring lectures. It’s crazy, all you need is internet connection and you have access to play your favorite games. I ordered in December and not due for activation until March; it’s a long wait, but I know it’s well worth it. Thank you Shadow for your services. I wish we could pay like an extra fee to speed up the wait que, but I could see how that would push other people further back as those than can afford it, will keep jumping the line.

Of course Amsterdam has “no activations this week”. Cyberpunk 2077 again? Okay then. A real honest question: If you keep delaying new shadows because of “peak usage” in specific data centers (mine included)… won’t this affect my own shadow, when it’s finally activated?

Not a question asking for my activation to be expedited but just one to hopefully help clear up some confusion!

I’m a UK based customer, and on “My Account” page it details the below:

Ordered on

16 January 2021

Available on

August 30, 2021

 

And on the first page it says activations this week are until August 30 for UK customers..

 

Does this mean that I’m likely to get activated this week or does it mean I’ll need to wait until end of August? I’m happy with either but just want to know where I stand to manage expectations!

Just got also the information that activation will be delayed another month because of Cyberpunk…

 

I wanted to give it a chance, but slowly i think its easier and reliable to get some new components for my own desctop pc...

Several different sources say different things unfortunately as for activation goes. Chicago hasn’t had a single activation in two weeks, while I am a patient man as I only ordered mine on January 13th; the bot says end of January, so does this post based on the date I applied, and until today it said it would be activated today as well. Now its saying on the orders page no activation until the end of February, the lack of consistency between several of your platforms, posts, and support is a little misleading and disappointing. I am hoping I can get a more definitive answer as far as when my activation will be, for now it could be anywhere in the next month and a half, despite being led to believe it will be ready today or sometime in the next week. Hope you guys figure it out and I’m looking forward to using your service, whenever that is.

Shut down registration. Do not accept new clients. Pushing activation back a week or two is one thing, but multiple times and now over a month extra on top of the already long wait? That’s is just going to harm your reputation.
