This week, we have heard that there may be delays in certain datacenters.  Please look at the information below to learn how you will be notified if you are an impacted user.

Leider verzeichnen wir derzeit eine hohe Auslastung des Dienstes, welches sich negativ auf dein Erlebnis mit Shadow auswirken könnte, würden wir dir jetzt deinen Shadow zur Verfügung stellen.

 

 

Aus diesem Grund haben wir uns entschlossen, die Aktivierung deines Shadow zu verzögern, und schätzen nun, dass er Ende April verfügbar sein wird.

 

 

 

Natürlich werden dir während dieser Wartezeit keine Kosten in Rechnung gestellt. Deine anfängliche Anzahlung wird als deine erste monatliche Zahlung genutzt, sobald dein Shadow einsatzbereit ist.

I really hope that the delay for AMS (Dec 1st - Dec 10th) will be only one month. 
 

If you guys just push back the activations because you don’t get the necessary hardware anymore and won’t get it in future because of the depts and the investment gap, you have to be clear and make a statement.   

 

It would be a total disaster and epic fail of management if the delay was made for holding the customers in hope on the fishing line.

exactly this. I’m very disappointed about that situation, also this message is popping up in our mailboxes like two days before planned activation is a huge disappointment. And the part of “Of course, you will not be billed during this waiting period. Your initial deposit will be used as your first monthly payment once your Shadow is ready to use.” is more like self-evident, it’s nothing to to show it off or to portray it as special.

Problem is also, that they „estimate“ an activation end of April. That’s not the same like „We will (definitely) activate end of April“. 

will this mean that is uncertain if i will even get my shadow active? why did they make promises in the first place:rolling_eyes:

Exactly, it is ridiculous to inform just a couple of days ahead when we’ve been waiting several months. And this is clearly something they have been aware of for quite some time so why telling only now.

I thought the same as I got the message. I'm in holiday now because I planned to start directly playing after activation 😒 This information some weeks earlier and I could have the chance to switch my holiday plans. But now, everything is to late 🙁

I didn’t expect to get the preorder anyway, given the service is bankrupt.

Meh. Sincerely hope the service stays afloat somehow. Maybe some other time.

Honestly dude, these people are fucking shady. I’m still waiting atleast 2 months later for this fucking thing, JUST TO TRY IT OUT. I have to wait near the end of july. And they constantly shove every new VM into the “New York” Datacenter in the states. It’s starting to become the problem, also WHY shove states mostly in the south TO A NEW YORK DATACENTER? Wouldn’t the best obvious choice to be somewhere like Chicago? Or even Texas? Makes no sense at all. Word to the wise, just pay for GFNow, you’re probably better off with that. Because it’ll be months maybe a full year before you even use this thing one time. (Sorry for the rant)

Some good news to soften all the vitriol in these comments: I was expecting my account to be activated on the 24th - but to my surprise I got a notification YEStERDAY (22nd) that is was ready to go. Spent the afternoon playing TW_Warcrraft2 on Ultra settings - what a blast! So far I am going with: worth the wait!

np dude, im just as annoyed/angry as you are. I do have GFNow but atm im looking for a cloud service i can play WoW on. I remembered shadow from sponsoring a streamer with like 20 viewers (no wonder theyre broke if thats where their money went) and she mainly played WoW. But I cant seem to find any service that lets me play games from bnet

Same for me. I don´t care about FPS or some connection errors. I want to import tons of data, install a lot of software with extensions, patches and prepare a library for several projects. I would be busy for two or three weeks. The Shadow team has a strange communication style. They tell me about the delay as if I forced them to wait with the activation to get the maximum super-ultra-performance.

Dude, they don’t even fucking reply to my emails at all, like it takes almost full on days before i even get a remote response from any of their “support staff” which most of them are most likely bots. These people are fr shady. And by the time they ever respond to my emails, its always the same paragraph copied letter to letter. Very goddamn shady man. This is a literal 139+ million dollar company and they run it on 11 people. This shit sounded so fucking good on paper, and then once i paid for it.…. IT just went out the window tbh. They run this big ass company, with 11 people, work only 4 days of a week. We will NEVER see these things. And if we do? They’re probably gonna run like extreme garbage. I don't even know how this thing stays afloat. Cause it just seems like not that many people even have one of these VM’s yet.  ITS FUCKING SHADY.

Even though you’re frustrated you can at least be a bit respectful to these people. Do you think the Shadow’s employees are in a comfortable position at the moment? Not knowing if their job is secure and they could be unemployed all of a sudden in the middle of a pandemic/crisis.
Do you think that they have a button in front of them that they could press to pop your account but they are like “hmm naaah we’ll do it later” ???!!! 
Having worked in multiple support centers in the past I can tell you 2 things:
1) The people you talk to on forums or support pages are not responsible for the decisions their management make and the management will never see your message. So shut up!
2) Being rude and angry is counter productive for people are more likely to help you and do the extra mile for you if you’re nice to them. So shut up!

I’m in the same situation as you. I was expecting my account at the latest today but 2 days ago I received the email. That sucks but guess what… Nobody died. So shut up!
