Hey all, we ran into hiccups that unfortunately prevented us from providing the weekly update today. You can expect the update in full tomorrow, and we appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Back from Shadow Island, I’m excited to welcome you to this week’s activation update!

For this week, unfortunately some users promised August 2020 for Chicago and Amsterdam will have their activation delayed to early September 2020. We’re sorry for this, and impacted users should receive an email by the end of the week with confirmation of their new delivery date. We’ll provide final details in next week’s update too.

Our team continues their work on stability for the Texas datacenter in preparation for September 2020 activations and New York is making it’s way through the backlog, all while California and Paris move along at relatively steady paces.

As a reminder:
-We activate Monday through Thursday

-Beginning at 8am local time each day for each datacenter

CHICAGO:

Activations this week:

July 22nd - July 24th

If pre-order date is between July 24th - July 30th:

Activation by end of August 2020* 

If pre-order date is July 30th or later:

Activation by end of October 2020

 

*some users that pre-ordered between July 24th - July 30th will unfortunately be delayed until early September 2020 for their Shadow to be activated. Impacted users should receive an email by the end of this week.

 

TEXAS:

Activations this week:
All activations for August 2020 have been fulfilled! Our team is working on the datacenter’s stability, and delivery is on track for September 2020 orders.

If pre-order date is July 30th or later:

Activation by end of September 2020

 

NEW YORK:

Activations this week:

June 24th - July 2nd

If pre-order date is between July 2nd - July 22nd:

Activation by end of September 2020 (delayed from August 2020)

If pre-order date is between July 22nd - July 29th:

These people saying they have been waiting since 2019 and have to wait until 2021 are talking about upgrades to higher spec shadows. They already have their boost's so be grateful.

I ordered on 22nd August 2020 and won't receive until February 2021, just chill, time flies by so quickly. Forget about it and before you know it, the activation email will pop up in your email and away you go!

It’s got to be a bank holiday in Paris and that is why we do not have the update.

Hello, today my pre-order went to the subscription area in my account. Now it says „waiting for activation“. I ordered on 20th July. 
The Post says that there are a few delays by 20th but not all of this day. When the Pre-Order already went to subscription, is it also possible to be delayed to late September? 
„my“ datacenter is Amsterdam..

Hey Alrasch, any change in the account page does not reflect whether you’ll be impacted by the delays. That will be confirmed by the end of the week, and in general all of the delayed activations should be done very early in September.
 

Will the Texas server begin activations again starting next week?

As a resident of Portland, OR I'm going to be in the Santa Clara batch, huh?

Hoping that "by the end of September" treats me well.

Thanks for the update, nice to see that the Paris server has picked up the pace a little, compared to last week. 

Just a heads up, last week's update is still pinned in news and announcements, would you be able to switch it over for this one?

How would I know which datacenter I’m being setup for? I’m in Minnesota, so I’m assuming that I’ll be setup in Chicago?

You’re correct in that it’s Chicago, which you can reference here in the future if need be.

Hi Teamshadow, I ordered from Paris Datacenter on June 9th, 2020. until barely it said on my account page: Available from August 2020.

But today it says: Available from: Date not available.

But according to your weekly status updates I shouldn't be activated until the end of September or October?

Could you please help me?

Victim of your own success. Shadow seems great. First activation should be in July. Changed to August. No date now. I am afraid that I will not be activated until next year. Well I still hope, but you've lost credibility

For Santa Clara, I preordered on August 8th. It says August 1st-8th was activated, then says August 8th and forward needs to wait another 5 weeks. Am I out of luck?

Finally, I received the mail with the confirmation that my shadow is activated now 🎉 pre-ordered on June 20th (Amsterdam)

Hey Jack, you’re correct that you’ll be connecting to our Paris data center based on your UK location. We don’t offer a way to transfer between datacenters at this time.

Hey, I saw people who said they were in the New York datacenter being activated. They had ordered on June 28th, 4 days ahead of the weekly goal. This was last week. Is New York ahead of schedule, or was this an isolated situation?

Hello! 

I ordered on 14 July, Germany, so Amsterdam Server. It should be activated this week, however, on ”My Orders” it switched to November.. It previously was August..
