This week’s activations are rolling along at a steady pace across all datacenters. Due to the lockdown, no activations are planned in the Amsterdam datacenter due to an increase in peak-rate over this weekend.  We are working to stabilize the data center before activating more users

**some users that were estimated for a November activation will unfortunately be delayed until December 2020 for their Shadow to be activated. Impacted users received an email regarding the delay.

seriously on the fence here. shadow is a far better service than current offerings from google or Nvidia for stream pc gaming. having said that waiting months for activation and access to said service is ridiculous. I understand that we are now in special times and thing can be more challenging but I hope that the shadow team is looking for alternative solutions to remedy this major issue. bottom line is right now live we can sign up with a competitive service and get instant stream gaming access. when signing up to shadow I honestly thought as expected in 2020 that I would get instant access to the service I was purchasing. if its a hardware sourcing issue than is shadow looking for alternative suppliers? surely u can outsource hardware purchases from other places given that you are a global company. I mean cmon guys waiting months for access to a purchased service? surely there got to be something u can do to speed up the process or compensate. I would genuinely like to hear from shadow some encouraging strategies being taken other than wait 3 months for your turn. guessing that in 2020 it iz what it iz.

For the New York Data Center increasing operation time to include Friday, Saturday & Sunday would nearly double the efficiency for installing new shadow clients. I know that the operations also require delivery of product, unpacking inventory, set up etc... So increasing your days of operation with a part time crew would be very beneficial to your organizations expansion. I know not all of the Shadow data centers are backed up - but increasing operational times for those that are would be great. Shadow.tech accepts new orders 24/7 but only operates 4 out of 7 days? How will you ever catch up? Please consider bringing in more technicians.

According to ShadowTeam Terms & Condition, 

I don't think it would be fair that I would pay a month subscription without getting to use the software.  By December I already have to pay first month's payment, and my setup isn't active. 

@ Pagemaster the initial payment is to hold your spot in line while your Shadow is assembled and activated & covers your 1st month of service. The monthly payments begin after the Shadow is activated moving forward.

Hello, why Paris times are much higher compared to other countries

I fail to see, with such high demand, why it takes months to fulfill, other than a lack of capital needed to invest in the hardware and scale-up infrastructure.

The capital isn’t the issue. The hardware, and getting it delivered, simply isn’t available at this time. The companies responsible for making and shipping it are struggling because of covid. If you have enough capital to buy 100 of the thing but they only have 3 of the thing on the shelf, capital isn’t your issue.

Shadow isn’t going anywhere. They didn’t have activation issues before covid, and if/when everything clears up again it won’t be long before they’re back to that again. In February 2019 when I activated, it took a couple hours, but was done on the same day. Any other competitor trying to offer the same service would be in the same boat, right now, and it’s hard to see how any other company could do better.

I’m sorry for the delay in activation, but Shadow is already incentivized to activate you as soon as they can. After all, they won’t bill you for a 2nd month until you’ve had your full 1st month, first. If there was any way to control these delays better, they’d already be doing it.

COVID19 is impacting global hardware manufacture, to the extent that a relatively small company cannot procure industry standard equipment for six months whilst blue-chip companies can?  I find that a less likely proposition than service provision throttling, based on return on investment.  The simple maths of £15 pm revenue per client versus let's say £500 unit cost with ongoing overheads means what, 3yr ROI ?  Bracketed infrastructure seems more likely, unless you're saying Shadow can predict global manufacturing supply and demand.  It's all academic; making clients wait months for a product, with vague dates and no order-updates simply reduces uptake and future perceptions of the company.  My point was simply that no matter how good it is, it's pointless if you can't provide it.  It simply needs a new startup or someone like Nvidia to extend their infrastructure with VD on Win10, provide it in days instead of months and Shadow looses clients.

Well, I wait on my Shadow, too. But til then I use Geforce Now. From my point of View it is very reliable.

OK, I don’t have a PC like Shadow but play with a RTX 2080 my Games for 5,5 Euro. I’m in the lucky situation, that I play Tomb Raider, Far Cry Watch Dogs and Anno 1800. All avalable there. OK it’s only HD 1080, but Shadow of the Tomb Raider on a RTX 2080 is amazing.

 

And because it is only 5,50 I will keep it, as long as it costs not more. Cheaper than to upgrade my GTX970.

Hi

May someone help me? I have been waiting since 21 of July.
And since this morning, I see no pending orders anymore and no active shadow, nothing.

Please don't forget me, I have been loging like a thousand times watching updates T_T

Check the My Shadow tab. You should be “waiting activation". It means you'll be activated soon. In the next few days / weeks at most.

I have just been activated on the Paris DC I bought on the 18th so fingers crossed for you guys 👌

This the 3rd consecutive week this message has been posted. Is this more delays this week? Is it careless copying without concern for those than might be waiting to see if they’re delayed again? Is it that you can’t stick to the schedule for sending an email much like the activation schedule that I’ve been delayed on 3 times already?

You'll pay for the first month of subscription upfront but it will only start counting once you get access to your Shadow. Your new montly billing date will be set up to that date, and your second monthly payment will be debited one month after accessing your account.

I’m still wondering, given conflicting estimates on this page and my account page (3 months’ difference), which estimate is to be considered more accurate.

i wonder why amsterdam doesn't activate anything this week, why?

Once my Shadow PC NYC is active, will I be able to upgrade to the Infinite package? 

 

What options are currently available in NYC?

My Shadow has been activated this morning 8 hours (Server Paris - Ordered on July 14th) Everything is running smoothly!

En vrais, après 1an et demi (le jour de l’activation) l’offre “Shadow Infinite” ne devient-elle pas obsolète vis à vis du prix affiché, le premier jour pour nous appâter?

If you are using a Shared Server Model as you have more users then you have servers and you face a lockdown where everyone tries to use it at the same time you do not add more users as your service will suffer which no one is wanting.

Follow the news of Shadow they explained it a dozen times.

They do a lot to implement as quickly as possible but they can not create new server resources out of air they need external partners and if you work in a lockdown scenario where you can not go to work it is quite complicated don't you think?
