I think that the new tiers will go live on Tuesday and once you upgrade then you will get an email once activated. I understand that they are going to be giving priority to current boost customers, so I’m wondering if we just have to keep an eye on the subscription page on Tuesday and depending on the data server then it could take 2 hours to get access to the new tier (if you’re in Chicago or Denver) (yay me, I’m on the Chicago server).

Yeah, I think they will too. Hopefully, they will update this page tomorrow and put the time that they are launching them. They should send an email to the waiting list people and I can’t see why they wouldn’t send an announcement in the Discord server as well when orders go live. Also FYI, they have closed pre-orders for shadow boost to prepare for ultra & infinite. Only current users will be able to order the new tiers. And also, there is no Denver server. There is Chicago and Dallas (Texas).

I’m disappointed VERY disappointed in their communication regarding THIS, WE are literally at the 24 hour mark now and no email has been set with any kind of time frame. We are literally at almost the finish line here with no time frame. If I miss out on being able to upgrade because Shadow didn’t send a former email as promised i’m going to silently cry in a corner and kick my feet saying I Knew it I knew it…. Now I have to be totally on guard for whenever it launches so I can hurry up and get my order in. But if I can’t get it and it sells out I’m done with Shadow

I understand that but it’s also annoying as we have to sit by our PC’s and wonder what time as Emails such as Yahoo are sometimes slow or don’t update fast enough. I’d hate to get an email only for Shadow to sell out in 3 seconds flat. I just hope I get in been waiting a long time like everyone else lol. If you were in our shoes you would feel as lost as we do.

After the PS5 preorder debacle, Shadow is choosing to do this?  I have really been going back and forth over the last week about whether to upgrade to Ultra/Infinite and renew for another year.  For Infinite I’m looking at a minimum $480 commitment (around $1,900 for 4 years), money which could go towards a physical machine of equal or better quality since they are using already outdated equipment.  

I mention 4 years because of how long it’s taken Shadow to upgrade past the GTX 1080 level in the U.S.  The 1080 launched mid 2016.  And now we are going to regular (not Super) 2080/Titan levels, cards that came out in 2018.

Regarding the PS5 preorder, I missed getting one because I sat down with my family to have dinner and watch TV.  By the time I had checked my email all preorders were gone.  I fear the exact same thing will happen here.

While I understand that predicting the exact time the upgrade is ready to go is difficult, I would much rather that Shadow simply delay sign up by a day and let us know well in advance the time we’ll need to be at our computers.  I don’t understand how that couldn’t be possible.

As it stands this “hover by email, first-come-first-served” thing will likely mean I’m leaving Shadow.  Oh, I’d like to upgrade if I can, if I'm lucky.  But if I miss out, how many months or even years will I have to wait for my outdated upgrade?  

I have a life.  I don’t want to hit F5 all day, even though I’ve been with Shadow for while.  Many places to buy a PC or laptop offer 0% over 12-24 months should I want to pay over time.  And I’d likely have a higher spec machine over that 3-4 years given the current Shadow upgrade cycle.

Shadow...I feel you can be doing better with this launch, and you are risk losing customers who want to give you money.  

I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed that I’m likely not going to be an ambassador for Shadow anymore.

It really seems like they've cherry picked users from the email notification list, or first come first serve we'll never know. They'd previously stated this was just a notification list. It now states email to dedicated waiting list.

 

Either way I will be constantly checking still but do feel let down and it's already been decided who's getting in or not.

You're making a really valid point about the ps5 vs infinite. You don't have the upfront cost with shadow though and realistically for the next few months the math is in shadows favor because of the sell outs and scalpers. 

I seriously doubt we'll see any upgrades at all to shadow infinite or ultra for a couple of years. You won't see any upgrades to consoles unless you rebuy a pro either though. 

 

Right now we'll all just have to suck it up and deal with it seems shadow may have chosen who gets offered what and when based on unknown criteria entirely. That's the real disappointing thing here, it no longer feels like first come first serve it luck of the draw. All of us were hyped up to wait just like waiting outside a store.... Now it feels like check your email and stop bothering us.

Thank you, to be clear I am still going to be waiting and checking constantly. I work and odd shift band my wife's doing the same when I sleep. We love shadow in our home and absolutely will pay for the best shadow.

I have a feeling that they’re going to send out the emails between Midnight - 6 AM when i’m asleep.  :(

I work third shift remotely right now, and I am up for the majority of the day as well. I will be waiting and checking at a constant from this point forward.

While I will be disappointed if i'm unable to upgrade to Infinite, Shadow Boost has done absolute wonders for me. It completely changed everything. Having a powerful VM PC that I can take on the go is amazing. I have no regrets

Though I was able to get a Xbox Series X and...I haven’t played much on my Shadow since.  I’ve been waiting for any upgrade on Shadow for years.  Sure it’s #GTXOnTheGo, but given how many settings I’ve had to turn down on Shadow to get 60 FPS I’d rather say #GTXHasToGo.  

Think about Cyberpunk 2077.  PS5/Xbox Series X vs. Shadow Boost isn’t even a contest.  Shadow Boost will just whimper in a corner.

The ps5 debacle is really bad, I would be really tempted even over infinite.

However it's big.... really big....Might end up with heat issues, might be replaced by a pro unit within a year. It may lose hard to game pass. 

 

Shadow is a very stable alternative that incorporated my pc library. Let's me do whatever I want. I still see that end of life for the product when it's not powerful enough but that seems like a year or two away.

I can not wait for this to go live been with shadow from the start. Pumped Up💯💯💯

I don’t really think (at least hope) that the whole PS5 order problem is relevant here. Since this is not a thing you can resell there is no incentive for people it’s set up bots to insta-buy all the stock. 
 

I definitely am annoyed by the whole lack of announced time thing but hopefully we will have a reasonable chance. 

Relax… Cyberpunk 2077 isnt going to go out of stock. These new tiers arent going to go out of stock. Shadow is only going to keep getting new hardware to keep upgrading past the first wave so relax and have a nice cup of coffee or something, there’s way more things to be worried about. It’s Christmas!

Wow, that's incredibly backwards and nothing you've said tracks at all except Cyberpunk 2077 not going out of stock.

 

Looking at passed shadow rollouts everyone has every right to be concerned. Looking at how long the EU had waited for more ultra and infinite, all of us are expecting multiple years until more slots come.

 

Shadow to this day hasn't upgraded hardware. It hasn't needed to really just yet, however it doesn't appear to be on the road map right now.

From what LucFromShadow said today everyone who is signed up to be notified via email will be all together as soon as it's live tomorrow. It specifically says there will now not be a detailed time frame within the day and to wait for the email.

So when the email goes out it goes live?  So at the end of the day it does end up with us having to be alert and ready at any time in the next 24 hours. That’s great. :rolling_eyes:

930 in Michigan, I think the Chicago data center is an hour behind in central time though. 

 

I'm not going to sleep until I am in, I work thirds so it's tomorrow morning it starts getting rough.
