You people are crazy. Are you guys living under a rock or something? What are they supposed to do break the law and get arrested so they can get the hardware set up for you? Stop with the crazy Trump conspiracies.

So it's a shame that the order is delayed again and again. I really like Shadow, but it is sad that the pre-order will be postponed several times (even before COVID-19). Why is there not a clear, transparent communication to the pre-orderers here? Even something as simple as memory expansion has not been available for over a year! Although this is offered on the website and it is advertised that this is possible at any time.

It's a shame that cloud gaming is choosing and more and more providers are joining. Shadow is or was very flexible and simply unbeatable with its price-performance ratio.

“Why is there not a clear, transparent communication to the pre-orderers here?”

Well, let’s look at the past. We all preordered in October 2019 and were told, we would get it in February. They actually didn’t had any excuse and told us in February, that they first had to wait and see, how many people would preorder to please investors.

Personally, I have never been fooled by a company in this way before.
The people were all pissed off, understandably so. The amateurish way, shadow handled it was a bad joke.
I don't think the current delay is due to Covid-19, otherwise Shadow could and should have informed the customers already in April or May, that there is a possible delay.
This would at least have been honest and transparent customer communication.

I also think it is questionable that it is claimed that you cannot activate new customers due to missing hardware supplies, if new people are constantly activated at the same time in the USA (e.g. New York).

This fact alone shows that the argument Covid-19 is bullshit.

Either they made some huge mistakes, or they are waiting possibly for the new RTX generation..

The fact is and remains, why are new orders still accepted, if you can't even get the old ones done properly?

Why is the website still advertising with expandable memory, even though it hasn't been available for over a year?

Why is there no honest information on the website that there are massive delivery delays?

Just the way the current delay was communicated, with a shabby FAQ post. Here it would have been the least the CEO could have done to stand in front of the camera in person and apologize.
This is extremely bad customer communication!

To make matters worse it's been proven that people who pre orders after October 2019 have had there orders fulfilled in march for shadow infinite at least and to that fanatical.com are doing a promotion where you can win a shadow ghost which is supposedly unavailable and a years subscription to what must be at least ultra but possibly infinite, unfortunately they don't mention the exact subscription even in the terms and conditions but they mention RTX raytracing so it's definitely not boost at least.... Been waiting since October but apparently I can win one now without ever having pre ordered!!!!

The fact my pre-order for infinite is delayed is frankly not a surprise. The Covid situation is pretty much the blame for everything right now, even when unjustified. Plenty of places have managed to keep things running smoothly during the crisis and its been months since transport of goods has been a real issue.

I share a lot of concerns with others here about the pricing for what will more and more be less impressive specs the greater the delay, though not overly so given that 99% of what you need a PC for even the Boost Tier will suffice.

No, my biggest disappointment is STORAGE. When additional storage became an option I, and I suspect many others, chose Infinite for the included 1TB. We chose not to add on additional storage because of that. Now? We can’t get that storage for 6 months? Probably more? … Words can’t describe how upset that makes me.

256GB is not enough, it hasn’t been for YEARS. With games often 60GB or more and the this trend increasing. Now Flight simulator is out and I literally can’t install it (150GB!) unless I clean everything else off.

If the pre-orders are delayed so be it. But please look into ways you can get those who have pre-orders their additional storage in the meantime. Most wont even notice the difference when the specs change, they WILL notice the additional space!

Thank you. That is exactly the topic.
I'm currently playing COD and with 200 GB I can't save anything else. Just save a little more and the frustration about the ongoing delay would not be so great in my opinion, at least for me.

Above all, I find it all the more awesome that the page is still promoting the extension.

People people just provide the additional memory for us. The option of only adding another 256 GB at first is a gain.

So we gotta wait til next year and still have an RTX 2080 even though now the 30 series has been released?!

Well...most of us (90%?) still have to use boost with its <GTX 1080 performance...totally skipping the RTX 2000 series.

I see the delay due to two reasons:

1. They again fucked something up/lied to us and wanted to collect more preorders to get cheaper discounts to be able to keep the promised prices low.

2. They decided and said “let’s put the Ultimate/Infinite release on hold and let’s first check, whether we can directly jump to RTX 3000 series.

As it was mentioned a lot of times, I really don’t believe them saying Corona is the reason for another half year delay. There are several reasons for this. There aren’t any lockdowns or delivery restrictions for months already anymore, that would require to push Ultimate/Infinite even anywhere towards 2021...this is 100% bullshit.

If Corona and lockdown/delivery restrictions are the reason that they can’t get new hardware from China, how come they activate tons of boost people around the world frequently? Makes no sense as the entire hardware is manufactured in Asia/China. So if they can get P5000s delivered, they can also get P6000s delivered.

And last but not least...with Infinite you are paying 40-50€ per month for gpu performance, that is easily outperformed by a 499€ RTX 3070.

Last year Infinite sounded like a great deal when similar performing GPUs like an RTX 2080 Ti or a Titan cost way above 1000€/$...but now you can get better performance than an RTX 2080 Ti in form of a RTX 3070 for as low as 499.

A decent gaming rig with RTX 3070 + better CPU than Infinite, will pay off at around 2,5 years of Infinite subscription cost. With the small side effect, that by then you actually own the hardware and still can sell it for several hundred bucks.

And I don’t really believe that we would see Infinite hardware upgrades soon after they finally release it somewhere next year.

So when Infinite hits, RTX 3000 Series is already 6 months+ old, by then, an RTX 3070 is even cheaper...and the next hardware upgrade will probably happen when, in 2023? What a joke.

The fact alone, that they announced the delay already quite a while ago, without any news since, gives me very bad feelings, exactly the same as after the February delay announcement...wouldn’t be surprised if it is January...and the next excuse is being delivered.

I can only hope they review the Infinite hardware befoe they role them out next year. Like you said... If i have to wait 6 months it better be worth it.

Hello,

are we getting shadow infinite before 2021 or begining of 2021? begining of 2021 means January?

Hello,

As always, statements are made to be ambiguous, which is something Shadow has always liked to do.

In the FAQ video released at the end of the summer, it was said that ideally, ultra/infinite activation can begin in early January 2021.

I think we all know Shadow and the empty promises well enough by now to know, that this will surely be February, March, or even later.

As we didn’t get any updates by now, although there aren’t any Covid-19 related delivery issues anymore, you can only imagine, that the reason for the current delay for sure wasn’t Covid-19.

Looking forward to January and can’t wait for the next hilarious excuse they will bring up. :ok_hand:

I have lost almost all hope that we will ever see Infinite or Ultra.

As @Wellnice said, we have not received a single piece of information in the last months. The last silence brought us the second delay - silence is never a good sign. It also worries me that any reference to the "regular hardware upgrades" on the new website has disappeared. Regular upgrades were the argument for Shadow. It’s nice that the price went down, but I’m not here for the price, I’m here for the convenient upgrades, without the need to upgrade my computer. To play games on the highest graphic settings as promised.

With the current Boost configuration I always have the fear “will this game run on Shadow? Does it perform well enough? Can I use new technologies [like RTX]?”. I have subscribed to Shadow so that I don't have to face these fears.

I was looking forward to my Infinite. But the delays are so long now that the market has moved on and is a whole generation ahead and my joy has diminished.

Don’t get me wrong - Shadow is an excellent service and Blade has proven that cloud gaming is in fact possible. But we desperately need the upgrades, otherwise Shadow misses its actual purpose.

with a video card like titan rtx or rtx 6000 with 24gb of vram I don’t think you should be worried any time soon, maybe when 8k 60fps will be like 1080p 60 fps now , if they won’t upgrade hardware we can just cancel the subscription, very simple. I still hope that on holidays I can enjoy my Infinite

Sorry to ruin your dream but the RTX 6000 isn’t anything near as powerful as you think.

For example Metro Exodus in 4k with raytracing is running with an average of 29fps on Shadow Infinite. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey drops down to 37fps...in wqhd resolution(!!!).

Read Dead Redemption 2 in 4k..average 43fps.

As you can see, Shadow Infinite is already too weak for current 4k stuff and games that are already older, not to mention future games.

for 1080p or 2k it shouldn’t be an issue in most games. But just that it was mentioned, it is not like everything runs with 100fps at max settings.

Also in a lot of games the cpu is bottlenecking the gpu.

Shadow Boost is still pretty amazing, and runs everything I need it to, with great speed.

This delay, whilst annoying, will result in at least £50 per customer less revenue (more left in your pocket), so no need to look on the pessimistic side. Look on the bright side. All good things come to those who wait...

The only thing that will come from this is my death.

Q: What will be the duration of the delay?
It is estimated that all Shadow Ultra and Shadow Infinite pre-orders are delayed to the beginning of 2021. However, given the current situation, there are many unknowns and we do not have enough clarity to provide a definitive answer.

Q: What is the cause of delay?
The enforced COVID-19 lockdown impacted our end-of-summer roll-out plan in many facets, including supply chain, production, labor, and access to datacenters.

Q: Why weren’t the delays communicated sooner?
We were waiting to have a clearer view on the situation. Unfortunately, due to its complexities, we are unable to get more information. We will keep you informed as the situation evolves.

Q: How do I cancel my pre-order?
You can cancel your pre-order at any time on your customer account page via the ‘My Orders’ tab to receive a full refund (can take 5-10 business days depending on your bank). For more information, please read this Help Center article.

Please note, if you opted for a temporary Shadow Boost, we are unable to provide you with a refund as your credit was used for the first month’s payment.

Q: Will Shadow Ultra and Infinite remain the same as advertised?
Yes, the components and hardware will remain the same as initially announced.

Q: Are users still being activated on Shadow Boost?
Shadow Boost pre-order activations will continue to be activated with a slight delay. For more information check your account page and refer to weekly dedicated forum post

So 2021 is in 2 months...what’s the status? Again we don’t get any information from you guys for months.

Shadow starts in south korea an we’re still waiting for hardware upgrades. This is getting more and more ridiculous by the hour. I bet korean customers will have their ultra and infinite hardware ready as soon as their instances get activated.

Shadow, you really know how to even piss off your most loyal customers.

Seeing in all the recent communications US and Korea they have said nothing about EU upgrade. They doing the same again they do every delay and that is say nothing until it is to late. I guess beginning of February we can expect some communication again saying delayed to beginning of summer/end of spring/… (insert your own vague date in here). If they had had anything and they know how ppl are waiting they would have announced something by now already if it was actually gonna be a FULL January rollout.

Btw. They have known for about a year now how many cards they need exactly (when did pre orders stop? + they introduced forced logout after 30min and have had over 6 months to calculate how many less new hardware they need because of that on the pre order accounts) so if January it is gonna be a random 5-10% get upgraded then we know that they can pay and source only a small amount in a year and you might be waiting another 4-5 more years.
