Its sad that in 2021 there are not other virtual pc providers like Shadow. And Im not talking about GeforceNow and other “gaming” focused services, only. What I personally need is a virtual pc for everything, Gaming, Rendering, CAD, Calculation, etc. Which I can use with an old, but still perfectly working silent notebook. I would be ready to pay $50/month for renting a virtual setup which costs $1,800 (lets say Shadow Boost) if it would be updated once a year. I dont want to own the hardware. I just need the power - the service. Buying a Notebook for $1,800 with i7, 16GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3070 8GB would be awesome. But in 3 years, I would have to throw it away or sell it for $300. Then I would have to invest $1,800 in another contemporary performance. Renting/leasing is always more expensive than buying. Paying 50$/month and expecting an upgrade once a year is ridiculous. „But in 3 years, I would have to throw it away or sell it for $300“ you clea

Why don’t you open a fundraising? Maybe we could “invest” in your service. for example you could create some investments tiers. like, if an user invest 100$ or more dollar he/she will have the service free for some months as soon as you’ll up again financially speaking.. I would be up for this. I use Shadow as my primary game PC, since I can't afford a gaming rig. However, I'd be more than happy to invest / fund the future of Shadow. You do realize that a gaming pc, that is far better than boost, is less than 1000€ nowadays and with financing of ~40€/month, this machine is yours after 2 years?! + it has residual value.
the suggestions are good but we don’t really know how much they are losing each month and at what point a profit is likely we also don’t know the min revenue they need each month. However it was said that they owe 3.2mill to the server people .A simple solution would be to ask each of the 70000 users to voluntarily donate £50 as a one off if everyone did that the debt would be clear of course not everyone will be able to and some will be able to give a bit more.Probably this is too simplistic and they owe much more in reality. This will not help at all.
I agree with all points to 100%! Sounds weird, but: I would be happy to pay more for my subscription if at least I can be sure it will have a future then! At the moment I pay 15,98 EUR for Boost + extra 256GB SSD. In the pricing model proposed above, this would be 22,98 EUR. That’s absolutely okay! Tell me where else I can get a (physical) PC with similar specs for even this price per month? Financing an already better gaming pc than Shadow for e.g. 900€ over 2 years, are 37,50€ per month and in contrast to Shadow, the PC belongs to me afterward and has a residual value. For what Boost offers, it makes no sense NOT to buy a PC. Just because the poor CPU in many games limits the performance or the meager 12Gb ram..not to mention the measly hard drive space. On top, you have better performance (fps), less lag, better image quality. You’re welcome.
I have already read several times on different platforms that Shadow is in a bad financial situation. The fact that we haven't received a single piece of information in over half a year shows how bad things are for Shadow as a company. It also clearly shows that Covid-19, as the main reason for a delayed delivery date, was a brazen, shabby lie.If you run a company in such a shitty way and lie to your customers, you deserve to go under. Apart from that, there is now another cloud gaming service that works exactly like Shadow. It is still more expensive at the moment, but still offers many advantages, such as no need to switch off and better performance.Shadow is therefore much more in trouble than it was a year ago without any real competition.
Just a question: how 4 cores/8 threads 3.4ghz for boost shadow service is “bottlenecking” the GPU? It’s one of the best processors out there…. Make some CPU benchmarks and compare results online. Afterward, you might wanna change what you said. Your welcome.
Agree zBeZz. C’mon, we’re early adopters of amazing new technology, and I for one am so happy to go on the ride and support anyway I can. The technology is incredible. So seamless and beautiful 60fps 4k... Great news of the USB over IP as I’m having to Bootcamp into Windows to play with Shadow on my Mac. Keep it going! “So seamless and beautiful 60fps 4k...”What are you playing on your shadow, Microsoft Solitaire? Seriously, nothing that isn’t like ages old runs even close to 4k@60fps. Even most stuff @1080p doesn’t even run that smooth cause the GPU/CPU is bottlenecking. And we are for sure not early adopters lol. Game streaming has been around for years.
So much salt, They’re doing what they can. It’s probably harder for them to obtain the equipment than it is for you or me. And it’s already nearly impossible for us to obtain. It’ll come as soon as it becomes feasible for them to gather, they can’t help something that is outside there control. “They’re doing what they can.”They are definitely not doing what they can. We don’t get any updates at all. This is something that could be changed from one day to another.“It’s probably harder for them to obtain the equipment than it is for you or me.”Then they should tell and inform us about that. (if that would really be the case...)Besides the fact that this is bullshit. It was stated they can’t go to China for new hardware but magically could establish Ultra/Infinite in the US. (No, the cards are not manufactured there...)Nothing is outside their control. You can travel to China for more than half a year again, there are no lockdowns, you can enter data centers and whatever else. This was a
@Wellnice There is no new information for the Europe Region. The USA is a different Region and subject to different expectations. You are heard. However, there is no new information. -Gelgoog Well then, maybe the community managers should sit down with those responsible and provide information. How you handle this is a laughing stock! After the absolutely miserable handling with us in February 2020, better customer communication and transparency was promised.Unless that was a lie, where are you holding up?You continue to screw us and are now surprised about such reactions?Until the end of summer 2020 we have not received a single status update and then, if it has surprised, came another postponement to early 2021.January is now soon over and instead of finally sitting down and informing his paying customers, you come at us with such "There are just no news" answers.Unless you've seriously made a tiny bit of progress in almost a full year, then maybe, just maybe..., Shadow should just d
If the delays are due to C-19, why is this available already in the US, which had Shadow much later than in the EU? No info in the forum post below my order, which is all Boost info. The moderator of that page suggested I make a support call... which I did and they told me nothing, directing me here for more information. Really? Still waiting. Leaving your most loyal customers in a complete vacuum, with the promise of hardware that, fifteen months later, is obsolete already, is not great customer service. All we're asking for is updates...not "here is a deadline and as soon as we're near it we'll move that deadline on for "reasons". @LucFromShadow “If the delays are due to C-19, why is this available already in the US”If you're still going to ignore us, which somehow has little to do with your job, maybe you'll at least manage to answer this question.
Dear support, Shadow Boost does not perform well. It gets only about 5,7k score in 3D Mark Time Spy, because of Xeon E5 CPU bottleneck (performance is like a i5 6600k with GTX 980). Now I am afraid of Ultra edition also performing lower then expected, and not recommended for resolutions above Full HD with higher quality settings or raytracing, especially on Next Gen Games. I really appreciate cloud gaming, but at the moment a local pc with 3070 GPU and fitting CPU seems to be the better choice. Will you replace 2080 Ti with 3080 GPU? Which CPU is used with Shadow Ultra? With all best wishes You can find dozens of videos of people benchmarking and testing Ultra and Infinite on Youtube.
@BrittaneyFromShadow How about giving us customers in the EU who pre ordered Ultra and Infinite MORE THAN 1 YEAR AGO finally some information.Pre-order October 2019 → first told we get it in February 2020, in February it was clear it was a lie and you just wanted to collect pre-orders to please investors...great.Then you told us, we get it by end of summer 2020….time passed by, we didn’t get any updates...worst customer service ever...end of summer came and oh surprise...we again don’t get anything...but are told to get it beginning of 2021 and promised better customer communication.Weeks and months have passed and we AGAIN didn’t get anything...2021 is in 2 weeks and there is ZERO communication towards YOUR CUSTOMERS.
That’s correct. But the thing that makes me very angry is, that they are not honest with us. They delay it over and over again and now 2021 isn’t even 4 weeks away and we don’t get any information at all.I have never experienced such pathetic customer communication.By now they should be able to tell whether we will get our preorders or not... but what do they choose to do? Again nothing. We were promised more transparent communication after the absolutely miserable course in February...once again a lie.
@LucFromShadow you simply ignoring it? Great job as a CM … @LucFromShadow Give us EU customers some news!!! Hey @Wellnice, as previously mentioned we have no news to announce at this time on this topic. We’ll let you know when there’s new information to share. Ridiculous. 2021 is in 4 weeks...I bet you’ll come up with the next lie, why we can’t get what we preordered in 2019(!!!) while magically US/Korea gets Ultra/Infinite...just ridiculous. If you can’t tell by now, 4 weeks ahead of 2021...at least you could be honest and say “beginning of 2021 isn't realistic at all”.
With such extensive backorders for some data centers, can you change your operating times to play catch up? It is working four days a week instead of five has to be taking a toll. If you only work four days a week. While orders are always coming in for seven days a week, it will take a long time to catch up. Having the additional day to assemble the Shadow Blades would make a big difference. Setting up new accounts five days a week still leaves people the weekend off. Or offer flexible schedules. Have the regular folks that work the Monday to Thursday and the crew that's Friday through Sunday. Then your setting up new accounts every day new orders are able to come through. However you split the hours up being able to set up more accounts during the week would be beneficial. Both your customers and your business operations. You'll have more active subscriptions each week. But activating new accounts on Fri, Sat, & Sun you will nearly have doubled
