With such extensive backorders for some data centers, can you change your operating times to play catch up? It is working four days a week instead of five has to be taking a toll. If you only work four days a week. While orders are always coming in for seven days a week, it will take a long time to catch up. Having the additional day to assemble the Shadow Blades would make a big difference. Setting up new accounts five days a week still leaves people the weekend off. Or offer flexible schedules. Have the regular folks that work the Monday to Thursday and the crew that's Friday through Sunday. Then your setting up new accounts every day new orders are able to come through. However you split the hours up being able to set up more accounts during the week would be beneficial. Both your customers and your business operations. You'll have more active subscriptions each week. But activating new accounts on Fri, Sat, & Sun you will nearly have doubled the accounts activatable
last updated on Friday, July 31. Q: What will be the duration of the delay? It is estimated that all Shadow Ultra and Shadow Infinite pre-orders are delayed to the beginning of 2021. However, given the current situation, there are many unknowns and we do not have enough clarity to provide a definitive answer.Q: What is the cause of delay? The enforced COVID-19 lockdown impacted our end-of-summer roll-out plan in many facets, including supply chain, production, labor, and access to datacenters. Q: Why weren’t the delays communicated sooner? We were waiting to have a clearer view on the situation. Unfortunately, due to its complexities, we are unable to get more information. We will keep you informed as the situation evolves.Q: How do I cancel my pre-order?You can cancel your pre-order at any time on your customer account page via the ‘My Orders’ tab to receive a full refund (can take 5-10 business days depending on your bank). For more information, please read this Help Center article.P
I am trying to download a somewhat big game and it says it will take like 3 hours to complete. Now i have to actively move the cursor or else eventually it will shut off automatically so i have to constantly monitor it for when the afk countdown starts. Is there any way i can disable this for the time being? Well I guess you shouldn’t download cracked games from slow filehosters. No matter which game from any library (Steam, Epic, Origin, Microsoft, BNET) will take anything close to 3 hours, with shadows internet connection.Even COD with well above 200gigs is downloaded in ~45 minutes.
uau, didn’t know that, I hoped that rtx 6000 is very powerfull graphic card and new games won’t be an issue. for the moment I play sc 2 and warcraft 3 reforged , the witcher 3 , resident evil 7 and fifa 20. other games not tried on boost . i play only in 2k and alsmost all max out on gtx 1080 for 1080p or 2k it shouldn’t be an issue in most games. But just that it was mentioned, it is not like everything runs with 100fps at max settings. Also in a lot of games the cpu is bottlenecking the gpu.
with a video card like titan rtx or rtx 6000 with 24gb of vram I don’t think you should be worried any time soon, maybe when 8k 60fps will be like 1080p 60 fps now , if they won’t upgrade hardware we can just cancel the subscription, very simple. I still hope that on holidays I can enjoy my Infinite Sorry to ruin your dream but the RTX 6000 isn’t anything near as powerful as you think. For example Metro Exodus in 4k with raytracing is running with an average of 29fps on Shadow Infinite. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey drops down to 37fps...in wqhd resolution(!!!).Read Dead Redemption 2 in 4k..average 43fps.As you can see, Shadow Infinite is already too weak for current 4k stuff and games that are already older, not to mention future games.
Hello, are we getting shadow infinite before 2021 or begining of 2021? begining of 2021 means January? As always, statements are made to be ambiguous, which is something Shadow has always liked to do.In the FAQ video released at the end of the summer, it was said that ideally, ultra/infinite activation can begin in early January 2021.I think we all know Shadow and the empty promises well enough by now to know, that this will surely be February, March, or even later. As we didn’t get any updates by now, although there aren’t any Covid-19 related delivery issues anymore, you can only imagine, that the reason for the current delay for sure wasn’t Covid-19. Looking forward to January and can’t wait for the next hilarious excuse they will bring up.
rendering and video editing 4k video Are you only rendering super short stuff or how do you keep shadow from shutting down? I used to use it for TensorFlow, neural network training and such, but since you can’t keep up the connection without moving the mouse every 1,5hrs, I can’t really use it anymore.
Same here, really bad I/O speed, I don’t think we’re on SSD more HDD RAID with ISCSI… Sometime it’s so bad that I just quit playing, I’ll unsub because of the poor performances. stock C:\ drive(left is read, right is write) additional 1TB drive Besides the crappy performance that really has nothing to do with true SSD speeds..check out the access times in the last line. The 1TB drive has 13ms for read access. This is 188 times slower than my laptops ssd.
They lied to us already several times. First, you could preorder it in October 2019 and it was said to be released in February 2020...in February 2020 they said “oh sorry, we lied to you, we just had to collect preorders first to please investors...you will get it at end of summer 2020”...and then end of summer 2020 the next lie “oh sorry we can’t give it to you, due to corona, if everything goes well, beginning of 2021”And no single update ever since. This is beyond ridiculous.Corona delivery issues are gone for months already, if this would be the reason for the delay, there would have already been new users getting ultra/infinite for quite some time...but nothing. Why are there no updates? How can new users get boost activations all the time(!) so apparently you do get new deliveries + have server farm access. The answer is easy: Because corona as a reason for the delay was and is bullshit.I see 2021 coming, they still didn’t give us any single update and then come up with the next r
That’s not the point. This is a pure rip off. They don’t pay retail prices, exactly.Retail price for data center drives is <16€/TB.So considering they get better prices, do the math...your basically paying the entire purchase price.Like getting a leasing car worth 40000€ and paying a monthly fee of 8000€ to RENT it.
So we gotta wait til next year and still have an RTX 2080 even though now the 30 series has been released?! Well...most of us (90%?) still have to use boost with its <GTX 1080 performance...totally skipping the RTX 2000 series.I see the delay due to two reasons:1. They again fucked something up/lied to us and wanted to collect more preorders to get cheaper discounts to be able to keep the promised prices low.2. They decided and said “let’s put the Ultimate/Infinite release on hold and let’s first check, whether we can directly jump to RTX 3000 series. As it was mentioned a lot of times, I really don’t believe them saying Corona is the reason for another half year delay. There are several reasons for this. There aren’t any lockdowns or delivery restrictions for months already anymore, that would require to push Ultimate/Infinite even anywhere towards 2021...this is 100% bullshit. If Corona and lockdown/delivery restrictions are the reason that they can’t get new hardware from China,
I’ve been playing Doom Eternal with no noticeable issues. I’m using a Shadow box on a 55inch TV with 300Mbps Internet and Google WiFi and haven’t even seen a hiccup. Latency seems to be about 15Ms and I get a constant 75fps set at 40Mb/s. I’m not sure if it has to do with how close you are to a data center or what but I’m going to guess each users experience is different. Yeah the closer you are to the data center the less lag you have, as the data packets have to travel less distance.
You clearly haven’t and here is why: With the massive performance increase in GPU power with the release of the RTX 30 series, the actual value per money for ultra and infinite further dropped heavily. You can basically buy a gaming pc for the same money as ~2,5 years of shadow subscription, but with way more power + even after 2,5 years, it is YOUR pc and you can sell it.Taking into consideration how many upgrades we saw in the last years at Shadow, it isn’t worth it. Boost still has the same performance sitting at below a GTX 1080.Even already an RTX 3070 has more power than the RTX 2080 TI AND the Quadro P6000 in the Infinite tier...and this GPU costs only 499€.On top, you can’t rely on shadow delivering stable performance. Some games run great, others run like total trash and are unplayable. This unreliable performance can definitely NOT be called “Desktop replacement” as it clearly is not.I had several support incidents and even the support team said “Shadow will never run as smooth
The Nvidia RTX 3000 series made Shadow Ultra and Infinite obsolete. Given the high performance of already the RTX 3070 for only 499, even Infinite is a waste of money for way less performance. On top of that, we even have to wait another half year for this way less performance.
