Hey all, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here, though please remember to keep it civil. Regarding the claims of instant-access vs pre-orders in our communication, this is a definite shift we made in response to the global pandemic impacting our services, both in terms of limits we had to put in place and changes necessary to our communication about Shadow itself. Before March 2020, Shadow Boost (or Shadow Legacy) activations happened in 2-5 hours on average in the US, with some varying activation delays (Chicago in January). As activation times consider multiple factors and we have not encountered this scenario before, it has been a bumpy road that we are determined to take only as a challenge to improve. As a last point to address the notion we are providing false delivery dates I’d like to note this week’s discrepancy in volume of activations at each datacenter: Amsterdam 3 days worth of pre-orders activated this week Paris 4 days worth of pre-order
@Wellnice The manufacturing factories are shutdown or running at minimum capacity. “TSMC has said that production in its Chinese facilities remains on track despite the coronavirus outbreak impacting output at a number of factories in the country” so, you got a source for your information?

Nothing but poor excuses. Just because you and your company, in particular, don't have issues, doesn't mean every other company is in the same situation. I don't sugar coat things, I'm trying to be positive and look at things I can see, and not be so negative about everything and speculate so much. And why do you suddenly attack me for being trying to be positive and call everything I say “*removed*”. I've been waiting 2 months now and just today, 3 days before the end of juli, my activation date changed from juli 2020 to 2021!!!!!!!!!!! I'm really, really pissed!!! Ya that’s pretty much the definition of a scam. Advertise instant access, then delay but guarantee access by a certain date. Once that date passes they send out a generic email telling you it will be soon but we all know it won’t be for another several months. Yet you have our money. SCAM all the way thru. I’m an artist. Ya I could put on my site that I can paint you something and get it to you the same day, hell if I did I would be rich but what if I just took the money and didn’t paint anything, or if I do I would paint It months or years from now. As we don’t see any single person stating, he got his ultra/infinite for weeks and months and the fact, that the shadow staff ignores every single thread where people ask about ultra/infinite, makes pretty clear, something is definitely not going as planned.
Hi @ArronUK123, You may be aware that Ultras/Inifinites configurations encountered delays. Since mid-February, we know that these configurations should start to be activated by the end of the summer (as indicated in your customer account information). “should start to be activated by the end of the summer” funny...because the mods over on discord said, “latest by the end of summer”. Hi, Thanks so much for your feedback. We have not permanently closed activation time updates. There will be a new one today. We simply closed the comments on that activation thread as people were posting false information in the comments about Shadow and activation times. Additionally, we will be coming out soon with more communication answering everyone’s questions. We read all of your feedback and are working on delivering both answers and solutions to Shadow users as soon as possible. Thanks! What about infinite updates? Why don’t you give us ANY information? Don’t you care about all the people constantly asking and thinking about getting a gaming PC instead, due to your absolutely catastrophic information politics? @Wellnice @Costanius @Eastiling We just have to be patient and wait, I’m sure they will be posting updates when they have something worthy of updating. If it was delayed they would have likely already updated us. This makes absolutely no sense. There are so many people waiting, if things would go on as planned, there would be people that get activated from time to time, same as boost. But there is just nothing. If the plan is, to activate 90% of the remaining waiting customers all at once (which I highly doubt as it makes absolutely no sense), this is important information that should be shared. There is something not working as planned at all...and they’re probably just afraid to tell, otherwise, there is no reason not to come up with a short statement like “everything is going well, the schedule is still valid”. Also, I thought official staff is available here and would make a statement after seeing this...also nothing.
@LilyI completely agree with the OP. Not giving us a status update of ultra/infinite is a bit lame in my opinion. There is always news if You really want to keep us updated! Why not tell us about the current status, how building the datacenter is coming along, what the current problems and blockers are? Will there be a delay again? I’m fully aware of the current world situation and for me it won’t be a problem to accept another delay. Is there a problem getting all the hardware? Ok, no problem for me, that could be expected in the current situation. But why not tell us if it is so? Are there problems with the new configuartions running smooth? Ok, thats to be expected and will need more tweaking. No problem for me. But why not tell us if that is the case? Many others and me just would like to know what is going on! My pre-order of ultra is from december 2019 and I need to make a decision now: Get a new gaming pc now or keep waiting for ultra... Couldn’t have said it better
If you want to play shooters, I would consider something with an ethernet connection. I am considering an ATEN UH3236… will see if i find a better option. Has anyone tested this with Shadow before? Never read of heard of anyone doing it. Maybe you can get a fast reply on Discord.
Thanks for the post. I was aiming to get a high end gaming laptop this year, but in my opinion Intel bricked all Ryzen 4000 laptops on the market, and OEMs play balls with Intel, so I jumped on cloud gaming insteada. When I get activated, (prob (end of) Aug according to my sub message) if shadow brings the quality, I would be considering getting a dock and a portable monitor for my OnePlus 8 pro, and turn this into a less heat, less noise, cheap portable high end gaming station through cloud gaming. If you want to play shooters, I would consider something with an ethernet connection.
As mods said, people should be activated by the latest(!) end of summer, this means there should be a lot that’s actually happening right now. End of summer is about in ~2months. They can’t pull up the same shit they did in February again. Ridiculous enough that there hasn’t been any single official mail with ANY information. “sorry for the delay we are currently planning xyz” “our goal is still valid, we are working on abc” “it will be delayed again / people do already get activated”… Nothing...just nothing.
