Got it - I think I understand now. You’re saying that there is the streaming latency between you and your Shadow VM (as measured in the “Quick Menu”), and then on top of that, the latency between the Shadow VM and wherever the online game server(s) are. Is that correct? Exactly. And I'd like to know if the reason I can't play online is due to my high latency at home. In other words are there people with low latency who are able to play online, using Shadow.

The games run fine although for me I'm unable to play FIFA online as the latency causes button lag and we all know you can't win a game with button lag as the other person is able to react quicker to everything. If you're playing offline it's absolutely fine. Football Manager is perfect, although I haven't tried online I don't imagine any issues.To be fair I already have latency of around 26ms, so adding the 20 odd ms of Shadow on top of that isn't great.
Informative. I have also personally tried them all and Shadow is the best alrounder. The negatives I've found are the CPU and the storage space. Also latency from the UK to the server in France. It's early days for cloud streaming so I accept these negatives but I wouldn't give up my gaming PC for it and until that happens cloud streaming won't hit the big time. I'm hoping in future I can give up my gaming PC and use Shadow but that will mean a better CPU, a server in the UK, more storage space and the cost staying around the same, which I don't think will be anytime soon. I'll be keeping my subscription regardless and I hope many others do the same as in supporting it, in the beginning, the profits may go towards these improvements.
Tried Shadow out a year or so back and whilst I thought it was an outstanding concept and nobody else could match it, I just felt I wasn't getting worth on the old plan, considering how little I was using it, it was basically a novelty for me, despite how much I loved it. I have a gaming PC at home, which has a graphics card a little below the 1080 used with Shadow but with a better CPU and 4GB more RAM. With only HD monitors, I didn't have enough of a reason to use it. Since the whole COVID situation, my wife has been using my gaming PC to work from home and will be, at least until the new year. This means I can use my low spec 2-in-1 to game on, with not much of a loss on quality, even on latency. Any loss is simply due to the distance between the UK and the server in France but with low latency on the server side, there isn't much difference. I'm hoping mine is ready for tomorrow. I've booked the week off work as I haven't had any time off this year and needed the break to just relax. My wife is working from home so using my gaming PC. Would be great to be able to use my underpowered laptop for some gaming. Anyway, it is what it is. I'll wait.
