Hi all, new user here and had this amazing machine less than 1 week and it never fails to amaze me and its quite simply stunning. My setup is boost with 1tb extra storage and running it via an nvidia shield tv pro but you would never guess it given the performance, and you would expect to find a high end gaming pc somewhere in here but no just my trusty shield and it is handling it amazingly well. I have installed virtual here on my shield and the client on shadow and i now have access to my usb peripherals which just adds to this wicked setup with android currently being unsupported in that area at the moment. A couple of issues i needed resolving on starting up due to being new and support have been sensational with their help and very quick and responsive so thankyou to them. My family have 3 of the amazing machines now in less than a week and each one was ready in about a day and the fastest 1hr 30 mins from purchase. I have had the randomest issues with shadow, but I knew they were because of my PC. Random games causing extreme glitters and artifacts to appear every other second. My desktop having a lag that made it so if I shook around a window you could get the entire stream to become insanely choppy. But internet was no issue, and at times everything would just work. I found the answer to this issue, Sometimes plugging your laptop into serveral different displays changes it's refresh rate. For instance my Acer laptop can't handle 60hz with any resolution above 2560 x 1440. So whenever I plug it into my TV, it automatically gets set to 30hz. Sometimes when you unplug it the setting will be reset back to original but when it doesn't there will be issues streaming with shadow. If your shadow is set to stream at 60hz,144hz,30hz, or whatever. And your laptop isn't setup to the same parameters you will get tearing and streaming problems like crazy.The second I realized this I started double checking
One of the reasons I switched from GeForce Now to Shadow was the prospect of coding in Unity, especially their ML-Agents package. I was worried that machine learning might be against the ToS (I've read about some of the bigger machine learning models trained by Google/Nvidia using more energy than the lifetime multiple cars) so I submitted a ticket asking about shadows policy on machine learning. The response I got said that network computing is against the ToS... nothing about ML. I tried to clarify that I was talking about A.I. and the support "hero" responded saying he would ask his team. He later replied saying that A.I./Machine Learning is indeed considered to be a form of network computing and not allowed on shadow. This doesn't make any sense as ML is basically just matrix multiplication, but at an extreme scale. Anyone know what this person means? What other kind of code might be considered "network computing"?
Hi. I ended my sub a few weeks ago, but basically, despite loving Shadow, the quality, and customisation of my Shadow, I found the inability to run Shadow on my Wayland compositor, which I didn’t want to have to use X11 again really frustrating. I use Sway myself, and have a compositor in progress (my own), so relying on either X11 or rebooting to Windows was a pain. I was wondering though, thinking of coming back, but is there any progress on Wayland? Shadow is perfect for me, it’s literally just Wayland at this point :( Thanks!
Hi, this is Nanaciel reporting ahah... today I'm going to give you the solution to the R-300 error for mobile devices. At least this is a workaround that I found. I don't think I'm the only person who had this mistake and panicked xD. This error as indicated on the shadow service means that your hardware is not supported by shadow. But little problem my phone is from 2019 ahah!. Let's go to the solution! It's very simple, you have to use the beta application. You can register on the play store or do as I did through your shadow or local computer to go to the site and proceed as follows Once on this page, you must scroll to see the available beta applications. Then you take the android version. This will redirect you to the official google page to register for the shadow beta program. Before you are admitted to the beta program it takes 5 to 10 minutes. But once it is done you will receive an update of the application on the play store. it's very important you have to install the
