ShadowStreamer consumes all my RAM

As seen in the screenshot ShadowStreamer.exe somehow needs most of the available RAM on my Shadow.

This happens while gaming or even while doing nothing. It raises to the maximum, then it somehow collapses and starts raising again. And so on and so on. Gaming is nearly impossible at that time. Seems to happen only in the mornings (German time).

I tried different settings and restarts, but that didn’t help on the long run.

What can I do?

I have the same problem.

Yes, I'm having the same issue.

It gets so bad, that programs crash du to memory issues and even writing this thru google chrome was not possible annymore.

I hope this can be fixt very soon.

I had this problem when I first started up Shadow this morning, didn’t know what was causing it. But apparently when I switched audio settings, whenever it was High it was eat up all my memory and cause other programs to not even start up. Switched it to regular and it’s perfectly fine but I can’t hear most things. I hope they do fix this cause I wasn’t like this few days ago.

OK… I feel strangely better knowing that others are having this issue.   I even performed a reset on my Shadow system thinking that I might have hosed it when installing a mod for Subnautica.  TBH… this is actually the first time I really used it since the switch they performed a month or so ago.

BTW… I did open a ticket with support.  In the past they have been pretty quick in responding.

You are absolutely right! I just tried it too and the sound settings directly affect the memory. So that's at least a dirty workaround, since no sound comes in at all for me that way. But at least I can play again ;)

@Shadow: Please contact me if you need any help or more information.

The problem has been solved for me since I installed the latest NVIDIA driver.

That did not have an effect on me unfortunately. After switching back to high sound quality, it again rose to 10gig.

I tried this as well, and while I did see the usage drop from 97% to 66%, it was still a sizable amount of memory for what I was trying to do.  I have not tried updating the video s/w yet, as was mentioned in another post.  Not sure if that would make a difference or not.

same here...no audio and streemer-process uses all of my memory!

Please fix this!

OK… So yesterday I get an email from Shadow Tech support asking me the audio question.  I told them that I had been using high quality, but then lowered it to regular before they emailed me.  The prior evening, when I did that, it only took it from 97% mem usage to about 67% usage, not a great improvement.   When I saw the email, I logged in again and it was peaking at about 26% and stayed in that area.  Today it is hovering around 39%.

I am not sure if they did something or not, or maybe it was part of some work they were doing on the back end.  But for now I look like I am stable (at least the Shadow session is, no comment on me, personally.)

I observe the same thing. I found that switching to regular quality did the trick, but I had to restart shadow to see it affect the memory.

There was an update today, that solved all my problems! I hope it also works for all of you. Thanks for sorting things out. Have a nice easter!

Same problem.

Keep killingit, but as soon as it restarts, it spikes again within few minutes..

Makes everything very slow. Not sure how to check for updates, but apparently it didnt fix it for me. I also just ordered my shadow few days ago..
