Hey all, I tried the following services * Stadia pro (I pre-ordered my exclusive controller) * GeForce Now founders edition * Shadow (going for infinite once beta strats soon 🥳) I am what the industry calls Early adopter, an important note is that I live in Toronto, Canada and my internet is gigabyte Fibre to home so experiences may vary tested all services on PC, Oled 4k TV and Android smart phones oneplus 7 and 8 pro Didn't mention Xbox and Playstation due to the exclusivity and non so much competitive nature with the three mentioned So here are the pros and cons of all services. Stadia Pros: * no need for an android box. Chrome cast and their controller would do the trick, chrome browser extension and direct phone with controller on modern phones also work. * Their controller is actually pretty comfortable to use * Despite other beliefs the games ran very smoothly with no stuttering, lag, pixilation/smudging or problems. * ease of play as promised, open the app p
As seen in the screenshot ShadowStreamer.exe somehow needs most of the available RAM on my Shadow. This happens while gaming or even while doing nothing. It raises to the maximum, then it somehow collapses and starts raising again. And so on and so on. Gaming is nearly impossible at that time. Seems to happen only in the mornings (German time).I tried different settings and restarts, but that didn’t help on the long run. What can I do?
If your Shadow CPU is at 100% for no apparent reason. Fear not! The current known solution is to wait 20 minutes for the process to clear….. Why so long? Im curious as well…. Please post any further information you uncover on this in the comments.
Well as shadow let’s you have your own pc and gives you a lot of tweaks for you bandwidth. I suggest going for shadow only $11 for A yearly subscription of shadow boost and $15 for an monthly subscription of shadow boost it’s an unbelievable deal. Shadow used to be $35 that’s crazy. But my opinion does not matter just by price it’s how it performs. Now as shadow does have bugs and problems. It’s still and great cloud gaming service I suggest going with shadow because anyway the time is long for activation it’s worth it you don’t have any interruptions on your games and gameplay shadow supports up to 15mbps but works better with no packet loss and low ping. I really enjoy there community and I know you would to. If you want to have an great talk with amazing people I suggest put your preorder in and head over to the discord shadow. Has many options for editors and gamers join the community now.!!! this is my opinion please respond below on your thoughts.
Up until recently, Shadow only offered 256GB of Storage. However, you are now able to purchase more storage at an additional monthly cost. However, if you do not want to pay for extra storage, or still want to make sure you are making the most of available space on your Shadow, here are some quick tips on freeing up some space :). Tip 1 - Windows Updates This is a HUGE culprit when it comes to storage on pretty much any Windows 10 machine. When Windows 10 Updates, it creates a Windows.Old folder. This folder can have anywhere from 10-30GB (or more) of data in it. For Shadow in particular, you may need to update Windows the day it is set up, or soon after since it is running an older version. After the update, you may notice your free storage space drop a decent amount. Here is how you can delete that Windows.Old folder and other temp files to free up some storage space. How to delete old Windows Updates and other temp files Go to the Windows Search function, type in "Cleanup", an
I'm a VDI engineer, meaning I build and support Enterprise virtual desktop environments, typically using Citrix technology as the main point of delivery, with others mixed in. Until Onlive and later Sony popularized the idea of cloud gaming to me, the only knowledge I had on the subject was Citrix's old ICA/HDX protocol and later, GPU support. The entire protocol was TCP at the time. They now have UDP support in the protocol, but framerates are still limited at 60 fps. Naturally, it's built for many users using as little bandwidth as possible, not buttery smooth gaming. Shadow, parsec, etc are obviously built for a different purpose. But what does Shadow infra look like? Does it run on KVM? Xen? ESX? Is each VM entirely persistent (as they appear to be?) Hardware wise, is shadow built on hyperconverged? Is there already some place where I can discuss these things?
Hi, I have my Shadow account activated and would like to make best use of it. However, I don’t have the chance to have a Shadow Ghost and it seems like it is not available. Not able to find any 2nd hand neither… Then, without that, how do you connect to your Shadow account? I can for sure use my iPhone or iPad, but not really convenient as we cannot connect mouse or keyboard… Also, connexion to any screen is complicated… Thank you in advance for your tips and, if possible, info on when a new box (ghost or other) will be avialable.
Every few days while booting up shadow I see: “update in progress” either from the launcher or right before I start my shadow. WHAT are you guys updating? Seriously there are no new features and I'd have trouble believing there are that many bug fixes. If you are releasing bug fixes, where are the patch notes? people want to see their issues getting resolved via updates but there are NO PATCH NOTES. Why? Seriously every other software developer in the world has release notes. Please add your release notes so we’re not in the “shadows” about what's happening with these updates. It's a little frustrating. Note: I’m on beta, which is why there maybe so many updates, I dont care how many updates there are, my point is about no patch notes.
The Shadow terms of service prohibit VPN use, and state “Committing the following activities in this article may cause your account to be terminated“ The listed reason is that you might make it impossible to access your shadow without a reset. However it only says “VPN”, not “System-Wide VPN”; A browser extension VPN could never affect your shadow’s functionality. The blanket ban on VPNs seems kinda weird. I’ve tried the VR Alpha and had to factory reset my Shadow because of a bug, but it seems odd to me that-Me, Messing up my Shadow… Is a violation of TOS.It’s not like a person would have to involve Shadow customer service to reset their Shadow, you just use the website and reset it. I’m not saying people should try to use a system-wide VPN, but I’m also not suggesting people should to try use Shadow on a 2.4GHz wifi connection… There should be a difference between a user creating a bad experience for themselves, and breaking TOS. This seems like it should be a warning, of like, “He
I am a new shadow subscriber. I was hoping to use this as a main PC. A week and a half into my first month I can already see this is not possible. Every time I press the start shadow button it is a gamble if it will start or not.Once it starts, it works very well for me, impressive really. I am not sure what the problem is with shadow that it decides to not start or why an hour later it starts up without any issue. There seems to be a great possibility with this service and I hope the shadow team can get the basics fixed.
I have read about A New Beginning in Sight for Shadow and I have learned that the service may go extinct if no new investor is found. Here is my ideeas to make the service profitable since there are too manny unlimited for the current price range for contract and monthly.1. Increase the price of monthly and annually by 5 euros and the ultimate plan etc accordingly .2.Limit inactivity vm auto-shutdown to 10 minutes.3.Cut connection speed from 1Gbs to 100 Mbps that is way enough for everyone and thus less bw costs.4. Max playtime per day of 8 hours, who plays more than that? Heavy gamers can afford a gaming pc.5.More strict enforcement of miners and other activities outside of the gaming range which may negatively affect gaming experience of others or too high load or heat on the server nodes - they can go to paperspace for that.6.Ban vpns accessing the service, add a ban on non supporting countries from way too afar the geographic range as if someone from India using Paris the bandwidth
As an rts gamer, I can barely play games like anno 1800 because the cpu really shows its age at this point. Is there any plan for an early access for the ultra or infinite?I plan to use shadow forever assuming I can keep my unlimited internet.
I am getting a lot of mixed input on the Shadow Ghost. On one hand Shadow tells us how popular they are and how the sell out so quickly when they become available. Yet on the other hand the Shadow Ghost is the most ignored platform. The Ghost is missing features that all other platforms have, including the “Quick Menu”. The Ghost is also unable to use an external USB mic unless you have very low ping. Not to mention there are no built in diagnostic tools on the Ghost. After just watching the VoD of the Q&A with the new CTO and there being no mention at all of the Ghost, I think the answer becomes obvious. So I ask you, why do you think that the Shadow Ghost, Blade’s in house Shadow machine, is being all but abandoned?
I ordered a Boost in April (Paris) and I'm aware shadow had been rolling out long before this date, my concern is that the spec for Boost packages is already dated imho, 12 GB of RAM is not enough to play most 2020 releases even at a minimum requirement. Understandably there are higher spec options but I imagine these to be for playing games with best graphics quality and 4/8k displays. When will promised upgrades be considered, because currently I would argue that a Boost PC is not a high end gaming rig, more average if anything.
