Audio Suttering When using Mouse

Description of issue: If I’m watching a video or playing games, as soon as I move my mouse, audio starts stuttering. If I don’t touch my mouse, nothing happens.

Date: 6/6/2020

Yes I took some actions. I turned down the allocated bandwidth, I turned on prefer reliability, I also switched to the alpha build of shadow. None of which alleviated the issue.

I don’t use a antivirus or VPN

Cant take a screenshot but The stats were,

Frame Rate: 36 FPS

Bandwidth: 5.2 Mbps

Latency: 22.0 Ms

Connection Drops (Packet Loss): 0.0%

Hello, when this happens. Can you open CMD/Terminal and run a tracert or traceroute(Unix/Mac) from your local host to Shadow or vice versa. You can check your ip on your Host and Shadow by typing “whats my ip address” in a web browser. You’re looking for IPv4 since IPv6 isn’t supported.  Some ISP will have IPv6 implemented, so you’ll need to discover your IPv4. Then send a screenshot here of the responses when its finished.

Also, are you currently using a wired or wireless to connect to your Shadow? Also, as for your mouse, is it wired or wireless? Like WiFi, Bluetooth also operates on the same radio frequency band at 2.4GHz.

Okay, good news. We can knockout your response to your ISP isn’t the issue. Getting them to fix a line, is like getting gold from a leprechaun. Let’s go over what were looking at. The command sends a series of requests to the destination computer and displays each hop to the destination. (A hop happens when a message moves from one router to another.) The results show computers along the route that might be giving delays. When you route to 162.213.48.125, you’ll receive a bit of a delay. Doing some digging, it’s the data center in NY. 

Okay, you might be saying to yourself, “so what can I do on my end?” You can wait, grab a snack, and be patience. The weekend, pandemic, so many factors come into play when routing to that data center. If you want to get really technical and get your hands abit dirty, you can go into your router and update your QoS (Quality of Service).
