So i got my shadow but for some reason 7pm to 10:45 each night the server will start to drop like crazy. I will run a test on my end all good. Speeds around 250 mbps. If i run a test on the shadow app 8mbps. This is with the same internet with fiber. So i did a speed test also on the shadow tech website hitting 100 mbps. Did i get put on a wrong server. Did a check this morning all good now Shows 151 mbps on the shadow app. For some reason this will only happen from 7pm to 10:45pm. But last night i was getting two speeds with the website say i was around 50 mb/s with the app saying 16mb/s to as low as 8 mb/s.

I have attached two photos of the issue going on. I love shadow but i cant keep it if i can not game for 4 hrs of the day that happens to be the only time i can play. This is with fiber internet also so not sure what is going on. Also sorry for my spelling i have a learning disability.

Where do you live, and which data center is your Shadow located in? Anecdotally it looks like Internet congestion occurring during “prime time,” if it works normally at other times.

That’s hard to say without some investigation, as it could be “beyond” your own ISP.

Do you have a good experience outside of the timeframe you listed?

You might want to also compare your experiences (during the same times) with different cloud gaming services, such as Nvidia’s GeForce NOW or Stadia, if you can. It isn’t “exactly” apples-to-apples, but would be good to know if you have time-based issues with those as well.

Happy you asked that. Yea both stadia also GeForce now do it at the same time with the same issues. On stadia my speed will drop to 8.6 mb/s. So it’s a issue on all for me same time ends the same time

The various cloud-gaming services all use relatively high-throughput UDP streams (by default), which can be more sensitive to congestion than other types of traffic. Other problems can happen too, but if you’re consistently having issues during “prime time,” it sure sounds like that’s what’s happening.

If you’d like, you can seek additional help in the #community-help channel of the Shadow Discord...there are people in there who can help with these types of things in real-time.

If you are using Windows locally, one thing you can do is compare the results of this command-prompt command during the different times - when having problems and when not. It might not reveal much as it’s a different type of traffic than streaming, but it can potentially be a useful data point.

If you are using macOS (or want a graphical view in Windows), you can interrogate the same endpoint in the 3rd-party software Ping Plotter - there is a free version available for simple traces.

Thank you for all the amazing help on this. We got new internet service to see if that will help. So i will see on friday if that will help. After some long thinking we do have fiber but its a local little company so maybe the issue is that the company can not handle all the people on at night. So we will see if this will help.
