External Hard Drive

I have 2 external hard drives plugged into my PC. My real PC detects them but Shadow PC doesn’t. I have usb peripherals turned on but nothing appears when I open the Shadow and look into the USB menu. What do I do? The external hard drives are both 1tb My Passport WD

Yes, I know that external hard drives are bad without good upload speed. I’ve got it covered, 200mb/s upload speed, and even if there is some loading screen mess ups, I just really don’t care enough for that to be a big deal to me.

Hello, thanks for reaching out to the community for help. Nice HD’s by the way. I need that type of storage in my life. Okay, first let’s talk about Shadow. Shadow is a VM (Virtual Machine) that has resources your subscribing to. That includes SSD, CPU, and the GPU. Having the 2 extra external HD’s won’t matter since your Shadow PC isn’t using your resources. It’s not like VMware or Virtual Box. You’re subscribing to rent a HIGH-END PC that has it’s own resources. If you’re looking for more storage, you can upgrade from your account. Hope this helps.

I’ve read online, and even on the shadow help page, it says that you can add external hard drives to add more storage to your Shadow PC. Shouldn’t it at least allow me to use USB over IP and use my upload speed to use that external hard drive?

Even 200 Mbps of upload wont be enough to use the Harddrives for anything more but file transfer. You need dozens of gigabits of upload to make it work properly. Plus if your connection is even somewhat unstable, or your ping is over 35 or is very volatile that will cause issues too. It is just generally not recommended for anything more than file transfer.
