Getting constant lag spikes starting today?

I’m on a wired connection and everything was working fine all week. But starting today I’m getting constant lag spikes making gaming near impossible. My latency usually lives right around 27 and I can play things with no issue. But today it’ll be around 27 for 10 seconds, spike to around 70 then go right back to normal for another 10 seconds. I’ve tried rebooting Shadow, my internet and my laptop so I’m not sure what else I can do.

Can you provide a screenshot of your Quick Menu (WIN+ALT+O) during the problematic gameplay? It will look like this:

You can also use https://www.testufo.com/ (selecting the “Compare Frame Rates: Video Game Motion”) for assessing stream performance.

In your settings under Streaming, is the preference set to “Prefer speed (UDP)” or “Prefer reliability (TCP)” ?

It is a new bug that I also encountered I had up to 1000 ping spikes.

One “fix” I found is to change 2-3 times form UDP to TCP connection.
It usually stops after that.

Same issue from me, over last few days. starts bad then do a few restarts and all clears.

With the screenshot you have shared, it looks like there is latency and packet loss on your network. This will cause issues when trying to maintain a stable connection with Shadow. Network issues can usually be resolved by power-cycling/rebooting your router or modem.

Try power-cycling your network:

1. Shut down your computer

2. Unplug the power to your router

3. Unplug the power to your cable/DSL modem and wait 15 seconds

4. Restart your modem and wait for all lights to return

5. Restart your router and wait for all lights to return

6. Start your computer again and connect to your Shadow to see if the issue persists
