Hey Shadow-Support, if you force people to save the login credentials with the new client update then at least provide an option where i can revert this. I´m using Shadow from different devices and i don´t want to have my username and passwort stored on every device. I searched the options but i did not find any setting to revert this. Not really understandable to me why you push users to store the credentials. How about you just let me choose for myself? Thanks for the help.
So simple. For about 1 Month now , everything who has to do with alt - tabulator , function has real problems. On Shadow Box (newest version) . Others work fine, yes fix this please . Problems happening with alt Tab : Constant Tone/ loosing connection/ no signal / Big Problem .
I noticed recently that my Shadow’s (California, US) performance became slower. When I first got the server, the download and upload speeds were symmetrical (around 1.0 Gbps), but now when I test the upload speed of the server with Netflix's Fast.com, or speedtest.net it starts off around 1 Gbps upload, and immediately jumps down to around 100 - 200 Mbps of upload. Hello!! So I have Shadow running on my iPad Pro when i am away from my laptop and I was wondering how to activate a virtual trackpad. Latency and Input lag with games installed on the auxiliary drive, extended solution that Shadow Tech offers
First of, this are my first topic creation and my second post on Shadow Tech new forum site, service, and I have been a subscriber since 2018 or so. My experience shows that games installed on the auxiliary drive, extended solution that Shadow Tech offers, gives variable latency that impact the playability of these games into unplayable state. The challenge may be two sided though; one through the default OS drive, and one through the auxiliary drive. For my side I do not foresee my connection to the Shadow are the issue, since I play Star Citizen though the service, see more on that below. At the moment I have this games running on the auxiliary drive: World of Warships - unplayable. This through EU, NA and Test servers for World of Warships. Restart stream do not help here. My Time At Portia - semi unplayable due to its gaming phases are mostly not real time and play wise can be manipulated by accessing menus and then Restart stream, with 8 out of 10 this works for a duration
One faithful night, I noticed some latency with my shadow. I decided I should restart streaming. After doing this, I couldn’t use my shadow anymore. I waited hours after restarting it. Nothing would work. I still to this day can’t use my shadow. I have contacted support and they still couldn’t solve my issue.
So I went to turn on shadow and it starts normally, until it gets to step three or just stops the start up entirely. Kinda getting a little mad. I have shut it down for more than 30 minutes and it still won’t start up. I haven’t updated to Windows build 2004 (Atleast I don’t think I did) Please, help.
Wondering if Shadow might indulge me with a little information on how it handles transport security. Based on previous threads, which are relatively limited, it seems Shadow uses UDP to stream from the Shadow instance back to the client unless you choose TCP. My experience with the TCP options was not as good as a typical VDI or RDP session, the basic desktop would artifact, lag, and ghost. The typical discussion point to choosing UDP centers around reducing latency and higher gaming performance. Unless wrapped in a TLS or IPSEC tunnel, UDP isn’t typically encrypted. Now it’s valid to consider that what is streaming down from the Shadow instance to the client, it’s normally screen data and sound. Risk here is relatively small for gaming assuming proper password masking for applications on the instance. But how does the client handle data being sent to the instance? Primarily keystroke and peripheral (camera and sound/voice)? Unencrypted keyboard and peripheral (camera, sound/
I recently got my Shadow, and I was excited to finally play games and talk to my friends at the same time. I set up my microphone, turn on the setting, and nothing happens. I switch my mic to the external Shadow microphone option, and I still get no audio from my microphone. I decide to forward the USB to the Shadow, and it works. But, sometimes the microphone CUTS OUT COMPLETELY, and I must go back to the Discord tab, and re-enable the microphone. I’ve tried to fix this with voice changers, and the microphone STILL cuts out randomly. I’ve tried everything, and I don’t know what to do. Can someone please help me?
Hello! This is my first time posting on this forum! :) I have an odd problem. I play a few games on Shadow, but my main game is Overwatch (the others are also FPS games with the same problem). My issue is major input lag. When I first launch the game, for 30-45 seconds, no input lag, but after that, when I move my mouse, about 400ms after, the cross hair moves. The weird part is that if I tab out of the game (it’s still running) and reopen it, the lag goes away for another 30-45 seconds. Happens every time to all the games I tried (Apex, Fortnite, GTA V even an aim trainer I found on Steam). It has started about 2 months ago. I’m told that it’s the influx of people overloading their servers, but I’m hoping there’s another explanation/fix. To make this more interesting, I also use GeforceNow. ZERO issues. No input lag or any problems. On my end, I’m connected via Ethernet; 500mb/s up and down. I have an i7 and a 1060 Windows machine. I have like zero storage for games, which
Hi. my logitech model G533 headphones have problems with the microphone the application detects the microphone and on my PC that is a mac they work perfectly, but when entering a game or the Discord it does not work. the sound is going perfectly, the problem has arisen since today, yesterday it worked perfectly
So I’ve been having this issue with Shadow on one of my PC’s. It’s only been the case since the latest Shadow update, dated 08-Jul-2020. The video while doing anything (games or even just watching a video) tends to now skip or surge, it’s like there’s missing frames or something. The audio is unaffected. It only happens on my mini PC that I have connected to my TV in the living room. No other device has this issue, so I know it's the device itself. What has corrected the issue for me is enabling low end configuration on the launcher. Problem is gone when it’s enabled. All this is fine, but my question is what changed? Why all of a sudden do I need to use this setting whereas in the past I didn't. Again, I don't mind, the setting works but still…. Did the latest update add new features on the app that the mini PC can no longer handle?
Im using shadow for about a month. The first week was great. Latency stable at 30ms. Since last week, i keep getting +40. (Paris Server) I did a test in Amsterdam and Paris. How is it possible that im getting 43ms in Paris and 46ms in amsterdam (From Spain) Both with ethernet cable
I've noticed that the video stutters somewhat in Forza 7 and CS:GO, during fast motion. Halo MCC is the only other game I play on Shadow, but motion seems a lot better in that game. All the games are running well above 60fps. It doesn't seem to be a bandwidth or latency issue either; the Shadow speed test has never gone below 100mb bandwidth or above 30ms latency. The issue occurs on both my Apple TV and MacBook Pro. The stuttering is difficult to explain, but I've done some video editing in the past and it looks the same as when you encode a video using codecs or settings that aren't intended for fast motion. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any particular video settings that are considered optimal? Eg. full screen vs. windowed, v-sync, frame rate cap, etc. Anything else to consider? Is this just par for the course with game streaming?
Shadow has been working flawlessly for the last month or so for me. However just a day or two ago the audio started crackling and sounding like static... I reached out to shadow support and they suggested me running a speed test to the datacenter (Chicago) to assess the connection. My results kind of concern and confuse me - can anyone explain to me what might be causing my connection to behave erratically like the speedtest results below show (all taken within minutes of eachother)? To be clear right now i'm not necessarily trying to solve the audio crackling problem, I'm trying to figure out what is going on with my connection. Shadow suggested that the Jitter is the concern. Background: I use the Eero mesh router network, hard wired into the gateway router, i've reset the router, I use spectrum internet 200 mbps download, and I'm about 40 miles from the shadow datacenter. Test 1: Latency -18, Jitter - 6, MBPS - 100 Test 2: Latency - 30, Jitter - 50 (spiked to 200), MBPS - 75
