Hi there, so I currently have an Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop with 144hz screen. But I can’t get shadow to run properly on this machine. It is fully updated on newest windows updates, everything else is updated from AMD GU driver, ethernet everything. It is setup correctly in terms of IPv4 and there isn’t any antivirus/firewall software running, besides stock Windows stuff.The issue is, that in fullscreen mode, there is massive input delay/lag and the stream quality is pure garbage. Just dragging a windows around, seems to lag and stutter heavily.Interestingly, when I change to windowed mode, the stream quality seems ok and also the input lag and delay seems almost gone.Both local Windows and Shadow are set to 144hz correctly.I have a 1gbit connection, use ethernet gigabit, ping is 20ms, no packet loss in shadow stats panel.Thanks for any ideas.
The new Windows 2020 May update, build 2004. Failed to install on my Shadow 2 times now. It is a big update, it does multiple reboots in the process. But when it looks like it is done, and starts Windows again, there is a small popup saying it could not finish installing the update. In the update history I read this: Maybe this has to do with the 30 minute auto-shutdown? Because this update takes so long? We should do this update ourselves right? Or wil Shadow do this automatically for us?
I have read several forum topics on microphone issues and also submitted a ticket to Shadow, but so far nothing has worked for me.I am using a SteelSeries Arctis Pro USB headset. It works perfectly on my own computer. It's the only recording device currently enabled in the sound settings. I have tried both forwarding the USB peripherals and just enabling the microphone in the Quick Menu. If I forward the USB, the microphone works but the audio is broken and laggy. If I only enable the microphone (without forwarding peripherals), the audio is fine but the microphone doesn't work at all. The sample frequency is the same on my computer and Shadow (16-bit, 48000Hz), but my computer shows 2 channels and Shadow only shows 1 channel. I can't change either of them to match the other. I have tried using the official client and the beta client, with the same result every time. I have also tried reinstalling my headset.The only solution I can see is having a separate USB microphone and for
Shadow keeps using 0.2 or 2 MBP/s despite having 25 MBP/s allocated. Low bandwidth is activated, if I deactivate it, nothing happens. I have a 100 MBP/s connection. And my Shadow is connected to the Santa Clara server. And if it helps I haven’t used Shadow for a week since I had some technical issues with my 100 MBP/s connection.
Offer a button here that sends a Shutdown /a command to the machine such that a user can cancel their own accidental closure of the Shadow host application. (I mean, okay, I guess because I’m a lurker I can’t have Sys Admin ideas even though I use Shadow as a dev machine and I’m a veteran Desktop Admin? .. maybe do better there, too - I like you guys and your software, but I want to close this page right now and just give up on my suggestion)
Shadow Boost Amsterdam Server (if that helps). So Shadow detects my microphone, but it doesn’t work. I am enabling in from Quick Menu, tried disabling and enabling it, restarting Shadow. The thing is that Shadow Beta client doesn’t work too. Microphone works fine on my native PC and Discord but I can’t use it because it makes my Shadow laggy like hell (because of high traffic usage I guess) and my native PC is super trash for using it both. Hope this is not a singular issue with me only and it can be fixed :(. Everything was working fine 2 days ago tho, dunno about yesterday because yesterday there was a maintenance and I didn’t have any opportunity to play in a party yesterday.
Hey there, i have since 3-4 weeks a big problem with my shadow on osx catalina. I have 2 iMacs on different location, both are connected with ethernetcable. Both locations have 500MBits Down and 50MBits upload. When i start the shadow client i see my desktop and i can move my cursor for 5 seconds after that my cursor disapears and the stream is freezed. Now i use my osx “taskmanager” to see my cursor and restart the stream. This works for 5 seconds again. I can connect with remote desktop and it works fine, it is only the streamer that hangs. I have changed my bandwith down to 5 MBits in Shadow but no solution. I have checked the low bandwith mode and also no solution. When i change my resolution, the screen goes black and after this i have the same resolution like before. The funniest thing is, when i connect with my iPad or iPhone it works perfectly over WiFi. (Yes i already tested my Macs with Wifi ) It is realy annoying and i hope there is someone else who have the same proble
I have been trying to connect to Shadow for the past 30-45minutes and I am stuck on Step 2. Starting Shadow. After roughly 1-2mins, it stops trying to start and states in grey/black “Shadow is off”. My internet is working great currently. No issues with downloads or streaming. Any help? Thanks in advance.
So, I haven't been able to use my microphone for my shadow for a while, and I really needed it today, so I searched up online how to fix it, I ended up going to windows 10 settings and found 2 of my different inputs from my actual pc, but I didn't see the shadow input device. I don't know what caused this, I need helpbtw, this was taken down on the subreddit for some reason
Everytime (every device) I log into shadow and i get only a black screen with a task manager on the screen

Basically the description. I’ve installed a program on the Beta version of the shadow Pc app, but now it won’t install. I did a full reset and am still receiving this error. Even after the full reset, I’m still showing logs for Overwatch in my documents. Really need this fixed. I’ve attached pictures of the error code, and some things in event viewer, showing Shadow’s slue of errors displayed.
Hi,does anyone know if games like warzone work with 7.1 headphones that use virtual surround? I want to buy a knew headset and want to know if I just need to select a stereo one, or if the virtual surrounds work. They create a surround stage from a stereo signal. So this should work over shadow, but I guess games that use this need to know if such a headset is in use? Or need to be set to 5.1 or 7.1 and the headset software translates this to a virtual surround stage? Anyone has any experience with this? Many thanks,Wouter
I have every possible slider cranked up as far as it can go and it absolutely does not feel like it. I am currently using USB 2.0 ports as the 3.0’s can be a bit hit or miss when it comes to working. Any help at all to fix this is appreciated.
