This is pretty technical and long, sorry about that. Hoping someone from Shadow might see this I guess. Has anyone else observed this or can test this to verify I’m not crazy? The Windows app for Shadow (5.0.605) appears to have some general performance issues which impacts streaming quality. Not sure if this is known, but I’ll explain what I’m seeing. There are 2 scenarios where a decrease in streaming performance can observed during ideal conditions… at https://www.testufo.com/, and while playing Doom Eternal (might not be specific to the game, but it’s reproducible there). Local specs: 1Gb fiber connection, ethernet, 5ms ping to Shadow data center. Local PC is an Alienware Area51 R2 with a GeForce 980ti. 120hz monitor. Scenario 1: When tracking the UFOs at https://www.testufo.com/, there is a microstuttering pattern… it occurs every 8-10 seconds, like clockwork, and lasts for about 2 seconds per incident (with Shadow configured for 50mb… at lower Shadow speeds, the duration
I’m streaming PCVR to my Quest using Virtual Desktop. I haven’t had any issues until Tuesday this week: after 25 minutes of VR, with no other input into the Shadow, I hear the Windows ‘Device Connected’ chime and my VR game crashes. I then see the USB/External drive icon in my taskbar with an NVIDIA graphics card listed as the external device. If I force the game and Steam VR to quit and get it restarted, 25 minutes later I hear the ‘Device Disconnect’ chime followed by the ‘Device Connect’ chime and again, whatever VR game I’m playing crashes. I mentioned this in the Virtual Desktop Discord and it does appear other people are experience the issue, and if they pause VR and interact with the streamer client, they don’t get the ‘Device Connected’ chime. I also tested leaving the streamer up NOT playing VR, and as long as I’m interacting with the desktop, I’m not getting the ‘Device Connected’.
This is something that just started happening over the last week or so. I realized one day that my aim and sensitivity was extremely slow in Apex Legends. I typically run 800 DPI, default windows sensitivity, and 1.9 in game on Apex, which is roughly 27.3cm / 360. When I measured my mouse distance after noticing the slower sensitivity, it was almost exactly half, or 27.3cm / 180. I tested 4 other FPS games, and all had the same issue. I checked every setting on my local and Shadow PC, nothing has been changed, and I even installed Apex on my local PC, with all the same settings, and my sensitivity was fine, so I know it’s an issue with Shadow. Also, changing the sensitivity on the Shadow control panel changed my sensitivity on the desktop, but not in-game. I realize that I can temporarily solve the issue by just doubling my in-game sensitivity, or doubling my DPI, but I would like to solve the issue, as I use sensitivity converters for FPS games, and having to use incorrect settings
Soo Today the day came.. i cant play Modern Warfare anymore since the storage is full.. i really hope the storage on AMS will be available very very soon, cuz im out of use of my shadow again… does anyone have a suggestion for fixing this or how i can still play it
Hey guys I got the Razer kishi hoping to use it with shadow on my phone, seems like the perfect add on to shadow. The only issue is as soon as I touch any of the analogue sticks or triggers it crashes the shadow app. Iv tried the beta aswell and does the same. I have a Samsung S20 ultra and I hear it's a Samsung issue but all the current reviewers for it have obviously been paid to review as they aren't testing it with Samsung phones. If anyone on the shadow tech team had any ideas why it's crashing the app and confirm its not on their end where the issue is that would be great.
Hey, I just got a new Xbox Controller which I connected by Bluetooth on my Macbook, and also connected to my Android phone (not at the same time). The controller is immediately recognises by Shadow, on both devices, as I get a nice popup showing it is connected. On the Macbook it also shows up nicely in the controller menu in the Quick Menu. However, when I start a game on Shadow, in my case Fortnite, the game does not see the controller. It does not show the controller interface in the game menu, just the normal mouse and keyboard interface, while the Shadow Quick Menu still shows the controller is connected. Same result on Macbook and Android phone. Do I need to do additional steps to enable the controller in a game? The Fortnite menu usually auto-detects the type of controller. In Youtube videos you can see people switch between keyboard and controller on-the-fly. There is no controller selection in the Fortnite menu, as far as I know. I can use the controller just fine when I
Hello, My Xbox controller is no longer working on my Shadow. It is paired and shows connected to the Ghost, but Windows does not see the controller. It has worked without issue for the past few months. I've tried: - Re-pairing the controller - Rebooting the Ghost - Rebooting Windows - Shutting down the Shadow completely and rebooting - Un-installing the Shadow Virtual Gamepad driver in Windows and re-installing The controller is detected and works via the Android app, but not the Ghost. I am running the latest Ghost stable.
I use shadow on my 12.9 in iPad Pro and i love it! I Just have one suggestion in regards to the 1st generation magic keyboard, when I do want to type anything into a box I have to touch my screen and click the shadow button on top and then proceed to click the keyboard button on the bottom right and then finally i can type into a text box. Also when I want to click anything on the taskbar After typing I have to unclick the keyboard button to go back to controlling the taskbar. I sometimes use shadow on my laptop and it works flawlessly with controlling everything and doesn’t have this issue. I know I’m using my iPad and you guys are already doing an amazing job It would be that much better not to have to jump though those hoops just to type anything out. Besides that you guys are killing the game, keep up the great work.👍👍
Hello, I’m hoping to set up my Logitech G Pro Wireless mouse to work with USB forwarding. I have installed the newest Beta launcher and when trying to install drivers for USB peripherals my Mac is coming up with an error stating: “USB Network Gate Daemon crashed” and the options to “Disable Daemon” or to “Relaunch”. When I click relaunch it pops up again. Eventually after a few tries of clicking “Relaunch” the launcher stops trying to install drivers, and leaves the USB peripherals option set to the “Install Drivers” button. I tried to Disable Daemon, and I was able to install the drivers, but my mouse does not show up as one of the USB peripherals within my Shadow PC. I have tried to set it up both with the USB dongle for the mouse as well as plugged in directly with the Micro USB hardwired option.
Application type: iOS Shadow Client Version: Beta iPhone 7 Plus Datacenter location: Amsterdam Description of issue: Hi, I’m having a problem mirroring the screen with an hdmi cable. When I start shadow it opens a new instance with the desktop on the remote screen but the iPhone screen keeps the app on its main screen. If I’m using a mouse, I can’t access the remote screen and it only stays on the iPhone. I get a lousy resolution too (1280x1280) and since I can’t access the desktop I can’t change it. Is there a workaround to solve this? Any other way to connect the iPhone to a screen and use a mouse? Thanks
i have had an issue after a recent update of shadow where ingame the sens its still the same as before and so if my dpi but for some reason it feels like it is slower, much slower. Any of you have dealt with this issue?. I had to put my sens in game up and still cant fight my right sens because i was already used to playing at the sens that was set before the update that messed it up.
Yesterday I was upgraded to the Infinite package (yeah!) from the original, now known as Boost package. My USB 3.0 ports no longer recognize anything. Prior to the upgrade everything just worked and never had an issue. My Razer products aren’t being recognized nor do they work at all. I get the “device not recognized” error from windows. I had to switch my keyboard and mouse over to USB 2 in order for them to work at all. My headset with mic was my most important piece of equipment when gaming and it just does not work. Anyone else have or had this issue? Any known fixes??
Hi I have been having trouble while trying to use my Antlion USB Microphone on Shadow. The microphone is detected by the shadow launcher application, yet the shadow VM is not receiving any audio input. I tested the audio through the default windows recorder app and in-game (Overwatch and others) from within the shadow VM. Nothing was recorded. I have asked other members about this issue on the Discord channel and they have linked me to https://wiki.shadow.pink/index.php/Using_a_Microphone. I have followed that guide to the letter but haven’t had any success. I am not using USB peripheral forwarding. I am attaching screenshots showing my current list of recording devices and respective settings at the bottom. I have thoroughly tested my microphone locally and on a separate Linux machine and it works fine. A quick check of the device manager locally shows that the usb microphone is completely plug and play and does not use additional drivers. I’d be happy to provide further system lo
