Just thought I would share my thoughts on how shadow has seemed different lately. I have been actively using shadow for around a year and a half now, but recently (around the last 3 months) I have been getting unplayable connections. I average around 120 MBPS download speed and around 90 MBPS download speed with a wired connection so it surprises me how laggy shadow has been. I used to use it with no issue and had an amazing experience but now I seem to be getting spikes every 20 seconds even though I tried setting my bandwidth all the way to 10. Wondering if anyone else has a premium connection and is experiencing this issue or knows how to solve it. Thought I would try the forums instead of contacting support for the 20th time.
If anyone else streams Spotify from their Shadow, do any of you come across an error in which the desktop player suddenly skips through what looks like 20 songs before resuming normal playback? I do not experience this when streaming from my local machine. Is there perhaps a network error of some sort between the Shadow and Spotify streaming server? Thanks!P.S.: I like playing Spotify directly on the Shadow when gaming, otherwise the Windows media controls for my local PC will not work.
Dallas data center. Shadow Boost. This was also discussed here: This morning, I experienced very poor CPU performance with nothing but Chrome running. Geekbench showed the following: Maximum Frequency: 1.18 GHz BrittaneyFromShadow replied in the post above saying “...at the normal operating frequency of the processor will be under 2.5GHz, but when you use heavy apps or do multitasking the processor can increase the frequency up to 3.4 GHz.” I did not find this to be the case, at all. Running testufo.com in Chrome, I found that it was pegging every CPU core at 100% and the actual test was performing very poorly. Closing Chrome and then running a game (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) also showed very poor performance while on its main menu screen (approximately 10fps). Closing and re-opening Geekbench while both programs were running, the “Maximum Frequency” continued to stay at 1.18 GHz even while all CPU cores were at 100%. Restarting Shadow didn’t change anything. The only thing that m
so i am experiencing packet loss on shadow however it doesnt show in any tests i do and i believe it is because of internet traffic does anyone have any suggestions i restarted the router connnected via ethernet tried opening the right ports. tried different dns contacted isp and said nothing was wrong with the line and stuff please any help would be appreciated
Good day fellow shadowers) After totally reinstalling my Mac, and updating on Big Sur, I've got an issue with my mouse. After cmd+tab in any other application on Mac, and going back to shadow stream my mouse shuttering, stream is fine, latency fine, no packet loss, only mouse. Restart streaming from quick menu helps to fix that. I’m using shadow for about already 7 month, and everything was silky smooth. Is it smth in Big Sur update? or maybe I need to disable smth in Mac settings, since it brand new and clear setup… thx in advance)
Hey guys, recently I’ve been having a problem whenever I try to full screen my whole computer just crashes it comes up with the your windows ran in to a problem screen and restarts my whole computer. This only happens trying to full screen. I do have the setting on for, Full screen on start up and that works but sometimes I’ll go on my actual computer so I have to go windowed mode and once I go back on shadow it freezes and comes up with the message.

Controller works fine on local PC connected via Bluetooth
Hey everyone! I just got access to Shadow, and I’m loving it. However, when I’m trying to play Fallout 4 I experience a game breaking issue. I can’t look around using the mouse. But the mouse works just fine in the menus. I’ve tried all kinds of troubleshooting tricks I’ve found online, from disabling the Steam overlay to disabling the game pad. Tweaking the ini. Disabling and reenabling v-sync. Everything. But nothing is working. Has anybody experienced a similar issue, and if so, have you solved it? Thanks for your help! Ludvig
Hello! This is my first time posting on this forum! :) I have an odd problem. I play a few games on Shadow, but my main game is Overwatch (the others are also FPS games with the same problem). My issue is major input lag. When I first launch the game, for 30-45 seconds, no input lag, but after that, when I move my mouse, about 400ms after, the cross hair moves. The weird part is that if I tab out of the game (it’s still running) and reopen it, the lag goes away for another 30-45 seconds. Happens every time to all the games I tried (Apex, Fortnite, GTA V even an aim trainer I found on Steam). It has started about 2 months ago. I’m told that it’s the influx of people overloading their servers, but I’m hoping there’s another explanation/fix. To make this more interesting, I also use GeforceNow. ZERO issues. No input lag or any problems. On my end, I’m connected via Ethernet; 500mb/s up and down. I have an i7 and a 1060 Windows machine. I have like zero storage for games, which
Very frustrated right now. Since Thursday afternoon Shadow has been completely inoperable. It first started with CPU reaching 100% unexplainably making any game or program impossible to use. Upon shutting down and attempting to restart it went into a resolution error where the display is stuck at 800x600 and the only option other than auto detect resolution is 0x0. A red square is visible in the top left of the screen. I’ve gone through hours of troubleshooting. Restart and wait 30 mins, uninstalled and deleted all Shadow related data/folders and reinstalled. Tried switching to shadow beta. Check every possible hardware/software update for my host laptop. Attempted to connect through my phone and got the same errors/issues. I went to attempt to change resolution through the Nvidia control panel when I found that there was no nvidia control panel and in fact no video card hardware connected or active at all, as well as no audio connection. Have spent hours trying to find a solution wit
Hi all, Activated earlier in the week, about half an hour after my new machine arrived! I mostly play World of Tanks, and it runs very well on Boost at 1440p at 80-120fps, and has been great all week for the most part.Slightly annoying that I have to set the refresh rate on the Shadow monitor device within the VM on every launch. Is this a known issue? Also on that subject, it maxes out at 120hz. Can it not go higher, to 144hz or ideally 165hz?Anyway, last night and again today I am getting a lot of instability. Everything is fine for a bit, and I play a battle or two, then the game will go unresponsive (as in accepting no control, but can see everything going on), the sound goes choppy, and I'll have to quit the stream and restart it.The game at this point always kick me out on reconnect and forces me to restart the game, which can obviously cause issues involving death to me and/or team mates. Be nice if the VM kept the connection open or something. I am running Shadow Beta on an M1
I am using shadow on a macbook pro, I was able to use my microphone in shadow a few months ago then it just stopped working. I know it works because i m talking to my friends in the discord app on my mac. When i go to setting in shadow and look at microphone it detects no microphone, i’ve treid unplugging it re plugging in, restarting shadow, restarting the shadow computer, nothing works. I feel like there should be a simple solution to this.
Hi everyone,I have been having a great time with Shadow so far on my win10 laptop connected through a 5ghz Wi-fi.Unfortunately, as many other users that commented on this forum, I am also facing occasional wi-fi spikes.Every 5-10 minutes ping peaks to ~200-500 ms 3-4 times, then dropping to normal <10ms. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but enough to cause any game/audio to stutter for about 5-10 seconds.I spent several days troubleshooting this, connecting and disconnecting devices from my network, changing router settings, wifi adapter settings, windows settings and whatnot and came to a conclusion that this is not an issue with Shadow, neither wi-fi connection itself, nor the ISP, or anything else, but Windows 10 itself. I do not seem to have this issue on android nor Linux clients (there i am having whole other issues for a change :))Now, I have tried several "tricks” I dug up from all the dank corners of the internet (disable windows updates, set wifi connection as metered, change ada
I was wondering if there is a way to choose which games show up on the launcher within the Shadow app on my Shield TV. I can't seem to find any setting for it. I can always revert to the desktop and use the Shield app as a mouse but that's an inconvenient first world problem right? Seriously anyway I can get the games I want on the launcher?
Because of the awesome tech that Shadow enables us to use, I thought I’d see if I could route the audio and video from my iPhone to Shadow in order to use it as a webcam. These days webcams have maybe 1080p resolution while the most recent iPhones provide access to 4K. Thus far I’ve been able to get the Shadow to recognize the iPhone (it can pull it up in iTunes), but I haven’t yet been able to get it to work with any applications that would convert it into a live signal. Any ideas - or has anyone tried anything similiar? I’d love to be able to use it for Zoom calls and other functions. My reason for doing this is that my base computer these days is a Mac (because I travel).
Hello, yesterday when I turned my shadow back on, a blue screen appeared to select an input method but it did not let me select anything, I reset my shadow several times, I left it off for a few hours, I contacted the support and now I can't enter my machine, I've been without access for a day and I don't know what to do, since I hired shadow for my workpostscript: I leave photos of the errorsThanks to whoever reads this and have a nice day.this appeared to me when I turned it on
