Computer Crashes whenever i go fullscreen.
Hey guys, recently I’ve been having a problem whenever I try to full screen my whole computer just crashes it comes up with the your windows ran in to a problem screen and restarts my whole computer. This only happens trying to full screen. I do have the setting on for, Full screen on start up and that works but sometimes I’ll go on my actual computer so I have to go windowed mode and once I go back on shadow it freezes and comes up with the message.
shadow not working on my android tablet :(
Hello I am trying to connect to Shadow from a cheap android tablet but it does not work. It says that streaming services have encountered a problem and ask to update video driver?? Error R-300 Any advice?? It's the last device I have where shadow has not run!
Aspect ratio in games - ipad
Does anyone know of a solution or workaround to get games running at a 4:3 aspect ratio on an iPad using shadow? (2160x1620). some games allow for this in video settings (doom 2016 for example) but many don’t (outer worlds and Gears ultimate edition are locked at 16:9 for example) it’s just irritating to have black bars top and bottom. Anyone know of a solution?
Shadow for college students
I got started with shadow about a month ago and have enjoyed it so far. I’m home near Chicago for the next 3 months and got started with my shadow while here but then I will head back to school in Florida in August. When I head back to school will the connection I experience change dramatically or can I expect the same experience. If the experience does change for the worse because of the distance between Florida and the Chicago data center what would be options to get it fixed? Would it be possible to move to a new datacenter that is closer? Or what other options are available? I’m not concerned about losing data because a majority of the games I play are saved to online servers anyways so it would just be a matter of redownloading the games which isn't an issue. I’m trying to get an idea of what I should do before August so it can transition as smooth as possible. Thanks for any feedback/ideas!
Choose your keyboard loadout screen showing when trying to startup shadow
Hello, I appear to be having issues when logging onto my shadow as the blue windows “Choose your keyboard load out” screen appears. Please see the attached image. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Had the shadow service for about 2 weeks and am loving it. :)
all of my inputs stop working when playing warframe from my pc
i havent tested with other games yet, but my ps4 controller will stop working after about 2 minutes. then i try to exit the game and my keyboard and mouse also stop working and i have to force quit shadow as i cannot control any part of it.
Issues with image/font clarity (contrast?) on mac?
I have a macbook air 2013 with OS Catalina. I’ve been using Shadow for some time, and I’ve noticed that the fonts just don’t look right. I’ve got two examples here. https://imgur.com/SHCyGJb Notice how the “download” looks and here https://imgur.com/dpT5o3S Everything looks washed out, and the contrast seems off, and it’s hard to read. I’m at 50 for the bandwidth, little lag. No night settings on. True tone is not on. Anyone have any solutions, or is this just how it’s supposed to look?
Why does my shadow only run smoothly at certain times?
I have honestly had nothing but problems lately using shadow. The only time i can even get shadow to even be usable in terms of input lag and latency is between the hours of 1 am and 6 am CST. These are obviously not ideal times which is extremely frustrating. The issue is not my internet either, I have 300+ mb/s bandwidth with relatively high upload speeds as well, and a direct ethernet connection. I cant understand why this throttling is happening, I keep seeing the same BS copy paste excuse about “the path for internet is different for everybody” getting thrown around on here, but I really need some real answers. I want to like this program and it used to function well, but i cant warrant spending money on something i cant use for much longer.
Why does my shadow ghost do this?
Hi there I was wondering if anyone else who has the Shadow Ghost has their ghost do this on them. I've been trying to play GTA 5 with friends today, but with this happening several times within very short times I just had to say I'm out because I was about to punch the damn thing. So any thoughts/suggestions before I lose the will to live with Shadow?
Cant get ANY surround sound working, any ideas?
I have tried previous suggestions of setting my local pc to 5.1 and leaving my shadow pc on stereo setting (cant be changed) This, however, just outputs the front right and left channels to the rear speakers, not true surround sound. I've also tried a Creative Soundblaster external usb sound card to convert 5.1 PC to Dolby digital and activated it as a usb device in shadow, but this does not work either. Further to that, Windows sonic and Atmos for headphones seem to not work correctly. I have tried activating on both Shadow and my local pc and there is no effect at all. Other than using Steam Link, has anyone managed to get ANY form of surround sound, with the correct 5.1 channels using their shadow either on Windows or Android? Or even any kind of of surround virtualisation? I love this service but this is the one and only issue frustrating me at the moment! Cheers.
Optimal bandwidth brackets on Shadow for different users. Please provide a speed test result.
Mbps download: 428.4 Mbps upload: 18.3 I can run shadow on the 70 Mbit/s smoothly, but my gf on the other hand has Mbps download: 65-70 And she needs to run shadow on 5 Mbit/s with low bandwidth mode enabled. I want to see if any users have anything in between these, so i can see if and how i should go about upgrading her set up with minimal cost. Thank you.
Latency in Chicago vs. NY
Windows 10 client Shadow Client Version Official Local device CPU: Intel i5 6500T Local device GPU Intel HD Graphics 530 Datacenter location Chicago Connection speed 600 MBS The main idea of this post is to to help me understand things I can try to reduce the latency to Chicago, I live in Minnesota, and am on the Chicago server. I consider get just over 50 MS latency. When I test New York, I am always just over 30 MS. I contacted support officially, and there is a way to move me to New York but it requires activating a new account and what not. I am much closer physically to Chicago. In general, my service is playable and I like it, but I don’t understand why New York would be better when it is further away. What would folks suggest to improve my latency to Chicago?
Screen freezes or almost freezes
Playing Destiny 2, I would enter an area of possible high activity and the screen would freeze or almost freeze, which is something that hasn’t happened to me using Shadow. Over a year ago, this would happen in the beta stage of GeForce Now, especially when there was high activity. It no longer does. After this happened in Shadow (it has happened twice), I switched to Nvidia GeForce Now (I have the Founder’s edition), and continued the same activity with no problems. I believe this could be a problem since I am paying almost ten times the amount monthly with Shadow.
Sound/Microphone Inconsistency Issues
Application type (Windows/Mac/Mobile/etc.) - Windows 10 Shadow Client Version (Official/Beta/Alpha) - (I think this is correct? Launcher v4.14.16 Client v3.2.16) Local device CPU - Intel Core i5 - 1035G1 CPU @1.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.2GHz Local device GPU - Intel UHD Graphics Family 4GB Datacenter location (check status.shadow.tech) - Chicago Connection speed (Datacenter speed tests EU: Paris | AMS or US: CA | TX |CH | NY) - Chicago 124mbps download, 6mbps upload, ping 25ms, jitter 2ms, ethernet connection Description of issue - My audio in stream cuts out after about 1 minute of using shadow when I am on both prefer speed and prefer reliability settings. Also the sound on my laptop continues on like normal, it’s just the stream that loses audio. Shadow also recognizes but doesn’t transmit sound from my headset microphone. I tested the headset on other devices and it works fine. Same goes for this, the microphone works fine on my laptop itself, but
My Shadow has been down for 3 days.
So I have been using Shadow for awhile now and it has been great but this Thursday apparently my Shadow went belly up. Opened up a ticket on it and was told it needed to be escalated to maintenance. Well not a word from them to this day. I'm just wondering if there is a potential ETA on this issue, I have already had to cancel 2 planned streams due to this issue. Shadow has been stellar up until now, but this customer service is starting to worry me. Regards Joel
