Input Problem since Version 5.0.996 (Linux)

Since the update to version 5.0.996, the Linux client no longer works the way it should. Before the update everything was really good and flawless.

Since then, the keyboard input no longer works. Entries are constantly omitted or they are repeated over and over again, as if one were holding the key down permanently.

The same applies to the mouse. Here it affects all buttons, but not the movement of the mouse.

In addition, the Caps key is constantly activated without pressing it.

The bug already existed in the Alpha and Beta version of the client under Linux.

The old version worked absolutely reliably under Fedora 33 and Fedora 34 and the input was fluid and reliable. The client has only been unusable for me since the update.

This problem cannot be reconstructed under Windows and macOS.

Yeah, the last version of the Linux client broke the inputs.

As a workaround I use an older version of the client, which I downloaded from the Internet Archive: here. Before running it, you should make it read-only to stop it from updating:

chmod u-w ShadowBeta.AppImage

Please try the latest Linux beta app released today to see if that resolves your issues.

You can download it at

All the best!
